I love my Tisas 1911 Carry Model. I have put well over 1000 rds through it and never a single problem. Never a jam. Miss feed. Or ejection. No matter what 45 acp rounds I have run through it. It is now my everyday carry.
The gun is cerakoted. Having been around a lot of original 1911s and having one of these, Tisas does capture the color and the feel of 1911s very closely. Mine is a fantastic shooter. Love it for the money.
Hey, I've heard that 1911s can be a bit tricky to work with in terms of them getting jammed and that they're not really compatible with some magazines, is there any merit to these claims? Are they true to some extent?
@@melnibonean2550 All I can tell you is personal experience, but I have several 1911s Colt and other manufacturers. I have used everything from Colt magazines to Wilson combat to surplus. Jams and misfeeds are VERY rare. To put that into numbers, I have fired thousands of rounds of .45 acp from every maker that you can imagine in all makes and have encountered fewer than 5 misfeed / extraction issues. If you use good ammo, mags and MAINTAIN THE FIREARM METICULOUSLY reliably will not be an issue with any well made 1911 that I have owned or observed.
Tisas, Girsan, and especially Rock Island Armory are great guns. I disagree about spending more money on ammo than the gun for break in. RIA recommends 500 rounds be put through the pistol for a break in. If the gun is that tight tolerance wise it will be accurate as hell and you can never go wrong with practicing with your firearm. Personally my practice has always been never relying on a gun without putting AT LEAST 500 rounds through it. No matter what brand. 25 years ago I had a brand new first time fired Smith and Wesson 686 .357 magnum lock up on me at half cock while at the range with the hammer stuck over a live a round. The ejector rod was not locktited correctly, or at all from the factory, and backed out far enough to hit the underlug shroud. I could not lower the hammer nor open the cylinder. The range with "certified Glock armorers" (their claim to fame and what they bragged about) didn't have a simple pair of needle nose pliers so I could tighten the ejector rod back down and lower the hammer and unload the gun. I had to drive across town (15 miles) with a loaded half cocked magnum in my truck to get my own. They wouldn't let me leave the gun with them to drive to a hardware store to buy a cheap $5 tool to fix it because they were so unknowlegeable about revolvers to believe that was why it was locked up in the first place.
Agreed on the 1911! I bought 1 tisas M1911A1 Tank Commander 45 this year from PSA this year. outstanding shooter! Buying another one this week. Shoots as well as the Colt lightweight commander my late Dad gave me when I was a. Young Captain and became a Infantry Company Commander in 1985. In fact- my wife gave me a new colt combat commander 45 for my 65th birthday. Tisas Tank Commander shoots just as well . To each his own ... HK, Sig, whatever works for the individual shooter. Currently carrying my Glock 19 and love it. When I rotate carry I will carry my 1911A1 tank commander .
I just bought one and love the authenticity of the 1911. Paid a little more than $300.00. A bit heavy for a female, but I love it and can not wait to shoot it. Great Tutorial, thank you!
I have a Tesis 1911 45 Even though it is a low dollar gun made in Turkey. It is still very high quality part for part identical to the World War II 1911. Very reliable and very accurate.
I own one, I have a few thousand rounds through it and everything is still good. Ive had no jams no matter the 230gr ball ammo. Not really designed for hollow point defense ammo. I shoot it often, great buy. I paid $386 for mine a few years ago. Good quality item, no complaints.
Dremel polish the feed ramp to mirror finish, top of barrel just inside (the hood) and little on bottom inside barrel. Bullet hits ramp, goes up and impacts the hood then bounces down, hits about halfway to fully chambered. Brownell's sells a Wilson Dyer Group Gripper ($40) that's a full length guide rod with allen wrench and enhanced barrel link for tightening it up. Will greatly improve grouping if it's not to your liking; just a pain to take apart. LOL Shock buff helps save frame, new springs if reload/ shoot a lot (Wilson).
I was in the US Army Military Police from 1987-1995. We carried the 1911 A1’s at my first duty station in Schweinfurt, FRG. Always shot expert with it, but I’ll tell you I can remember those weapons were so old and worn out we thought they might fly apart when we were shooting them at the range…lol. I’d give anything to have the one I actually carried displayed in a case, but this one looks like it would definitely do!
