Shwetabh, have you always been conscious about what were you doing with your life? were you concerned about your future when you were a teenager?
22:59 also India me population kitni jyada hai apne UP state me 22-25 crore ki population hai...joki ek alag country kehlane ke layak hai..aur resources limited hai..aur har bande ko dusre se aage badna hai to competition hai aur saath me corruption bhi isilie hai..garibi me aata gila..
Bhai aap sahi ho amazing video love it
hey yarr did u noticed the difference in the people that they admire and the people that gen z or millenials are admiring today? it tells a lot about what happened in the past.
there is also a video abt when they r now...what they r doing..we would want combined reaction on both
I'm 18 yrs old and the fuck i'm stunned by looking at these people just 2 yrs older than me prolly 50 yrs ago! The kind of understanding & perspective they have for life is just commendable and real inspiring.
Right? Like That girl who said she fulfills her duty towards India by being honest hard-working citizen. At 20 we don't even think about having any responsibility towards India let alone have such a fine answer🙆
@@swatisaini6447 I don't think that's true. Many young people get into activism because they think about these things. However, how practical and rational their thoughts are is a completely different thing. The stereotypical angsty teenager is a reaction to the ills of the world which clearly signifies the beginning of thinking about these things.
true but as swetabh said they must be from a pretty well off background
Can't you see where these people are from , they were the elites of that time , see their English.
@@swatisaini6447 I agree.
This guy is hands down the best reaction guy on RUclips. Rather than merely reacting, he gives deep insights and thoughts on the videos- a quality lacking in many of the so called reaction channels who just watch videos and say 2-3 lines and get it over with
Then go unsubscribe others.
@@Marshall_D_preach who said I was even subscribed to any of them?
@@Marshall_D_preach nice username
Haha, he is not a reaction guy lol.
bhai sadly they don't have that capacity to explain in every aspect, perspective. more or less 'jaby koay' reaction channel worth watching.
There's so much stillness , calmness in the voices of these people , today bcz of the mental chaos , it reflects in people's speech too.
interesting take, really
Yes
Fr....bro
I guess its because theose are students of IIT Bombay which is a privilege for that time( good education was affordable only for effluent families) and moreover the English they are speaking is more close to British because of the era (which sounds more classy then American English which we are more close to now).
@@kartikeypandey8957 exactly bhai. With the non privileged people on screen, you can't see the same calmness.
1:00 : during the 60s and 50s the level of fluency and the command over one’s language, the language being English, was way higher than today’s India
no that's not true lmao, India is more fluent in English today than it was ever before
Those who knew English had that command but the number of people who knew were very less
Lol that's not something to be proud of.
@@mayurkanth6987 True! But what to do? We still have this so called *White supremacy* in our minds even after 75 years since British left.. Our country people still measure ones intelligence and literacy with his/her ability to speak a certain language..
Strange, but true!!
@@kritz_y thats why India is among the poorest nation on earth.
Shwetabh I really liked your point of working abroad. I very recently got a job in my own field after my studies here and working part time for some 3-4 years like a maniac. I have immense gratitude that I wasn't born like these rich kids who would probably never have the joy I get of coming from rather humble backgrounds and then doing well for yourself
Doesn't mean life for rich kids is easy.
@@neeljavia2965 when did I say it is?
@@rishijoshi5808 You said rich kids doesn't have the joy of doing well for themselves, which is completely false.
@@neeljavia2965 100 percent because they don't have to go through this sh*t which we are so called proud of, we are proud because we don't have any other option.
@@MihulSinghRawat They too have many problems but their problems are different.
i am 18, i got internet ,i got phones and computers better education but still i cant speak english like them it gives me complex! but still i feel greatfull to born in this time and to born in this nation💓
17:09 onwards was really insightful, and for me, really needed. You are absolutely right. Competition here is so cutthroat, anything below absolute perfection seems like a failure. Every time I do something half decent, I feel like I've let myself down because I see people doing amazing things. And it is soul crushing.
Thanks, dude. I really needed to hear this. I should learn to appreciate myself, my efforts and my results more
Watching this video, there's one realisation that there are many kinds of people always... Some are grateful, and some don't care and are resentful.... But they all are citizens of one country... And everyone of them has the right to live and make a livelihood here....
For who didn't realise
Shwetab's dialogue from 17:00 about current situation of indians effort vs roi, in comparison to well developed countries situation.
This dialogue can be covered under a new documentary titled "Indians from 2022" .
Where someone from 60-70yrs future , lets take 2090, when India is well developed, listening to this will be like,
How our ancestors used to struggle. 😀
Nice dude i was too thinking of the same .
What if India wasn't developed till then and they again record 2090 and think will listen india developed in 2150.😅😅😐
India would never reach the levels of US or Europe.
And the simple reason is population.
@Devil's Logic Good joke.
Indians only work more in terms of hours.
Not in terms of productivity.
Plus Indians succeeding in USA doesn't mean the entire population is like that.
The people who work there 5the top 1% of the country's population.
Plus huge working population only means everyone has to work like donkeys for low wages, in sectors where they have no passion or interest.
@Devil's Logic Also your name and comment on having 4 times US GDP only shows you have no idea how the world works.
I 100% agree with your point about modern companies making their products unrepairable.
The Best part of the India of those days was the Rise of Industrialism. The youth of those days was so ambitious than many of our today's people.
They are brilliant minds. I can have conversation with them for the whole day.
No talks about Instagram, reels, iphone. Only betterment of my country.
What Shwetabh said in the last part is gold!
Saw this video few weeks ago, got goosebumps and really changed some of my perspective
6:38
Interviewer: Do you know President/Prime Minister/Chief Minister?
Guy: No
Interviewer: Do you know ur District Collector?
Guy: Yes
Now it's reverse. :-D
Now mostly people dont know their Local Governance - who's their District Collector, their municipality ward corporator., etc.

