At 3:22 that panel gap on the top of the B pillar is absolutely ridiculous and should be unacceptable on a car of this level. Then again, nowadays it seems like luxury is defined by the size of the screens a car has. However this does feel like a nice upgrade compared to the previous model.

As a chauffeur myself i rarely use any autonomous driving features. I drive a 2020 745Le and I feel the cruise control is a bit too harsh in braking and the lane assist just bounces you in the lane which causes roadsickness

Fuel consumption doesn't matter unless the fuel tank isn't big enough... I mean, with 60l/100km you have to have half a ton of fuel onboard to travel 800km/500 miles... Although I suppose its highway consumption is a lot better than that

Totally agree with you. If I want to travel business class I would buy the s-class. If I want to travel first class I would buy a Rolls Royce Phantom. I really wish Mercedes took design cues from Maybachs of pre-WW2 and incorporated them into the modern Maybachs. From far away this looks like another s-class. What BMW did with rolls Royce is that they took the essence of rolls Royce cars from yesteryear and captured them in the cars we see today. As a result they are imposing, luxurious and have presence.

I hate to see all the british kids in the chat saying RR is the most luxurious... just compare the technology and interior of this with any RR. The interior of a RR looks like 2010 the merc is more like 2030
if you have been in a Rolls Royce then you would not say such things. The Maybach is lovely with leather, chrome and tech, but it doesn't give the same feeling of exclusivity as the Rolls Royce. Also Rolls Royce ride is a completely different level. Not even Bentleys come close to it. Also, all RR cars have customizable, handmade interiors which gives the interior some special touch. And as for the interior being outdated, go check out the new 2021 Rolls Royce Phantom.
RR is German anyway. Even their designer ist German. It’s just a bmw with some extras. Never understood those Brits. None of their cars are britisch anymore. From the used tech, up to the design. Mostly German. And those brands that don’t belong to VW BMW or MB, are part of a indisch company 🤷🏼♂️

if you have been in a Rolls Royce then you would not say such things. The Maybach is lovely with leather, chrome and tech, but it doesn't give the same feeling of exclusivity as the Rolls Royce. Also Rolls Royce ride is a completely different level. Not even Bentleys come close to it. Also, all RR cars have customizable, handmade interiors which gives the interior some special touch. And as for the interior being outdated, go check out the new 2021 Rolls Royce Phantom.
If I want tech, I would buy an audi. Or a smartphone.

Seriously: you are talking bullshit, because these modern Mercedes-Maybach versions are still Mercedes products. It's the same with Mercedes-AMG vehicles, which are also still Mercedes products.
Mercedes-Maybach vehicles are on a totally different market position than Rolls Royce Ghost for example. Therefore a bespoke car construction like for the old Maybach cars from 20 years ago would make no sense at all for Mercedes-Benz, because it's too expensive, period. Mercedes-Benz finally have learned from that period.
The actual Mercedes-Maybach versions will be very successful on its different markets, like their predecessor cars.

At this price you would expect the chrome exterior window trim to line up. You would never see this on a Bentley or RR.