My M9 I was issued was the same way. No telling how many rounds and how many times it needed rebuilt. The dang thing was worn out but smooth as glass LOL.
I'm a 95B too; 1989 to 1993. I was trained on 1911a1s & M9s. My first duty gun in 🇰🇷 was a Remington Rand model. Beat down. As for the SDS series Tisas, I would NOT buy 1. 🚫 The Tisas had poor QC & my friend could not field strip, clean the firearm. It busted twice! Even before any use. Don't waste $ or time on these cheap 1911a1 clones.
Thought you did a great job of shooting. I have the same gun only in 9MM. I painted the front sight. My first shot was a bull's eye. After that my grouping was to the left. Never had a problem with trigger bite as everyone seems to complain about. Overall, a great gun to shoot and EDC. I would buy another one. Great gun for the money. I paid about $450 that included the FFL. And you got a great deal Sir!
I purchased one of these two years ago almost.600 rounds no issues at all, mine came with only one magazine and it’s a Italian made Mec-gar.Also I got mine before they upgraded the case as mine came in a cardboard box.
14:39 That "modern" thumbs forward two-hand grip is improper for a military-style 1911. That's part of the reason for your discomfort. The M1911 was developed with plenty of input from the cavalry branch of the U.S. Army, which at the time was horse-mounted. Consequently, shooting one-handed from the saddle was emphasized, and the final adopted design of the pistol reflected those tactics. After WWI, a number of shortcomings were identified and corrected by the A1 revision, which the Tisas pistol adheres to quite faithfully. However, the official training doctrine established by the cavalry branch remained unchanged -- one-handed shooting. During WWII, the Army created an updated training program for the .45 automatic without the cavalry bias, which included one-handed and two-handed use from many positions, including prone. The associated training film is available on RUclips here: ruclips.net/video/jP7J-JNSUu4/видео.html Watch it closely and you'll see the recommended two-handed grip, which is identical to the despised "tea-cup" grip the tactic-cool kids laugh at.
I have this "newer" version, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I also have the "earlier" version with the different rollmarks. It shoots fantastic. I'm a WWII buff and these 1911's are the perfect fit for when you can't afford a true GI issue
The ceracoat is probably more consistent in color than Parkerizing would be for that pistol. I've done it in the past so any difference in metallurgy or heat treatment would tend to show. Note that doesn't mean anything bad just what Parkerizing tends to do. And you're correct about aging and color changes. Particularly if stored in cosmoline and degreased old GI style with gas or diesel. And, possibly with a fitted barrel bushing and link plus a trigger job. That thing ought to drive tacks.
I had one. Very well made pistol. Mine shot well but it shot even better once I lightened the trigger weight and added a better fitting barrel bushing. Two inch groups at 25 yards with hard ball no problems. You got a smoking good deal for $299. I paid $339 for mine in 2019.
Nice demo for anyone interested in this model. As a 68 yr old Noob I have a few 9s and wanted a 1911 in 45 cal. Of course money is a consideration to a retiree and most of us,so seeing this for $334 at Bud's, I took advantage of their free layaway for this gun. I've joined a range -club and I look forward to shooting it when it's paid off. You're a fine shot and from what you've shown it seems a bargain.
Bought one several months ago and all I can say is whoa. I've been saying for years that everyone would benefit from a bone stock A1, and now it's been done and proven. Too long has the 1911 been out of reach for a majority of shooters, and now it's both affordable AND dependable!
My friend-You are shooting master for a GI 1911. They are machined to tolerances to operate in all conditions. Given this pistol has use for over 100 years, no other military pistol can come close to the 1911. Your groups imply 3-4 inch groups at 25 yards, very in play for a combat pistol. Great video
Tisas makes high quality, top notch 1911 pistols. Tisas at this time are not over pricing them even they have a few models that are competitively priced. My Springfield Loaded 1911 45 is just as reliable as my Tisas 1911 duty B 45 and vice versa.
