This is ironic; you pay more just for less; a McLaren branding and no storage. Absolute mental with their decisions, considering I'm a student carrying a lot of things and a laptop is one of 'em!
Duuuuuuude, Love that you made this video. Tumi bags of this type and even the Arrive line always confuse me. I am a Bravo user and collector - those bags are functional as hell. I may be confused about the LV $1400 to $2500 backpacks that also don't even fit a standard laptop in them very well or the $5000 Hermes backpack that cannot fit a laptop in it. I don't understand why someone would get one of these when they are so very far from functional. These two are at least functional but are far from value. N=The navigation or any of the Bravo bags would be more practical, but just not in these materials. I guess Tumi makes some cash from them, but I don't see how. The one thing that I see is that once they are gone from a run, they become very expensive because you can't get them anywhere. Still, as a backpack - Evem the SHepherd is just a much more functional bag, and I cannot understand handing over the catch for this, haha. Rant over. Great video and I love that you did the review without begin g negatively in any way - you told it as it is and were fair. They are beautiful, though and if the look alone was what you were paying for, either one is a winner. That carbon fibre is lovely looking.....but at $1000. Wow.
There is another pocket, for the laptop. Which is not covered in this video. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m planning to buy this, would like to know more. Thank you !
Not sure how I didn't touch in the laptop compartment in this video, mind must have been busy. Yes it can hold a 16" MacBook easily and has a tablet sleeve inside the laptop compartment, too.
Hmm. The straps on this one look like they can extend out pretty long to accommodate larger bodies. Are these straps longer than the ones on the Nomadic, or would you say they're comparable?
The straps on the "fancy" bags like the McLaren and Arrive lines all have a different curve to them that make it awkward to wear with the strap extended, they contour around the shoulder very aggressively so it's best to wear them tight. They do extend pretty long, but against a larger body, I'm not sure how the geometry will line up, it may feel like the edge of the straps are cutting you rather than resting on you. Just my thoughts!
I have this bag and I bought it as my "personal item" for air travel. I think it is great! However, this bag is absolutely not for hiking. They made the bag narrow in order to meet dimensions for certain airlines. The large open compartment allows me to carry a toiletry bag and shoes, for example. Slides on to my roller carry on, but gives me a backpack when I am in-country (as opposed to a briefcase). However, the external charger does NOT charge my MacBook, though it will charge my iPhone. Using with the Wally Pro charger.
Thank you! I don't travel much for work but I do take my laptop, ipad and daily carry stuff with me to work and almost everywhere. Tumi bags are the end result of carrying expensive laptops and wanting the best design and quality bag I could find. I hate the parachute material I find in almost every other brand lol.
@@Dev_Neon there’s no built in battery pack, it’s more like an extension cord. You connect the cord to your own battery pack, then you can use the port outside the bag. But you’d just charge your own battery pack from a wall yea.

I bought the Suitcase Version of this and got $800 off of it. I drive Sport Cars and love these bags... it came with my dad's Lexus LFA in 2012 and ever since I've been hooked...
I really appreciate your offer! I think im a bit too nervous to accept due to the value of that incredible case, wouldn't risk it to go through more shipping than it has to. Are you Houston-based by any chance?
Great video but please you need a floor tripod for the mic. It picks up every bump and sound you do in the desk and is very uncomfortable when watching using headphones. Thank you!
I don't hate them at all, I just determine that they're not very organized or practical compared to the majority of Tumi's other backpacks. I absolutely love the way they look!
I do spend good money on tumi, but the key for me has been to buy bags and sell them online for a profit. I use the $100 to $200 i make on a bag to feed the hobby, otherwise no way could i afford these things!
@@BioGear Good! Please do more videos about TUMI.. i keep searching about Tumi x Razer sling bag and the laptop sleeve one, but they're not very detail about the bag.. by the way, which Tumi backpack do you think fits, simple and casual enough for the office bag ? Thanks bro..
@@indyrahmawati9910 the razer stuff was unfortunately a flop, they should have selected better bags for the collab. As for office use, i think Harrison backpacks are super clean, such as the warren or bradner. My favorite set is Arrive but they cost more. These seem like such a fail. You mention they’re “status” bags, but I don’t think these are going to impress anyone. 99% of people won’t even notice, and the ones who do know bags will think you’re a fool for spending so much money on something like this.
I still gets compliments, its a sharp looking bag. I happened to use it today. Yes plenty of people will never get why someone would spend so much on a backpack, but that applies to anything that people create premium versions of (cars, laptops, clothing). You can always get better value for cheaper, but some of us go for the high-end, which is why I love making videos of premium backpacks on this channel. 😄
The orange trim makes it look so futuristic.
Appreciate the review and it is spot on. Picked up the Papaya version and being simple works for me. Great looking bag.
I still love my Tumi esports large backpack. Love your reviews. Keep it up!
Esports still my favorite line of bags for sure
You forgot the LAP pocket in the back!
Seriously have no idea how I didn’t cover that lol.
Thanks for this. Your smart, thorough review just saved me $1600 :)

You didn’t open the back of the first bag. There is another compartment I just learned that on mine. It unzips at the seam.
I know, completely forgot on that video take, had mentioned it in the description lol. Yes it holds a good size laptop and tablet in there.

Is there a 2nd zipper in the back for a laptop or not? I see a zipper but you didnt talk about it
Yes, sorry I did several takes and forgot to mention it that go. There's a zipper for the laptop compartment with a tablet pocket inside.
Which one do you prefer personally? carbon edition or orange line?
The carbon model, i remember when orange came out i though “wheres all the carbon fiber?” And now i have it. 😄 will likely let the orange model go.
