      fully waterproof bags are rare to come by - I've reviewed 300+ bags and I don't think I've ever actually tested one. Diving bags are usually the most waterproof. If you are looking for water resistant, then some ideal bags are Black Ember Forge, Mous Extreme Commuter with Lid, and WANDRD Duo

    All backpack reviews seem to fit into 3 categories, everyday use, weekend trips, and long trips. But there aren't any videos I can find tailored to business trips. If you could make a video in the following theme, you'd get all the views.
    What's a good backpack that would be good for a Monday to Friday trip (4 nights) where you need to pack 4 days of business cloths, 2 laptops (1 is 17 inches and the other is 13") and dress shoes? The LTT backpack caught my eye first and got me interested to replace by carry-on/laptop bag combo, but the LTT one is 25L which seems a bit small. Since I've never owned a travel backpack, I don't really have a good frame of reference. Since the 13" laptop is my work laptop, I'd just need to add a small bag for it that I could use after getting to my hotel. Though I imagine some people would like the expanding backpacks so they can make it small if they have more work gear to transport during the day. Could it be done with one that is personal size or would it need to be carry-on size?

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  Год назад

      very interesting. I see how this is a very specific use case - particularly the business clothes/shoes element. Do you think its common for people on business trips to have two laptops though?

    Hey Aaron! A fan from the PH. I'm a recent sub who literally binged all your vids within 7 days. I love your energy and looking forward to the backpack you've designed with your team from the ground up!
    What's your opinion on the Bellroy Transit bag's back and strap? I really want it but I feel that they cost cut by not adding thick padding and mesh at the back of their backpacks. I feel this is a huge oversight for the prices they charge which are commensurate to the AER bags which in turn have fantastic padding and comofrt as you pointed out. I would go for AER but like you said I prefer the "quirky urban" aesthetic of Bellroy. So what's up with all their bags not having mesh and padding?? Or am I missing out on something here? So far the APEX seems to be their only bag with mesh in the back (and don't get me started on the controversy of the straps loosening). Keep it up brotha!

    • @Nomads.Nation
      @Nomads.Nation  Год назад +1

      Thanks my dude! IMO Bellroy prioritizes lightweight bags with perfect aesthetics. The Transit series is a great example of this - the straps look sexy and aren't heavily padded. But this obviously comes with cons (lack of comfort). If comfort is your priority, you'll def want to look more towards the Aer side of things. Check out their Olive Green bags - def less 'dark' looking than their normal packs

      @@Nomads.Nation I like a horizontal strap across my chest. I have a feeling, that this prevent the backpack from "floating". By that I mean that the wind drags the backpack and creating an airgap between my back and the bag.
      It should be able to contain a 16" laptop. Breakfast (I normally bring a 1 liter bucket of yoghurt and a container with blueberries to work every two days as breakfast) + daily lunch. Also I need to have space for a mouse, sun glasses, reading classes. My Sony MX4 headphone and some papers.
      I doesn't need to be 100% water proof. Most of the rain will not hit the backpack due to turbulence and moving quickly. But water resistant is a must. Would also be great if the backpack would work on short hikes and city trips.

    Honestly, I clicked the video to see what you were going to provide as ‘work backpacks.’ Your list is primarily trendy ‘weekender’ or ‘digital/social media’ backpacks. When you say ‘work pack packs,’ provide alternatives to Tumi, Briggs and Riley, Samsonite, etc. those stuffy backpacks aren’t valuable or at least for me, they are clunky and not really well planned out. I understand you are all about traveling, but us business people who are in airplanes every week whether domestic and/or international, are looking for insight. Unfortunately this video was a swing and a miss. Cyber punk would not be a work backpack people would look for to use for business, travel, etc. Style, space, laptop protection and usability are key. Most of us don’t care about camera gear, vlogging paraphernalia or tripod storage…make one for those of us that are seeking true work backpacks. Travel friendly, practical, stylish and excellent quality. I have watched other videos of yours and this was first one I was truly disappointed with. My $0.02 for your next video.

      Appreciate your .02! I think it's important to remember that these are 'work' bags, not 'traditional business' bags. People work in lots of different ways theses days - some are hoodie-wearing entrepreneurs like myself, but there are also graphic designers, coders, tech founders and others that need to find cool (sometimes cyberpunk) work bags as well

    A word of caution for those seeking reviews/first-hand experiences about the Sympl Weekender bag on Reddit. There are two accounts that are shilling this bag on almost every single reddit thread about a post inquiring about this Sympl Weekender bag (or any Sympl product). It looks like they're employees of the company, since their post history is only and always shilling Sympl products.
    I mention this because I was so close to pulling the trigger on this bag, but have second thoughts now after finding this out. And because of how other users were mentioning that Sympl was "doing their best to suppress my legitimate feedback online." when the feedback was negative.
    Just my 2 cents of going down the rabbit hole lol, still looking for my EDC bag.