Had to chuckle, your 1st group out of that weapon was pretty tight. I shot army pistol team for 2 years "Combat Team 1st year, arms room rattle trap .45's. Next year Composite Team, match grade .45 and High Standard .22's. Just bought one of these Tisas .45's about 2 weeks ago. $427, thought I would scout out You Tube for reviews. Yours was my 1st video, your shooting and the positive comments have sold me on the idea that these are decent weapons. Had to comment as you drilled it pretty well. I kept watching your grip position and trigger control, how every shot should be a surprise. And I said to myself, hell it kept it tight and motionless. Then you walked down range to the target and had a very respectable grouping for a new stiff weapon, trigger, sunglasses, cloudy. Do you shoot competition yourself? I earned the Pistol E.I.C badge for being high firer after a couple days competition down in Panama 77-79. We had 10 seconds for 7 rounds at 25 meters, 10 min for 7 rnds at 50 meters. Going to see if I can get my touch back with a .45. The 5th MTU Unit at Ft. Riley picked me up, but I washed out after a month on intense competition. Waay to much fun. Take care shooter!!
I saw that $296 deal pop up over at Rural King on the Wednesday before Black Friday, that's a helluva good deal!!! Hope a lot of folks were able to pick it up, it saved like a hundred bucks off the regular price. Best of luck to you as you get back into competitive shooting!
I'm not impressed by this 1911a1 .45acp model. My friend got a SDS Army model in 2021. His pistol broke 2x even before any use. I would not shoot that firearm. 🚫
A barrel bushing will increase accuracy and reliability. If you lap the barrel to a new barrel bushing you'll love it. I personally own a cheap Rock Island Armory 1911. It has functioned to for 10 years no issues. Thats the beauty of the 1911, it works, handles hot loads and feeds even cheap ammo. It will have a 200 round or so break in period, and it will just get better from there. Should last a life time.
Nice shooting, even with a little flinching, you were hitting very decent groups. That's what counts 👍. Check-Mate mags are great. A few big name gun makers have used them as their factory magazine manufacturer. Good quality! Nice video. Thanks 👍
Great video. all A1 sights are difficult. But the Tisas 1911 is a great gun. As you said, it's not an every day carry, nor are most all government model 1911 frames. They are just too big no matter who makes them. However, The price point of theTisas 1911s should make other companies take notice. They are not junk guns. The are value 1911s that are built really well. Good video. Go Hogs. . .
My first 1911 was the same one. Didn’t want to spend a lot on my first. Now I live the platform and hope to add many more. Never had a malfunction, definitely well built.
I wouldn't bet my life on any handgun that I hadn't spent very much time at the range. It was intended as back up when your primary firearm, the 03 Springfield experience issues, and only in a pinch. Conceal Carry for self-defense is a whole different world from trench warfare in the early 20th Century when John Moses Browning designed this legendary auto-loader when bolt action long arms would have been hampered in the tight confines muddy trenches, or twenty years later when it would go back into service in Asia or Europe during W.W. II. With hand fitting and a few additions, this could serve for self defense, but would never function as well as a chopped, channelled, staggered-box magazine compact .40 S&W might serve the user in a clinch.
It is one of my guns that keeps going down in price since I purchased it. Yet more and more videos keep coming out praising it. I would have liked that case and 2nd magazine.
Ya this gun is great. I got mine when guns were going for more during the pandemic. I remember seeing them for $399. When I finally got mine it was $499 but I'm happy with it.
I got one as well and it shoot very, very well. I usually hit a inch below to where I aim on other 45 acp guns, but I was dead on with mine as it function perfectly as after 500+ rounds. I bought the gun because I was issued one in the Guard back in the eighties for five years alone with the M16a1 for six years and the Grease gun for one year (I was in for only six years by the way).
I own a 1911 by tisas And I can say 100% for sure it's not just good for the money it's a good gun and I will honestly say it's better than the rugers and a lot of the Kimbers! Not a single plastic piece for any crucial parts Ruger and Kimber both use plastic! Fit and finish is on par with the kimbers and far surpasses the Ruger not handled many colts but I wouldn't be surprised if it's on par
I am tempted to buy one even tho I have several 1911's already. Unfortunately I can no longer stand and shoot unless I am leaning/touching something solid with my leg.. Simply can't feel my legs so balance is an issue these days also a 'bit' older than you but I feel that you were shooting very accurately all things considered.
