@Kyubey It's not perfect that's for sure (first Xenoblade is) but what you state is mostly preference. Battle system was great. My comment is based on someone who said the Game was bad and he plays League Of Legends and Cs Go
@Kyubey almost everything in 2 is better than 1. Especially the story. I don't understand where this meme comes from, 1's story and especially its characters are very weak and the Bionis and Mechonis don't hold a candle to ANY titan from 2 or even Mira. 1 had such bland and boring worldbuilding that 2 had to redo the premise with much better execution, AND doesn't abandon almost all characters at the last third of the game unlike 1.
@@Derekuko Well honestly, I think the story in 1 was way better. The voice acting was also way better. But the world building and lore in 2 is untouchable. It's so interesting and complex. But it's plot is so cliche and lame. Just compare the stories. In 1, that probably has the greatest start to any video games I've ever seen. A battle between the people of bionis and mechonis. Mechon return and kill the village and an important character. Mission to exact revenge on that mechon. It was so surprising, and so personal. The game made it seem like these were our main characters, and just swiped one out from under our feet. Our main character has a clear purpose, and we the players are with him all the way. Now look at 2. Salvager accepts shady mission. Just dies on the mission. Makes a promise to an overpowered blade girl (most cliched anime thing ever). Comes back to life. Together they want to go to elysium. Random parties try to steal the overpowered girl on their adventure. It feels pretty standard. Not to mention, very impersonal. This dude dedicates everything to get this half dressed hot girl to where she wants. There's literally nothing else that explains his purpose. He wants elysium for everyone sure, but the entire time it's just pyra this mythra that. Then there's the whole kid thing. He's like 15, yet all the adults just let him do whatever and follow him all the way. His reasoning for everything, friendship. And then everyone just agrees with him. It's the same stuff that makes me cringe in anime. Also this is a side note for 1, but the side characters kind of know their place. Shulk, fiora, reyn, and dunban are actual friends for many years already. So they can be all close, touchy, teasing each other and everything. The newbies, sharla and melia, they're kinda new so they don't overstep their boundaries. And riki is a nopon with no manners so its fine for him. It's just something I hate when character who are barely familiar with each other will suddenly act so close. Not here. But in 2, freaking rex and pyra acting as if their a couple or sibblings or something so quickly. Also, it's story was told with either only text based dialog, or full cinematic cutscenes in 2. In 1, most of it was told through voiced cutscenes that acted like dialog, so you could go through the dialog quickly, while also getting animation and voice. In 2, they spoke so damn slow, and there was no way to speed it up. But I must say, the heart to hearts are the goldilocks zone in xeno 2. They're voiced and they act as text boxes. Not to mention they talk quite a bit faster. It feels natural, and I think instead of having full cutscenes for main story dialog, they should have just done that instead.
@@dugtrioramen I just wonder if you even paid attention while playing the game or just didn't even think at all. The Monadology in xb1 can't carry such generic shounen plot and characters. Half the characters coming from the same old town really kills it for me. Rex has wanted to go to Elysium all his life, ever since his parents died. Pyra was just a means to finally achieve his dream. And the characterization of Pneuma, Logos, and Ontos is phenomenal and fits perfectly in the sense with Id, ego, and superego. Not to mention that after Mechonis Hand in 1, every character except Fiora is tossed away and she becomes a boring focus for the rest of the game, it's hilariously bad written.
