Rest in peace doctor you helped a lot of people online i bet you helped, a lot of people in person i wish i had you as a doctor but im in Illinois. But which doctor cares in 2023.
I’ve taken all of them, vraylar, rexulti, and now Latuda. This one by far has been the best. I am 2 months into it. So far my side affects have been really minimal to none, maybe some drowsiness from it but I think that has to do more with my sleeping patterns. Overall I am much more stable and everyone around me says they think I’m the most stable I’ve ever been. No more constant negative thoughts or compulsions like I had on vraylar. Very calm. Would recommend
My doctor just prescribed it for me Low doze I been taking oxcarbazipine I noticed a little improvement but I get down to depression and the chest pain make it worst I’m afraid to take this med
This is the 5th medication I tried for bipolar disorder. It's had the least amount of side effects out of the meds I've tried. And it's done a great job with my anxiety disorder. I haven't had a lot of break through mania on this med compared to when I was on rispiradone. And I am not as sedated as I was on seraquil. I have had nausea on latuda. But it has gotten better with time. And it's been a little more sedating than I would like. Rispiradone was less sedating for me. And it has caused me to have my menstrual cycle less frequently than normal. Medications for bipolar disorder seem to all have some negative side effects. But this has been the most tolerable medication for me so far. And I'm losing some of the weight I gained on seraquil and rispiradone. I've also tried abilify, which caused me tremors. I do a lot of art. So having unsteady hands is a no go for me. And I've tried Lithium, which caused me a lot of water retention. Like edema level water retention. So far, I'm glad I have this medication option. It's not perfect. But it's better than other things I've tried.
I was part of the clinical study for Latuda. I was doing good and then I went south. I became very depressed and when I told the doctor he got very upset and I ended up walking out and never went back. I’m wondering what he did my results
@@dagerikhaugen577 I'm doing pretty good. I still show some signs of mania, like irritability here and there, but I am not as depressed and suicidal like I use to be.

@@dagerikhaugen577 Well, I did have depression before starting Latuda. But once I started on Latuda, over the few months I saw that I was getting better, and I've been better ever since. I highly recommend Latuda, b/c to me it's a miracle drug.
I don't know what this guy is talking about that it works the same as Generic Seroquel, Zyprexa. It's not the same drug. Latuda for me is activating and lifts depression in 1 day. Seroquel & Zyprexa make me a Zombie.
The 3 drugs are antipsychotic medicines intended to treat both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder so they have the same purpose. However,Latuda,as he said is more specific to treat depressive episodes while the other two are more useful to treat maniac episodes and seroquel works also as a mood stabilizer .
@@happymess3219 that’s so frustrating! I gained about 25 pounds in a few months taking invega. It helps in a lot of ways, but I’m switching to latuda because it’s not as known for weight gain.
If you look at the left hand side of the chemical structure for geodon and latuda you will see they are exactly the same, starting with the phenyl group. The right hand side is similar to risperidone and many others. The essence of what he's saying is that this isn't a new drug, it's a variation on things that already exist. That's not always a bad thing, a variant could work a lot better than what it's based on, but in this case the data suggests that this one isn't. For what it's worth I'm on it. Risperidone worked great for my mental health situation but the side effects sucked. Havent been on latuda long but at least it's not making me want to stuff my face constantly.

I took it for bipolar. Didn't take it long because it made my body vibrate in the weirdest way. Everything I touched/touched me had a delay for me to actually feel it. Made driving scary. It definitely isn't sedating or makes you sleepy but it improved my sleep. I'm a periodic insomniac, and always a bouncy morning person. Not on Latuda lol. It felt great to sleep so much finally. But couldn't stand the vibrating/numbness feeling in my body. Didn't take it long enough to see any effectiveness.

Latuda has only been on the market for several years- so we have no idea how It will affect your neuro cognitive functioning and organs as you age. I was prescribed Latuda a couple weeks ago, but after research wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I'd have to stop working out (fine print says to avoid prolonged cardio especially in heat- I live in Florida and workout outside every day), eat 350 calories before bed with pill, likely deal with fatigue and restlessness- all of which is a sum zero when compared to what I deal with as BP-1. To me-- those are my symptoms when I'm depressed. So why would I take a drug meant to treat depression when it will cause me to be depressed?! Tardive Dyskinesia is particularly concerning, and a whopping percentage of people develop it from this drug. I think this is way too new to be prescribed to patients, and to take it is acting as a guinea pig. Wouldn't be surprised to see a class action lawsuit against Latuda within the next several years.
