Just to add as an avionics tech who was part of a Canadian F-18 squadron. And for those who may not know this...
There's actually two flight control computers (FCC) with two channels each. So, first FCC is channels 1&2, second is 3&4. Notice the configuration on the display so if you lose the first FCC, for example, the left aileron would still work due to channel 4 of the second FCC.
It's all about redundancy in case of failure or getting shot up. Just like the physical channels are split up as well, think wire bundles, two channels along the top of the aircraft and two along the bottom.
And, of course, each FCC has one channel along the top and the other along the bottom. Wouldn't want to lose an FCC just because the wire bundles on the bottom of the aircraft get shot up, lol. It really is all about redundancy.

The AoA does work in flight. For example, you can use the trim to set the AoA to 8 on the FCS page rather than the E bracket in the hud when landing. If you so wished. Good vid!

Any idea why my pitch trim on the F18 doesn't move the STAB?

Is it just me or is the trim really slugish? I've even tried re-mapping the key and it still has trouble adjusting when I try to change the trim

If you want to get fancy, some sort of track ir is great. There are cheap ways to go at it. I recommend delanclip, but be warned it's challenging to setup compared to the fully fledged products. What I did was, I found opentrack profile for A-10 on the internet and just used that for dcs and all aircraft with couple changes.

I have used the logitech 3d pro for fairly long now and all i can say is that its really enjoyable to play

Flappy_Boi I know this is a year late, but I too can afford only the logitech extreme 3D pro. there's only ONE thing I detest about it: the twist---or rudder----fails within about 3 months. A small dead spot and or spots of excess response develop, making it difficult to calibrate or tune. I try to be mindful of that and minimize strain as best I can. Other than that, though, it's definitely configurable enough and the pitch and roll are pretty durable.
