I like how Rex promises to take Pyra to Elysium, and yet this is as close to Elysium as we get- the home. There's definitely a better way to explain this but basically home/where friends are = Elysium
Rex isn’t born in Leftheria (the ideal of Elysium) yet he was raised in it, he knows what it’s like and as such believes it could truly be real. Man i love xenoblade 2
Funny thing is, the mountain of clouds is effectively the map border of alrest. In older games especially, crossing say the bottom border would make you reappear at the top. This just had an in-game reason for that occasion.
In the first Xenoblade game (definitive edition introduced me to the series) the Fallen Arm was my favorite area. It was my second home. In this game, this area was my favorite. My home.
Bionis Shoulder in Future Connected was my favorite area from XC1. Fallen Arm is my second favorite from that game though. Just looking up and seeing yourself in between the Bionis and Mechonis is incredible.
Yeah I've always loved fallen arm as well. Thr way it ties into the story as a geographical result of fighting titans is just really cool on its own, and it's beautifully designed and very distinct in general, as well as coming at a point in the game where the story is so perfectly escalating and you find one last hidden refuge
XC2 has incredible music, but this one is the only one that truly give me both peace and awe at the same time. It feels like the music lifts you gently into the air, rendering you weightless, cradling you gently against a backdrop of jet black night and endless stars.
I don't think I appreciate Leftheria enough when I first played the game. It's such a beautiful place with and absolutely magical song. Just walking from island to island looking at all the small landmasses floating around and the endless Cloud Sea stretching into the distance gives me such an amazing feeling.
Currently doing a replay, years later, and as the more mature version of myself that I now am, I am so spending my time approaching this area, I often leave my character there to have that music in the background as I do chore or whatever. It's not my only place, I have "in game" playlist where I know I can leave my character ha
Mor Ardain and Tantal might have some banger music, but Leftheria will always be my favorite. It’s by far the most creative Titan, the scenery is god-tier, and the music just melts my heart, no matter how many times I listen to it... geez, I love this game 🥰

However, even the Spirit Crucible may seem like a massive place, (which it is) i wouldn't even be suprised if it makes up less than 10% of the total area inside the central titan, TBH. But yeah, Leftheria is (or is home to, depending on whether the central titan would be called Leftheria, which i kinda doubt for some reason...) BY FARRRR the largest titan in XC2, and also the entire series.
This is my favorite track from XC2 and with the announcement of XC3 being released this July, I'm so excited to hear what makes that games soundtrack stand out from what came before it. Takahashi has already said the flute is gonna be an integral piece to its soundtrack, so I can't wait to see what they do musically with that game!

It's strange how people praise 3 for it's more ambiant and softer world themes but 2 and 1 have some very good ambient themes. This theme really exemplifies that.
@@DayFul I don’t know, Ethryian Sea is magical 2 minutes in. Weight of Life is one of my favorite Xeno songs, and some battle themes are great. XC2 has probably some of the best overworld themes, but I think XC3 has the best battle and cutscene themes.
@@puppy14 Ethryian sea is the best overworld theme in the game and I prefer the main battle theme to XB2. I just feel XB2 hits more times and tries more genres particularly the first half of the game, Some of the night themes are gems as well.

Not weird at all! I completed my first playthrough of this game back in August 2020 and listening to this already makes me mindblowingly nostalgic. Happens to me pretty easily lmao.

It is worth to note that while this piece is alluding to XC1's Eryth Sea it was not composed by Manami Kiyota, but by ACE. Realized this because I tried to listen to every piece in the XC2 OST and name the composer, then checking the Wiki who really composed it. This is one of the few tracks where I guessed wrong.
@@tdark987 I think most of the environments go in the same order for both games with 1 exception and correct me if I messed up Plains, swamp, forest/desert, sea, royalty capital, whatever prison island and temperentia are, cold, and that's all I've got.

It’s been 10 years since I lost my mother. 6 years for my dad. This franchise saved y life so many times. Today is my mother’s birthday and tomorrow is mine. I can’t enjoy Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or Christmas because my mother and my birthday fall around there. My father’s birthday is around there and he passed away Christmas Day.
6:45-6:55 ish just reminds me of Haze and my mom for some reason. When I first heard it in game I just felt so sad...especially after Haze's death. As for why it reminds me of my mother, I have no idea. I just get sad listening to it and nostalgic about a group of friends in a world I've never been to

I love this track so much and the zone itself is beautiful, I recently finished the game but i'll be coming back to hear the ost long after that it's up there with the best.
The only day theme that, in my opinion, matches its night theme in terms of greatness. This is an absolutely wonderful theme and 0:49-1:13 in particular gives me the most wonderful chills.
Late, but Uraya's day theme is fine, but I feel its night theme lets me take in its atmosphere better, Argentum's day theme is one that I don't really like at all, and Mor Ardain is one that I'll concede on.
I beat Xenoblade 2 about four years ago, and I haven't gone back to any song as much as this one. It's just absolutely beautiful. Stunning yet calming. Just like the actual Leftherian Archipelago it's absolutely beautiful and stands out from the rest of the tracks in this game. A lot of people don't like Xenoblade 2, and 1 and 3 are definitely great games, but whenever I hear this song, I remember the life I had when I heard it for the first time. It was a really different time for me individually, and for the world as a whole, but this song somehow manages to remind me that in spite of it all, I'm still the same bright-eyed person I was four years ago when I got my copy of Xenoblade 2 from Gamestop.
Fun fact: Mipha and Sidon's themes are based off l their names! Sidon's goes Si (So in English) Do Si Do Si. Mipha goes Me fa me fa me. Pretty cool reference imo

Never played this game in my life, but briefly gives me the vibes that Sky: Children of the Light's Sanctuary Islands theme has, mostly in the first 30 seconds- has a really nice feel to it. Even if I really don't vibe with this game and prefer the first, a lot of the music is pretty good. Gotta give it that.

Ich habe Stardew Valley gespielt und nebenbei den OST von Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gehört. Als dieses Lied begann, hatte ich gerade das Heißluftballon-Date mit Harvey! Das hatte sooo gut gepasst! Wenn ich diesen Song jetzt höre muss ich immer daran zurück denken.

Never played this game in my life, but briefly gives me the vibes that Sky: Children of the Light's Sanctuary Islands theme has, mostly in the first 30 seconds- has a really nice feel to it. Even if I really don't vibe with this game and prefer the first, a lot of the music is pretty good. Gotta give it that.

@@rosheafan tbh I may go play it, I was judging based on stuff other people said and I'm really turning away from that way of evaluating media now. I meant that I heard some of the bad press, especially artistically, and so I sort of recoiled. Eh, worth a shot tho.

Tbh I prefer this song to the battle theme,the Mor Ardain Theme,Gormoth theme and basically any other theme but Uraya's capital night and the World Tree's theme
