I just got 2 traxxas hawks bodies and I have to paint them. I said let me go on youtube to look up some tutorials on how to paint lexan and boom yours pop up. You are the best man and you are important to the RC community with all your advice and help. Thanks a lot bro keep up the great work!
Awww, that's awesome man, thanks so much for all the support, and the kind words. I love this hobby, and there's so many wicked people here, I feel lucky to be a part of it. Good luck with the bodies, man. Feel free to message me on fb or email me if you have any questions! 👊🏼
Watched a few videos on prepping before I start my first body. I believe this was one of my favorites by far. Great job! Thanks so much. 🎶 Secret destroyers....🎶
On your wheel arches it really helps to cut shy of the line and use a sanding drum on a dremel to finish. You get smoother lines and avoid and stress risers that result in cracked bodies later. I generally sand all the edges to smooth it out, but the curved sections it really matters.
As a former painter an added step I would recommend is wearing rubber gloves once it's clean to handle. The slightest bit of oil from your skin can and will mess up a paint job.
Awesome video, very informative. I has just painting a new caldera body for my dad and didn't clean it twice... Now I've got couple little spots were the paint didn't stick. Wish I'd seen this video yesterday you are right about rule #1fil, clean clean clean! I'm trying rustolium paint let you know if it works🤙
Hey buddy glad you enjoyed the video! I had bad luck with Rustoleum on Lexan in the past, poor adhesion. These days I only use Tamiya PS, or auto body paints. I'll put together a paint tutorial vid this weekend! Good luck with your body and Merry Christmas my friend!!! 🤙
@@poorboysrc I almost went for the J45c body, but i think I'll save a Toyota body for when I get an RC4WD. I didn't think I'd like scale over performance, but it turns out I do. Merry Xmas buddy
Fil! these body finishing video's of yours are my go to resource when doing lexan work. Thanks much for putting this info up for all of us. I did have one question for you, is there a method you could recommend to polish scratches out of the windows? I run a camera inside the body and clear windows are a priority for me. Cheers! Sorry, I just thought of a second question lol. Is it possible to use a brush for paint touchups? Like spray some of the ps paint into a little cup and then use it with a bruch to do some detail or trim on the body.
That's wicked dude! I'm glad these videos are helping you out! 👊 As for polishing the lexan, I'm sure you can do it, it would just be a matter of selecting the right polish for the job. Now, I've never done it before, so I'm not speaking from experience, but in theory, it should work just fine. Perhaps another video idea.... 🤔 As for your touch up question. Yes, you definitely can do what you're thinking of. But be sure to use body lines to mask off of, it helps fool the eye into not seeing the repair. I covered this subject in this video: ruclips.net/video/fxpGzMNURSY/видео.html Hopefully that helps! 🍻

I need to pick up some new sanding drums, that's a really good idea, I need to try it out. Thanks for the tip!
"Trip to the bathroom", hilarious!
Lol! 👊

Hot Rod Black is Cool ! Do you know where I can find early 1950’s Style 1/10th scale Rims ?
I've come across them randomly on shapeways and ebay, but there doesn't seem to be much out there.
@@poorboysrc I might have To do some Wheel Customs
Good job, but you could have saved on the water though!
Ah, water is cheap and crappy paint mistakes drive me bananas! Lol! 👊
Get an air compressor and also a heat gun.
Heat gun works great! 👍🏻
Decals, lol
Or is it deeecals? 🤔 🤣🤣🤣
