Good acting in many of the cases are subjective. Lot of us don't even realize till it is broken down and spoon fed like these videos. It takes multiple factors from direction, editing, background score, leading upto an important scene, act etc to deliver a good final product. It is very hard to get developing countries audiences to the cinema hall in the name of good acting where not many individuals would walk in neither couples and families who just want to have a good time, rather they would notice on a web platform or if it is recent past they would do it through t.v, unless it's an controversial subject where it grabs majority attention at least out of curiosity. and the so called superstars are aware of their limitations and risk it brings in many factors. Even till date we go back to watching the old romantic or comedy movies not necessarily coz they are well made but coz the age or frame of mind you were in it succeeded to convince you.
For me in indian cinema the best actor in versatile characters is sir Kader Khan.
Nawazuddin and Irfan Sir are the most naturals amongst whole bollywood. Whenever I see them it does not feel like they are acting . Absolutely Fantastic actors

I guess mediocre acting in most Indian movies is also due to fact that the movies which have good acting are not well received by masses. Masses in India like over the top dilogue deliver too much machoo action and dance sequences that making a movie with actually good level of acting doesn't seem to make that much buzz in the public hence not profitable to make.
I believe that the large number of mediocre actors in Bollywood are actually the product of the tastes of the masses. As producers aren't fool all they want is money making machines. I'm hopeful that due to advent of internet slow people will improve their tastes. But I think that generic Bollywood is not going anywhere anytime soon.
It is not about acting, anything can't be go above than script, screenplay. A good movie can compensate average acting but a top acting even can't make a movie hit with bad script. Also there are so many good actors Amitabh Bachchan,Amir , dilip kumar,Nana ,Irrfan ,Akshay etc all are love by audience because what they gave to the audience as an actor,entertainer. Dilip kumar was the one who brought up realistic acting in movies but he became the man because the choice of his movies,his ability to connect with audience ,his charisma. Srk never compared to Amitabh Bachchan, dilip kumar when it comes to acting they are like God's but again srk has the charisma to touch audience same with Salman
Bollywood is never seen putting momentum in storyline,acting based movies.. They just make 1 or 2 movie per year while making 100s of shit

But There is something we call Art, creativity.
Indians so called Directors just make films just for minting money. Which is not bad. But what they do is kick creativity out of the frame.
Hollywood film makers not only make films for minting money but also for creativity and uniqueness. They always have the tendency to take risks. Sometimes they fail but majority of them succeed. Indian film makers always scared to take risks.
They are just happy in their comfort zone minting money.
After Ra one failed terribly. They didnt even make any superhero movies for 10 years. They just assumed that Indian audience don't like superhero movies.

Such a great explanation by shwetabh about importance of listening and conversation in theatre, I've been watching some kdramas recommended by you and one thing i noticed is that their acting is too natural, they focus on conversation and dialogues the most.
A person can actually feel the depth and emotional of the words by their delivery and body language.

16:25 Bhai he is one of the greatest actors I have ever seen . I think my words won't do justice to his talent. He is the only actor I have seen who can play an extra and not even once you will think of him as an actor. He genuinely becomes the person. Even if the role wanted him to be a part of the crowd he will become that. He was so great. No wonder PTA worked with him so much.
Watch parallel films of 80s and see what real acting is. Naseeruddin, Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Smita Patil, Farooq Shaikh, Deepti Naval.

Srk and aamir both are great actors. People just hate them because they are too much successful. If they would have been at the same place as of pankaj tripathi ,nawazuddin, manoj vajpayee or irfan khan people would have loved them. It's just the way to tryna be cool. Although all these actors I mentioned above are great. But don't know why people compare them with aamir or srk. All these actors are on same league. Don't compare them coz aamir and srk are more successful than them. SRK , AAMIR KHAN , AMITABH BACHCHAN, NAWAZUDDIN,MANOJ VAJPAYEE , PANKAJ TRIPATHI , KK MENON, IRFAN KHAN , RANBIR KAPOOR are all greatest actors of Indian Cinema.

'Doing multiple roles' and performing every role/character perfectly are 2 very different things. Exactly what this video is talking about. He is more of a hit or miss in terms of acting, he has his moments but then his acting becomes very flat afterwards (happened many times), especially his dialogue delivery if you notice

While I agree with 99% of what it is being portrayed here, SRK as an actor nailed it in My Name is Khan. Such innocent and simple he looked as Rizwan Khan. Moreover he played a mad lover in Darr which was also quite good. Recently the standards are not so good I agree but there are some rare projects where some stereotypical actors did a good job :)

I believe that these movies you mentioned below were just something which was for pure entertainment with all those flashy and over the top scenes. On a Sunday most of the people would like to watch these movies in a theatre rather than the thought provoking ones. But yeah they are overrated and shouldn't be placed that high in terms of quality.

i think there are many commercial actors who are really good actors but of course to get easy and quick money they choose the stupid script with characters with little specification or i don't know they want to act animated specially in the 90's
The movies are also directed in such a way that everything feels like a broadway show or very dramatised .
i stopped watching bollywood when i was 10-11 years old as they were boring compared to pixar and other animated movies i used to watch as a kid and since past 11 years i have been watching movies from various countries.

Don't think about it too much. The fact that you're completely committed to her in this day and age is commendable but to a certain level is out of line and wrong. Remember that things like cheating, backstabbing, manipulation, greed are common things in relationships which even if you haven't experienced till now you most probably will. And don't get me wrong in now way I'm bad mouthing you or your gf but remember all these factors will actually also act as a test for both of you of your character, will power and love. If she fails that test just remember she won't come picking you up when you're down from the feelings of betrayal, the burden of expectations and the failed plans of what you two could've been and done in future. Always keep room in your heart for all of that and keep your expectations low and focus on yourself

Shwetabh says Amir is good actor and where for him srk is average where for Anurag Kashyap , Mahesh Bhatt They rank him above than Amir . Like Shwetabh consider Tom cruise a great actor but Americans don't like he is good with limitations where srk is also a actor who is big, acclaimed but people refer him as overactor because his natural tendency to do more he is not like Sanjay dutt ,Govinda , Amitabh ,Anil etc who can be very big and beleivable, natural at the same time his over the top acting most people feel like overacting . 13:59 I think in India, people don't have enough money to simply go and watch a movie for the sake of enjoying someone else's story. It becomes an occasion where families go together to watch their favourite actor succeed. In Indian cinema, the story revolves around a character or hero, but in Hollywood, all the actors come together to support the story. They don't aim to cater to their individual fan bases.
Young people can easily, a good screen doesn't cost much if people can spare the popcorn/snacks
but you don't have to downplay one or another when you can like both & also have crave for better ,like i have seen many soap operas & movies but will always choose to experience a better movie. In indian cinema story never revolves around a character rather they first pick a hero then think abt character.

Adarsh gourav in the white tiger is much more layered acting than nawaz in raman raghav 2.0 and irfan. He got bafta nomination independent spirit nomination aacta award nomination alongside Anthony Hopkins for the father. First for any Indian actor. It's shame foreigner knows Indian talent while Indian film industry is busy with failed and nepotism actors