My Nana ji is around 80 yrs old now and he speaks english well better then most of the MBA's nowadays he is just 12th pass so it doesn't matter how mang degrees you have it just matter how qualitative you did your education and in 1967 there was a quality in education dont deny shwetabh please.
the people who were interviewed, a majority of them were from extremely prestigious academic institutions, that is why they are speaking so fluently
I would like you to react to where are these people now.
It was phenomenal to see their growth.
When I watched this I wrote it on my notepad that whenever I find a better RUclips video than this I'll cut the title and replace it with that.
It's been almost 2 years and that title on the notepad is still untouched.
6:06 👏there are very few people in India who raise voice for consumer rights, and there are very few who are aware of what's going on in the first place.
9:33 the definition of real beauty
bring these live streams back Shwetabh bhai, Love you
The second part of this video shows how each of them became stalwarts in their fields.
Awesome video man....it changed the point of view...it changed how I see the world....why I am doing what I'm doing....and I think I needed this hardcore motivation when I'm chasing my little dreams... And your speech really changed....#iip
lol just today i rewatched this video, just for "motivation"...now you also reviewed it...thnx
My Fav. lines that i have saved in notes-
"It's a question of not what the country can do for you, it is what you can do for the country"
"Our achievements is that we have hopeful tomorrow, our failure is that our today is very precarious."

They are way way ahead in maturity , integrity and honesty than today's 20 year olds who are in a state of confusion till even their 30s and hardly grateful to anyone...

I feel pity seeing who have not struggled for something they are doing, they have in true sense never experienced the real joy of working hard for something which once you had dreamt of and then living it.
Right to repair is the movement you were referring to.
Struggle brings maturity. Like a diamond looks beautiful after it’s cut and polished. I don’t expect this generation to be so mature and deep.. but I wish we had more youngsters like these.
Am I the only one who thinks people in 1970s were more mentally evolved and had better perspective about life.
This is may be because of the fact that they didn’t have mobile phones and other gadgets to waste their time and mind energy.
Consider the fact that most of the people in this belong the aristocratic realm of socio-economic condition. Go to the same socio-economic realm today and you will still find the same nuance and clarity in people, maybe even to a higher degree than back in the 1970s.
I may say that in 20's saying big things like travelling is a out of the box thing but in later future what the traveller guy did was never expected
He is actually smartest guy. He left country for good. He himself said that he may seem like a politician.
Best Phrase from the video "We're not going to a destination; where I am is the destination "
"Where they are now?" Video is too good, watch that as well
Shwetbh react to the interview scene from a Satyajit Ray movie known as 'Pratidandi' It is a bengali movie shot in 1969
I am 27. I cant express myself the way these 20 year olds did.
Social media and Competition has taken Confidence from us...😢
16:40 this guy's words were more impactful as compare any podcast stuff I listen to
Shwetabh bhai boht intuitive aur sympathetic hai.
the part in which he is talking about moving to a new country I relate with him as I used to fantasize about living in Australia and now I am finally living here it doesn't seem real its a very weird feeling
Why iam feeling youth in those times are highly intellectual, intelligent and smart ..they have wider knowledge..then today's show-off youth's.
It's mostly because most of them are from IIT Bombay which implies most of them are from effluent families with rather rich educational background.
stop contradicting yourself lol
1:08 swetabh you are wrong here a bit, my grandpa is belongs to a lower middle class family(he was born on 1948) although he was able to get english education.
This video is beautiful 🤟🏻

And vo 26 ki age mai bhi 17 yrs old ke bachon ke level pr serious hain life ke liya(yaha hum life ke liya bahut pehla serious ho jaata hain...and main toh back banchhor tha )

11:36 has blown my mind
Btw most of them are iitb students that's why they give intellectual answer. See part 2 to know more
Just because they are studying in IIT doesn't mean that they would be mature

Today in India more than 80% people can talk in english but in 60's ,70's and 80's only some fistful of people were able to speak in english ....But there is a difference..
They spoke in british english and today we are speaking american english.
It's basically a 'khichdi' of british and american. Many words which we speak are spoken in british accent/pronounciation for a long time, only the slangs/abbreviations we use are borrowed by us from American TV shows

You can't deny the fact that they are just 20 years old and can speak maturity.Modernity is very shallow and flashy thinking.
A thousand lives encapsulate a myriad of emotions, each brimming with a thousand untold stories, interwoven into the tapestry of humanity. We find ourselves both inheritors and creators of this rich narrative. Within the human experience lies the profound capacity for love, a universal essence that binds us. It's imperative to acknowledge that many are ensnared by the constraints of unfulfilled dreams, concealed beneath the cloak of limited opportunities, while others thrive. This duality, a testament to the complexity of existence, underscores the importance of empathy and social equity in our shared journey.