If it shoots and is reasonably accurate I like it. I have a Charles Daily 1911 that works every time. My Colt 1911 is really no different than the Charles Daily other than the Colt is made here in the United States and the Charles Daily is made in Italy.
just to let you know if you want a full guide rod the recoil spring is not standard you will have to get one from wolff springs. I put one on my GI tanker model enjoy
That's good to hear. I got the service 45 last week and haven't shot it yet. I just read the coating is black cerakoat. I sure hope it does as well as most of these reviews say.
This is a very nice representation of the classic 1911A1. Tisas also offers other 1911s in various configurations. I own an A1 as well as what Tisas refers to as the Duty pistol.
You probably needed to clean and oil your new Tisas 1911 and then you need to buy a pair of clear safety glasses so when you’re shooting in a low light setting .
I've heard many good things about the A1 ...personally, I like an updated version, so I got the tisas carry stainless model. Video on my channel if you wanna see. But I had issues within the first 50 rounds, but then switched to better mags, and no problems after that. 550 rounds so far, flawless.
I figure it will break in but I wanted to point out any thing bad or different about the gun. I try to be as honest as I can when I do my reviews and not just talk about how good something is without mentioning the bad.
The USA has fallen so hard that the Turks of all people make a better IMPORTED firearm than what's being produced here for cheaper. This has happened with everything not just this particular pistol. Goodbye USA 🇺🇸🔥
We can still make good products and I think we can still save America. I think it will take getting away from a two party system to do it but I think it can be done.
The TISAS 45 ACP is a great firearm! As far as SDS imports that’s another conversation, I wanted to purchase some accessories for my TISAS 45 ACP firearm and I contacted their customer service department and they were not willing to help me They said I have to go and do it myself and look up the parts myself they would not even give me a part number. They said I should be able to find it myself as I explained to them that I was an old man and I was not too good with the Internet. They said there was nothing they could do for me. So for that, I hate to say that they kind of killed it for me with the purchase of any more TISAS Firearms.
Arkansas truly is God's country. I used to work for Deloitte and did a bunch of audits of title insurance agencies out in AR back in 2012 and 2013. Little Rock was a charming little town. Hot Springs was beautiful as was most of the state that I got a chance to see. Got to do a little shooting while out there and met some great people. The older I get, the more this Jersey boy wants to live in a place like Arkansas or Missouri. I just don't like the whole tornado thing though I guess no place is perfect LOL
I have lived in AR pretty much my whole life. While there have always been tornados I have never seen one in real life. So I wouldnt worry too much about them.
@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 They are still around and were the importer for us till March of this year. They still help us out with some of our operation but it was time for us to stand on our own in the US.
Nice piece! I just bought the same GI model and am very impressed with the fit and finish. It shoots great, too! I'm so glad I didn't pay twice the price for the Springfields I was looking at- because this thing seems as well built as an $800 gun.
I have one of these being delivered to my FFL today. 😁 $329.00 + Tax w/free shipping. Mine comes with two 8 rd magazines Can't wait to take it to the range. I think I'll hit that front sight with some nail polish.
I got one as well and am very pleased with it. For the price it's darn good. Just a fun shooter. I picked up a reproduction WWII canvas holsters and belt. Kind of GI.
I own 2 of these, my favorite is black with white grips. Beautiful piece, catches your eye very quickly, the problem I have with it is: Do I shoot it, or frame it and hang it on my wall. At $300.00 price this firearms is a keeper. 1911's are my favorite and I own most of the major brands, and this one shoots as well as any I own.
I put a couple of hundreds $ to get a match grade barrel, barrel bushing, and 3 lb trigger pull, shoots as well as my $1500+ 1911's.@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867
To follow up on the "Checkmate" magazines. I know with the M9 pistol, when sand and dust got on the magazine, it would make removing the magazine extremely difficult because they were flush fitting, and you had nowhere to get a hold of. Looking at them in the 1911, it looks like you can get leverage on the floor plate and get any magazines that bind out easy.
It's made in Turkey, it's distributed by SDS Knoxville, TN. You'll see where it's made if you'd stop flipping it from the left and right and check under the frame where the barrel is.
