    Outstanding video!
Can you please make a video on remarkable movies like "Before Sunrise" (Before- Trilogy)? The techniques used to create simplicity or simplicity used to create natural behavior on screen? Would love to see your input :) Great work.

A critic and a reviewer are different. A reviewer needs to understand the audience and a critic, the art. A critic will always sound educated and intelligent. Arts courses don't teach you to make art but to talk about art intelligently as if you're 'critiquing', not just reviewing. I realised this in a college course on film and literature. So you're not half wrong.

As Indian audience, we have become habituated with mediocrity so much, that even an average performance is celebrated with much fervour. People don't watch movies with an unbiased opinion. They have built different cults. You can't criticise any a-lister actor, because then you will be ridiculed and bullied by his or her die hard fans. It's like we are ready to worship anything and everything.

      I think calling Aamir Khan an "average actor" is a bit harsh; actually I have always felt that Aamir becoming a Huge Star in the Bollywood system has limited him in his craft; despite this he has tried really hard to attempt different things;
Overall unfortunately in all Film industries, there will always be better meatier roles for Character actors; look at the stuff Nawazuddin gets to do; does anyone think Aamir or Shahrukh will be allowed to try any roles like those? The studios will just not offer them these roles nor will they make any money. In the end, there are great actors and there are some HUGE money makers; very rarely they are the same performer. when they are , like a Brando or Day Lewis or yes an Aamir Khan, then we are lucky as the audience.

I have been watching your videos ardently and even forced my friends to watch them. Every critique that you do strangely leaves me feeling good and self-contemplative. The fear of vulnerability is what stops us from doing most of the things we want to, and yet it is letting go, entering that space and being vulnerable that makes us grow and create something new. Vulnerability is natural in anything worth doing, not something to be cured or forcibly evicted from the thought process. Now, I just want to steal your bookshelf and read what you are reading :)
I love your work. To quote a part from the cryptic preface of "The picture of Dorian Gray", whose meaning i am yet deconstruct in its entirety.
"The artist is the creator of beautiful things.
To reveal art and conceal the artist is art’s aim.
The critic is he who can translate into another manner or a new material his impression of beautiful things."

Not gonna talk about his romantic drama, which are even different than his suspense romantic like Dil Se. On the other hand Dil Se, Raju Ban Gaya Gentle Man showed his natural direction. Devdas, k3, Rab Ne, Darr... showed the industry's most expressive face, even more than top actresses. What made him world's most unreal actor. In the 90s, Indian audiance didn't have access to GREAT acting, so average acting was considered good. I'm happy that after seeing good movies and acting, our generation understands what good acting actually is. Happy to see the audience now accepts who the real A List actors are based on skills(like Rajkumar Rao, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Irfan Khan, Ayushman Khurana, Manoj Bajpai) rather than still giving the titles to average actors like SRK, Amir, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan. That's why the Indian audiance trolls star kids like Varun, Tiger, Ananya, Sara, Janhvi, Suhana, Khushi, Agastaya and etc etc for their acting skills and doesn't let them get away with it. Their problem is they still think they can get away with this kind of skill because the Indian audience are fools and will accept whatever they give in the name of 'acting'. I'm really proud we're evolving. Tollywood is way better than Bollywood and Hollywood acting is just way out of league for what Bollywood actors do

Great job bro. Just wanted to tell you that you are creating exceptional content. There are many analysis channels on RUclips- ScreenPrism, Cinefix, Now you see it, etc to name a few. They make analysis videos of only western classics and dont give a dime about Indian classics (there are many but not as much as foreign classics). I always fear that indian classics like Guide, Jaane Bhi Do Yaron, A Wednesday, Haider, Aligarh, Shahid, Black Friday, Lagaan, Mother India, Udaan, Kagaz ke phool, Works of Satyajit Ray (he was the prime inspiration for Martin Scorsese), and many thousands others will be lost in time if not given enough appreciation. Our audience is gradually getting mature and it will become a pity to see our generation appreciate only Western classics. They need to be made aware of the treasure troves of the Indian Cinema not necessarily Bollywood. And u are the only youtuber (as seen from your videos) who has the calibre to take this responsibility of embracing World Cinema rather than saturating only towards only one section of World culture (which unfortunately others are doing). You have already impressed many by analysing movies like Swades, GOW, Rang De Basanti, etc. Also this will help you create your own Niche in this competitive market. High hopes from you.
Great luck to your channel in the future.

I saw a Ted talk by Joseph Gordon-Levitt a couple days back. It is brilliant and I urge everyone to watch it, but primarily, I want to point out that around the 11 minute mark in that talk, he mentions how acting is just sincerely reacting to your co-actors in a scene, just like the second last point mentioned in this video. It is in a different context than here, but both mentions reaffirm each other.
And this channel is producing unprecedentedly brilliant content, all my respect and admiration to the creator and his team!

This channel made my day. I have been looking for detailed analysis like this from an Indian perspective! Thanks for all the videos. I have been binge watching all of them today.
I truly appreciate the work that has gone behind every video, the breadth of content is amazing. And the analysis is not dumbed down and introduces you to new ways of thinking. Really impressive!

Watching this for the umpteenth time. Love how you have used the female as the generic gender when referring to an actor... 'Her' 'Herself' 'She'. The fact that this stands out is reflective of how one sided this choice has always been

1.This was your best video essay. Would love if your essay were more frequent.
    2. You should use film captions and write the music used in the description. What was the music that was played during the Kappor and Sons scene and the one after that?
    3. What are your thoughts about the works of people who have been accused of sexual misconduct ( especially Woody Allen )
    4. What did think of Varun Dhawans performance in Badlapur?
    5. Loved the fact that u used a clip from 'Interior Café'. It was one of the best short film that I have seen this year

The music you want is from the Fargo soundtrack. A common favourite among video essayists.
ruclips.net/video/W4NCC0dUXks/видео.html here you go, it's a very endearing and enduring piece of cinema music.

As usual just awesome!! Loved it when u added Ashok Saraf's flawless acting from a legendary marathi film. Don't u think we, as an audience, are responsible for creating these garbage actors when we hand them over 100 crore revenue ? I almost watched all of aforementioned films here & none of them earned enough to be considered successful financially.

Dungeon Master If a filmmaker tries out of the box idea, film gets branded as an art-film/parallel cinema then it will not earn as mainstream. Then garbage movies earns 100 crore again mainstreamwalas cry -look this is what public want. I think that's catch 22 situation

@@rohitbhore3825 Well there are many good mainstream movies who collected 100,300 crore . There are many bad movies in Hollywood which collects millions, billions . Hollywood movies superhero, action are far superior in box office than artistic ones
