The altitude alert is NOT a blast/fragmentation height warning.
It is to prevent target fixation or horizon confusion - to keep pilots from flying into the ground or a hill - and it changes based on pitch/speed/altitude.
You can, and will, still run a risk of damaging your plane above the altitude warning.

A lesson I learned from the A-10C is using the trim to help keep the pipper on the bomb line. That way you're constantly increasing the stability of your plane along with making minor adjustments.
@@ItzMeCasey the one time i was successful in midair refueling it was through near constant use of only the trim

@@Gabriel4Drummer yes, but using it manually for extremely fine adjustments helps out a lot.

Very good explanation. You are of course right in saying that lower altitude will give better precision - but who would like to bomb a shooting convoy from 200 feet? Oh yes - a lot of the Grim Reapers pilots have done this - AND WERE SHOT DOWN. For shooting target always use AUTO from a safe altitude = at least 5.000 feet. If we talk AAA then 10.000 feet

If someone hasn't answered your TTI why question its so you can tell ground how long to impact for in particular danger close drops as they need to know when to put the heads down. More important when using high altitude drops as 20 seconds in a fire fight can last for ever.
why not just say bombs dropped, and ground troops hold their heads down for 10-30 (or how ever long it takes) seconds entirely as opposed to encouraging troops to duck down at the last second. thats just a wild idea thrown in the wind tho, i have no expeirience or actual reasoning to doubt you, just curious is all.

One thing I'm not sure about is whether when you designate a target point and set up a ripple on auto - presumably this is the start of the bombs being dropped, or is it the centre of the ripple?

TTI, you might need to know that for purposes of staying clear of the bomb perhaps, or maybe in reference to ground troops.
so AUTO mode - do you hold weapons release button in while the auto drop sign comes down...or does it release itself like in the A10a in ccrp mode?
are there any key bindings to the computer armament / bomb screen buttons? i want to be able to press keys while in 3rd person and just bombs away. Or is this game/ plane not really like that

My CCIP bombs always fall short of the target. I have released the bomb excatly (!) when the cross was over the tank but the bomb falls 100 m short. Very annoying. Is this a DCS bug?
Could you possibly do an episode on drag bombing because you can’t get low without it becoming dud with the new patch so i’ve had troubles
Seconded, when flying under 1100ft with any pitch under 0 I receive the dud symbol as well. I tried the drag bombing training mission last night several times and there is no bomb configuration for ballutes or snake eyes which allows for a high speed low altitude delivery, they simply don't arm. Very frustrating.

I don’t know wtf happened to my game but it will NOT drop any weapons or fire the gun. Even with master arm on, a/g mode, everything programmed in, weapon selected. Tried using the gun in a/a mode too and it doesn’t fire. I don’t know what the hell is going on. It was fine before but now it doesn’t work at all no matter what.
I cant do CCIP bombing mode either I keep missing by a few feet...hahah. Its fucking hard. I find it funny though..if you put an Mk-84 on your wing...and then you start rolling to the left or right..and your like.."Oh no" is my controller fucked up...no, you have a 2000 pound bomb on your wing....hahahah. so yeah your gonna roll....

I seriously suck at CCIP mode...I zoom in all the way..I even have that cheat on where it shows the enemy with its name..like multi player style. I see the fucker...The "Cross" is on the target...and I fucking miss everytime...I laugh everytime....Not that I don't want to destry this fucking tank..but its still funny..how terrible I am.
Bastards...Droping boms is really hard..go with Auto or CCRP or just use a fucking MAverick this shit is impossible...probably why I am not a real fighter pilot..haha..