@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 thank you. Yours was the newest review I could find. And our grips differ. I think its odd with them being purchased a month apart. 🤔
@@Bairleafarm His version appears to have the older grips. The old version of this 1911 was discontinued a few months ago and a new (almost identical) version came out with grips that say "US" on the grip panels. Should be an apples-to-apples gun review from a mechanical perspective.
I have one and love it. Same issues when I got it. The sights, the safety, and the palm safety. Bought all the cheapest ammo I could and she loosened up nicely. I painted the sights and that made a huge difference. Now, I also have an RIA 1911. Got it at Rural King, out the door $350, on sale. Gun for gun, RIA. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat.
I have a couple of these A1s, they are a great gun. I carry one every day. The one I carry has a couple thousand rounds through it and its still pretty tight. I did need to go to wood grips.
The Tisas 1911 is a fine pistol , just because it's made in Turkey doesn't mean it's not as good as any other 1911. The Turkish police have used it so you know it's no slouch. I would rank it on the same level as a Taurus and I know a few friends that have one and have fired hundreds of rounds in them with no issues.
This gun IS parkarized. It's a ONE hand pistol, grip tight, all fingers on the gun, see US Army pistol training film from 1944, learn how to use this gun, how to support with other hand. Hold it right ... NO hammer bite ! It's a combat pistol, 5+ lb. trigger, two safeties. One great gun, price is up. now over 400, worth every dime and then some.
@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 yea lol I almost bought it too but thought twice about spending any money on a firearm I knew nothing about lol glad I didn’t pay what they wanted. Honestly everything at the gun show was overpriced. Glock 17s going for 900…
I bought one about two years ago. Worked great since. I replaced the grips with real World War Two grips and it now looks exactly right. The grips that came with the Tisas are..... Meant to be replaced with World War Two grips. Really Great Firearms!
Got my first look at one 3 weeks ago. But did not buy one. Retired Old ass Marine, have a pair of original issue 45's WWII SN markings cost me around 15,000 that was 12-years ago. Recently had them reappraised at the pair at 50,000. Have now retired them to my gun cabinet with a Marine guard. Having seconds thoughts about buying one, but have to think on carrying it as a CCW, based on reviews. But haven't tried it yet, could change my mind. at 77-years of age currently carrying a Desert Eagle .50 ae 1911 commander custom fit. Cost me around 850. .50ae hollow points 21 dollars per 50. I might want to seriously think about purchasing the Tisas 1911A1 45acp. 300, 400 range that's a no brainer for a 1911. Now that I'm retired for real and on a budget.
I was tempted to buy one of these myself but I had just bought a S&W 637-2 & Stoeger STR-9C. I didn't think I'd like both of them as much as I do or find myself carrying them as frequently as my Glock's I scooped up a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 for $500 3 years ago and was slightly dissatisfied that it came in a cardboard box & one 7rd mag from SA's factory. The price difference between the RIA & SA wasn't enough to justify going with the RIA but now you can snag 2 SDS's for the price of 1 SA.
tHOSE TURKS BUILD DECIENT GUNS!!! I have a 1911 tISAS nIGHT STALKER !!! Its a badass, great functioning pistole well made!!! I have never had a problem with my night stalker! Very good quality , but its not the gun he is showing. 1911 .45 is not for everyone, it is a man's gun. Not a woss gun at all!! I am a man and proud of it. I own 3 Colt 1911 s . One desert eagle subcompact 1911. I sleep with one in my hand one in the chamber. there are too many safety's on to keep me from shooting myself. I am extremely happy with my Tisas. 1911 .45 night stalker!!! good quality gun. it runs standard 1911 mags. Nice grouping. skew the glasses, you won't have them in a fire fight!!
At my local store these are 400 new, CMP has them for 475, online ive seem between 300 and 550. Are they all the same? I can't possibly imagine a 300 dollar gun doesn't have any issues, its the cheapest 1911 I've seen anywhere at all
8:20 did he just shit his self 😂 he didn't miss a beat. Nice 1911 I've heard a lot of good reviews on this company for 3 to 6 hundred dollars you can get a really nice stock 1911 perfect for a build or a budget range gun I would put a couple hundred rounds through it and if it was relyab I would stick it in my EDC rotation. Ether way at $300 you can't go wrong.
