    I have a Tisas U.S.Army 1911A1 model. I love the pistol have put wood grips on it. It shoots and functions well.

    Very nice trade Rob, I've got the same model. It has a great trigger, accurate, runs well, a solid 1911. The only thing I did was change out the plastic grips for some Altamont wooden fingergroove grips. One bit of advice, don't keep your thumb too high with your grip or that hammer will give you a good bite. I only had to learn that lesson one time to not do it again lol. Anyway take care and God bless.

    • @HamiltonOutdoors
      @HamiltonOutdoors  Год назад +1

      Yeah that's a problem I run into. That's partially why I let the tanker go. And picked up the tank commander. I got a lot of hammer bite from that gun. Hopefully I can just readjust my grip like you suggested and that will help me out. If not I'll put a commander hammer on it lol

      @@HamiltonOutdoorsi just got one and yesterday mine jammed and the slide is really hard to pull back sometimes then at other times really loose but first 1911 so not sure if normal I looked all around online but no info on that

  • @troubleman730
    @troubleman730 3 месяца назад +1

    Just a suggestion but try disassembling the the opposite way you did. Push the guide rod in first and turning the barrel bushing counter clockwise releasing spring pressure. Then operate your slide in position, then remove the slide stop. It will be much easier to.

    You did well on that trade Rob. Hammer bite was the reason the former owner ponied up all of that trade stock and for the like new condition of the Service model.

    I intend to replace the sear spring to, hopefully, improve the trigger pull, the main spring to lighten the work of cocking the slide, and a recoil spring just because.
    After about 50 rounds (more tomorrow) it is beginning to slick up. Very well made pistol I haven't gotten to the mechanical works but they should be good
    At this price a few bucks to improve the handling is not unreasonable.

    I bought the Turkish made TISAS 1911a1 45ACP”US Army” which is best USGI reproduction for “as issued” 1911A1. It’s CHF barrel can’t beat forged Frame and slide and zero malfunctions. It’s 4.5 lbs trigger makes it my choice over my SA “Mil-Spec” 1911A1, at 25 yards as my match pistol.

    • @HamiltonOutdoors

      They are definitely a well-made gun well worth the money they're charging for them. They'll go up in price as people catch on to them.

      Yes I have used about every method there is to disassemble a 1911. And you're right putting that pin in before you put pressure on the gun with the spring definitely saved you from making the dummy scratch on your 1911

    Tisas is killing it! I just got the US 1911A1 GI model and it’s awesome! Wilson combat 47D mags feeds HST which is awesome because in 45 those HST are all I trust hollow point wise! I’m glad I got this gun for under 400$ because they’re going to go up! I believe mine is the newer model because it doesn’t say army on the slide 🤷🏼‍♂️ mine says US 1911A1 and the ZIG marking is under the frame instead of on the side of slide

    That's a thought for those blessed be able to drop $1K to $2K for a 1911. Pray God they never need it for self defense but if they do that 1911 is going to the evidence locker and they might not get it back. I have a Tisas Service Special on my hip as I write this. I put wood double diamond grips on it because that is a personal preference. I want to get there M1911A1 US Army model because many reviews that are vets who carried the 1911 say it is 99% accurate.
    Modern 1911's are all made with the wider ejection port, even more than the expansion from the 1911 to the 1911A1. So no new production replica is going to be exactly like the original was. I have contacted them and said that since they already make 2 of the original 1911 parts, the flat main spring and housing, they should make a replica M1911.
    I also want to get there M45A1 clone because it has gotten many good review as well.
