I don't know what other people think but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It has lots and lots of dramatic scenes and acting but it was supposed to be like that. Like you see those dramas which are little exaggerated but you still like it because it looks like over the top. This movie was supposed to be dramatic and was to be enjoyed the way it is.

The og novel of this movie is actually on another level...I dont know about the movie as I never watched it but every novel of Sorotchondro Chottopadhay is great and I've been reading it since my childhood ,say either Devdas or Srikanto or Pother Dabi or Biraj Bou...everything is narrated so beautifully in so simple way , that it blows my mind...That's why we Bengalee call him Kathasilpi (narration artist )...Sorotchondro Chottopadhay is one of the best bengali novelist of early 20th century
Bhansali destroyed this masterpiece of novel . Mann , Paro is such a great character in this real story but this guy destroyed it