That's Alot of time consuming maching and tool wear to heat treat before milling, usually it's made 30 over then final milled.. really good value gun I want one
You will most likely need glasses in a few years... My vision was 20/15 till a little past your age. When I could no longer instantly pick up sights no matter how small (like a PPK say) I was not a happy camper. I did bite the bullet 10 years or so ago and get quality prescription glasses... Ok... I see really well again. not 20/15 but an easy 20/20 they are also impact resistant (saved my eye at least twice I think) And.... they are self darkening so great sunglasses... I ride old Harleys and got the glasses in Ray ban semi wraparound so.. great motorcycle glasses Aaand.. I always can find em cause ... I am wearing em.. Blended lenses... YES they did take time to adjust to say... 6 months? but now I could not be happier. Anyone in this situation... I suggest you not spend those few years where you buy 'reading glasses' cause you won't admit you do need glasses. I did and had cheap reading glasses for every different thing I did and had em all over the house but still could never find em... LOL.. I wear an old Omega Seamaster watch people with 'smart' phones ask me what time it is... and if they don't have a pair of reading glasses ask me what this or that says
It's a near clone of the late war Remmington-Rand 1911 which is probably the most well made and well stocked 1911 during WW2.From what I understand Turkey acquired the machines from a usgi manufacturer so that's why it's such a nice clone and the cheaper price because it's from Turkey. Basically someone else's garbage is someone else's treasure. The earlier models did have some issues that I can tell. It appears the ramp is cut rather shallow and as such I can only get it to work with a mag that sits a little higher. I haven't tried a usgi style but the wilson combat seems to work very well.
Looks like the recoil is having quite an affect of his shooting. You can tell he's not used to shooting 45 by the way he's trying to brace for the recoil.
Yeah I don’t shoot much of anything over 9mm or 5.56. I need more trigger time and I’ll get use to the gun. At least I’m honest enough to admit I suck.
@@arkansasoutdoorschannel1867 nah, you clearly didn't suck. It just looked like the recoil was wearing on you, causing your grip to release just a bit which causes the pistol to try and roll over the top and putting way more strain on your wrist. Hard enough to hold a solid base shooting .45 but way harder when you're not used to it and getting really close to a sprained or fractured wrist. You did did good all things considered and I was most appreciative of the video. Not many content creators do much with the "budget" foreign 1911s. I've been steadily considering one of those for awhile just because of the already low price and I keep getting ads for sales and or discounts on them.
Good job shooting. I took a little white paint to my front sight helped a lot. I have the same problem my eyes are not like they used to be now that I turned 60. Great video thanks for the review.
love mine have had it since i think 2020 now. Put a few hundred rounds through it since then and is accurate never has failed as of yet. The fit is also great tight and smooth. Only thing i want to change on it is the grips for some real wood
If I told you this is $1500 gun you would probably say that you can trust this gun. But, of course it has to by like you said 1000 od 2000 rounds. Why? It is definitaly better than many amerycan produced garbage guns, jut admit it. Your 45 yers old eyes are not to old, many people are older and shoot the same. BTW you shooting was not bad. So I do nkt know what is this criticizm all about. Hmm.....
I believe these are parkerized. Either way, I've had mine for several months and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Much better option than a Springfield for twice the price.
I love my Tisas 1911 Carry Model. I have put well over 1000 rds through it and never a single problem. Never a jam. Miss feed. Or ejection. No matter what 45 acp rounds I have run through it. It is now my everyday carry.
I want to try the Carry BR.
The gun is cerakoted. Having been around a lot of original 1911s and having one of these, Tisas does capture the color and the feel of 1911s very closely. Mine is a fantastic shooter. Love it for the money.
Very happy so far for the money
This is pretty cool. If I didn't have a 1911 I would jump on this. Cool video and feedback
Same. Get one. Won’t be sorry.

And that's why you should always carry a Leatherman multitool.
It's not merely a gun... it's a 1911, the best combat handgun ever devised!
My HK Mark 23 says "Hold my beer!!"
