  • When it's game time you want to be comfortable, right? If at home you don't want to move furniture around and space can be limited. On the road a hotel bed isn't an ideal seat, plain and simple. In either event, you want your stuff handy whether it's snacks, drinks, headsets or controllers. This is where the Foldable Gaming Chair comes into play.
    Looking like a posh camping chair and with the same ease of portability, this seat offers much more padding for those longer gaming sessions. It supports up to 350 lbs. and was designed to have all of your game session essentials at hand.
    We go to a LOT of conventions, so having a take along seat like this is ideal to us! Join us as we unbox and take a closer upper look, and then have a seat and with Tears of the Kingdom's recent release, a Zelda game is the perfect long form gamer session to truly try this chair out!
    Full disclosure, while the Foldable Gaming Chair Company DID supply us with this chair, this review and our opinions are 100% pure and truly our own in this review.

    I’ve had this chair for about a month now. I’m a big guy 6ft 240lbs. It is definitely more comfortable than a camping chair, but the support bar does dig into my legs and it bothers me a lot. I think there should be more padding around that bar, especially for the price of the chair. This probably wouldn’t be as much of an issue for a smaller person though. Other than that I really like the chair.

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад +1

      I can see longer periods of time in the chair having that support bar being an issues. Hopefully they'll scroll through some comments like this and consider what could be added to help that. I get the folding and portability, but maybe some sort of foam padding, memory foam style or something.
      Tom here--I'm a very heavy guy, so while this isn't absolute perfection, the time I've spent in camping chairs over the years, this is far more ideal and I'm glad to not feel like it'll crumple under my weight.

      That's great to hear! We've still been enjoying it, especially for travel; it's better at hotels than sitting on the edge of the bed or whatever they toss into the room as a chair!

    Sounds like it has the cushion for the button pushin'
    Honestly, a 350lbs weight rating is crazy good. Regular camp chairs are normally rated for 250lbs.

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад +1

      LOL--"cushion for the button pushin'" Now THAT'S a slogan they could put to good use!
      Dude, when I saw that weight rating, that alone helped to sell me; I'm a big guy not about to get any smaller, so this is my kind of chair.
      Next time you're around you'll definitely have to take it for a test sit.

    This looks awesome! Like something my wife would be interested in. You also mentioned going to conventions. This looks like a chair I would want to use if I was working a booth at a convention. The amount of hours they put in at those booths, it would be nice to have something like this to maximize comfort the times you do get to sit down.

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад

      We didn't even think of that, but how perfect! Working a booth at a convention and having a bit more comfort and padding like this, oh no doubt, this chair would fit that bill nicely!

  • @samanthaazira

    This is a very interesting concept. I would agree that long periods of time would get uncomfortable fairly quickly due to the bars.

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад +1

      Absolutely; we took this to MoGameCon with us for others to try and the consensus is the same; that front bar is a pain. We get the need for support, but that gamer sitting stance is unforgiving. As a lean-back plush seat though, totally comfy to lounge.

    Going to keep an eye on these chairs. Maybe wait for a V2. A portable gaming chair would be excellent for game conventions!

    Yeah, those rocker chairs are made for smaller/shorter people.
    Sounds like it could be a nice out and about or hanging at home when you need an extra chair.
    I am curious as to how well it would hold up camping and stuff.
    The price tag is up there but when you want comfort sometimes you got pay for it.

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад +1

      Put me in one of those rockers and leave me cause I live on the floor now. lol
      Really cannot wait to take this on the road and hear some more takes of various sized people. I kinda DO want to take it camping too and really put that durability to the test (I've gone through some chairs over the years).
      The price point is a sticker shock, but it really comes into what one is looking for. We've tried the office style gaming chairs but beyond (personally) lack of comfort, I never know where to wheel them to have it close but not in the way. At least I can fold this up and lean in the corner. We, ah, may have a space concern to begin with though. Ha ha

    Great review. This is something I might have to seriously consider, as you know my room is small and all I have is the typcial office Gaming chair. Would be nice to have something I can store away adn take out as an alternative seating. In college my Roommatee and I both had camping chairs we would break out of the closet when we were bored of sitting on our beds watching tv or came in handy with guests. This would have been killer back then.

      For space saving, this seat is stellar! Sounds like if you have that gaming pedigree with camping chairs already, then THIS will be such a nice upgrade for you. We plan on traveling with this too, sooooo next time we see you, you know where you can plant your bottom. 😉

    Hi! This chair is currently on sale for Cyber Monday ($40 off and Free Shipping, $159). I was thinking about ordering one. Thank you for your video, It was very informative. Do you have any updated notes to share? I'd love to hear how you guys feel about it after using it for the last 6 months.

    • @DoYouNerd

      Hey, thanks for the sale heads up--we made sure to share that out, hopefully in time for a last minute buyer or two out there.
      We appreciate your checking the video and as a matter of fact, since we've had this, we've managed to put it to good use ourselves but also at a local-ish convention where we had many people try it out.
      The general consensus is that it's nice, very comfy, and incredibly portable considering how much it folds out. That comfort is still mostly for sitting back, however, as that front support bar can be felt under the thighs depending on how much you're a leaner of a gamer (for me, it depends on the game; RPG, I'm slack and comfy; shooter, edge of the seat for sure).

    I also purchased this chair and the front bar digs into my legs. I've emailed about it and no response. Do not buy this chair. For a quarter of the price I could have bought a gig padded champing chair from Costco. How is it that no one comments on the front bar? The padding needs to come out another inch or two and maybe it would be better. I wish reviewers were more honest. I want to return the chair and I'm within 30days. If Francois replied to my email I wouldn't have written this review. Poor customer service once he has your money. Do not buy

    • @DoYouNerd
      @DoYouNerd  Год назад

      Really, really sorry to hear that on the customer support side of things; that's definitely something, no matter the item or service, you never want to hear.
      We took this to a gaming convention this past weekend and had numerous people try it out and generally that front bar seems to be the one related annoyance, and honestly it's mostly due to the lean forward stance gamers have. Kicked back in it, all that tried it thought it was great--but that pose and that bar, absolutely is noticeable.
      Definitely hoping you can find a better chair though! This one from Costco you mentioned, that might be interesting to get and compare to this; thanks for the heads up!

    • @DoYouNerd

      ha ha, honestly a lot of things are manufactured in China simply because of how cheap the materials and production are there. The company I work for, our medical supplies are produced there for that exact reason.