That's not the best "combat handgun ever devised", dum dum.

I just bought one and love the authenticity of the 1911. Paid a little more than $300.00. A bit heavy for a female, but I love it and can not wait to shoot it. Great Tutorial, thank you!
Thanks for watching! I hope you like it!
I have a Tesis 1911 45 Even though it is a low dollar gun made in Turkey. It is still very high quality part for part identical to the World War II 1911. Very reliable and very accurate.
I was impressed with the quality of the materials used in the pistol
I own one, I have a few thousand rounds through it and everything is still good. Ive had no jams no matter the 230gr ball ammo. Not really designed for hollow point defense ammo. I shoot it often, great buy. I paid $386 for mine a few years ago. Good quality item, no complaints.
I have been super impressed with it so far

I find just the opposite to be true .My tisas is now 3 years old and it runs fine.
I think you did a great job shooting. Most folks have difficulty hitting precisely with those sight. Great review...
Thanks. And thanks for watching
Good to hear. I need more trigger time and a higher round count with the gun.
Just bought the black cerakote model online. All the reviews have been positive. Gonna pick it up next week in Heber Springs!
I have this "newer" version, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I also have the "earlier" version with the different rollmarks. It shoots fantastic. I'm a WWII buff and these 1911's are the perfect fit for when you can't afford a true GI issue
Ive been really happy with mine.
I think I wouldn't want you shooting at me. You did great with a new gun and not alot of shooting a 45.
Love mine
I have the same AI 1911 clone from Tisas but in 9mm, all the .45 were sold out at the time I purchased. It's a great gun
I bet the 9mm is a soft shooter
The ceracoat is probably more consistent in color than Parkerizing would be for that pistol. I've done it in the past so any difference in metallurgy or heat treatment would tend to show. Note that doesn't mean anything bad just what Parkerizing tends to do.
And you're correct about aging and color changes. Particularly if stored in cosmoline and degreased old GI style with gas or diesel.
And, possibly with a fitted barrel bushing and link plus a trigger job. That thing ought to drive tacks.
As I keep shooting it Im getting better with the GI sights. Im still not where I want to be but the gun is more accurate then me.
I had one. Very well made pistol. Mine shot well but it shot even better once I lightened the trigger weight and added a better fitting barrel bushing. Two inch groups at 25 yards with hard ball no problems. You got a smoking good deal for $299. I paid $339 for mine in 2019.
Thank for watching. I plan on keeping her stock for now.
Thanks for watching!
Bought one several months ago and all I can say is whoa. I've been saying for years that everyone would benefit from a bone stock A1, and now it's been done and proven. Too long has the 1911 been out of reach for a majority of shooters, and now it's both affordable AND dependable!
Well said
My friend-You are shooting master for a GI 1911. They are machined to tolerances to operate in all conditions. Given this pistol has use for over 100 years, no other military pistol can come close to the 1911. Your groups imply 3-4 inch groups at 25 yards, very in play for a combat pistol. Great video
Thank you. I just normally can shoot very tight groups at those distances.
I shot cowboy action for fun but never anything serious as competition. Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
I saw that $296 deal pop up over at Rural King on the Wednesday before Black Friday, that's a helluva good deal!!! Hope a lot of folks were able to pick it up, it saved like a hundred bucks off the regular price. Best of luck to you as you get back into competitive shooting!
I seen, I bought it without hesitation. Same Rural King ad you seen most likely.
Thanks!
I saw it and though about it for a few hours and then I pulled the trigger and ordered it.
I'm not impressed by this 1911a1 .45acp model. My friend got a SDS Army model in 2021. His pistol broke 2x even before any use. I would not shoot that firearm. 🚫
@@DavidLLambertmobile That I'd like to see. What broke probably wasn't made idiot proof.

Tisas 1911A1 is a great gun. Glad as hell to have one!
I really like mine so far

Good video. Go Hogs. . .
Thanks. So far I am happy with mine. I need to put about another 800rds in it before I can really recommend.

I would have liked that case and 2nd magazine.
its because economy in turkey crashing more and more and $ worth alot more every single day.
@@popsncracks9108 I believe you are correct. I wanted to make sure I did not hand my son a bunch of plastic guns. I feel good about this purchase.

LOL @ 9:38 target was like nope! Not today!
LOL it happens
If it shoots and is reasonably accurate I like it. I have a Charles Daily 1911 that works every time. My Colt 1911 is really no different than the Charles Daily other than the Colt is made here in the United States and the Charles Daily is made in Italy.
As long as this one holds up I'll be happy. I need more trigger time and a higher round count before I'll truly trust it.
I did my black Friday Tisas buy too. I bought the "Stakeout" model for $338.00.
Nice! I didnt see that one on sale. It would have been hard to pick one if I saw that sale.

I bought a Tisas 1911 A1 service model a couple of weeks ago. The gun shoots just as well as my brother's Springfield and Colt.
Mine has been great so far. The GI sights and my 45 year old eyes have a little trouble but I am making due with it.
I want to try the Tisas BR series for carry.
I have the tanker model and it's an excellent pistol
We ran my 1o round mags in a friends a few weeks back. They feed fine.

Im glad you havent had any issues after the mag swap. Ive heard the mags are the weak link for these guns.
I have heard nothing but good about the tisas. You did fine. Remember this was designed to be a man stopper not a precision shoter.
So far so good and I'm getting more accurate with it.
Its whole lot better than the damn stick or a knife.. if it shoots it will kill.. Great video..

don't worry about the safety!....it's a new gun....it's good to go!
Sorry to hear that. However I belive that Tisas is handling their own imports now. I dont think SDS is involved with the newer guns.
I have 600 rounds thru my Tisas B45 so far all is well I really like the gun

Arkansas truly is God's country. I used to work for Deloitte and did a bunch of audits of title insurance agencies out in AR back in 2012 and 2013. Little Rock was a charming little town. Hot Springs was beautiful as was most of the state that I got a chance to see. Got to do a little shooting while out there and met some great people.
I said at the beginning of the video that its made in Gobble Gobble Turkey.

I was tempted to buy one of these myself but I had just bought a S&W 637-2 & Stoeger STR-9C. I didn't think I'd like both of them as much as I do or find myself carrying them as frequently as my Glock's
I scooped up a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 for $500 3 years ago and was slightly dissatisfied that it came in a cardboard box & one 7rd mag from SA's factory.
5 star video
Thank you!
It's a brand new gun it's going to be a little sticky at first
Good job shooting. I took a little white paint to my front sight helped a lot. I have the same problem my eyes are not like they used to be now that I turned 60. Great video thanks for the review.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching.
love mine have had it since i think 2020 now. Put a few hundred rounds through it since then and is accurate never has failed as of yet. The fit is also great tight and smooth. Only thing i want to change on it is the grips for some real wood
Good to hear that yours is trouble free. Im sure mine will be too but I like to error on the side of caution until I know.
Compared to the original 1911, the 1911A1 does have an extended tang on the grip safety. One of the things changed when Colt went to the A1.
Decent video but you're flinching on every shot. Hope you don't mind me saying.
Yeah I had that ordered it and everything else never received it I think it was palmetto bug armory
That sucks you never got the gun. I saw the deal RKguns had and jumped on it.
Good video presentation, my suggestion is to shoot shoot n see targets for your video audience.
Not a bad idea.
Just bought this pistol yesterday and paid 299. Haven’t shot it yet but very happy to own it.
i bought my colt 45 in 1980 for $290.00. 42 years ago. i f they would have had that handgun back in 1980 i could have saved a lot of money .
There are so many guns that I wish I would have bought crates of 20 years ago to sell today.
Gobble gobble its as good or better than anything like it made in usa. At less than half the price.
You don't have to justify yourself to anyone. It doesn't make someone a man because they can shoot a .45
If I told you this is $1500 gun you would probably say that you can trust this gun. Hmm.....
Thanks for watching
I believe these are parkerized.
Either way, I've had mine for several months and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Much better option than a Springfield for twice the price.
Tisas website said Cerakoted. Other reviewers said the same so that is what I went with.
I heard parkerized underneath a cerakote. Love mine, but mine came in a cardboard box and only one parkerized mag.
