    Very Sharp! That's a cowling design for the Firestones I have not seen! Love it!

      @@GearHeadJPMany of the motors you feature are cosmetically great! Did you find this one in such good condition, or did you re-do everything? It's gorgeous! 😍

      @ALVintageOutboards Though I have refinished many of my engines, this one is as I got it. It is very deceiving in the video. Whoever repainted this one did a horrible job. Even though it shines, they left a bunch of big imperfections on the back of the cowl and the lower part of the engine and power head was painted over dirt and corrosion and has too many paint runs to count. I need to refinish the whole engine unfortunately.

    Very nice, it has the same dashboard as my 10hp scott atwater but a way cooler cowling. Nice JP!

      @pryan05p71 I recognized the similar dash as well and love the fins on this one. 🤙

      @@GearHeadJP Yes, we had a 16 hp as I recall. We found out though, that they don’t run an all when underwater. But got it running again!

    Cool motor! Was that the last year for Firestone? I never seen one of those baby's! I had a 5hp I used for duck hunting a long time ago. Thanks for sharing!

      @labradorguy5311 bizarre right!?! Definitely not the last year as I have a 1960 Firestone 8 made by West Bend in one of my other videos.

    Pretty impressive to get 23mph out of a 10hp outboard.
    I’m assuming it’s a 12’ boat and you are medium weight?

      @GearHeadJP  Месяц назад

      @davemilster not bad, but I’m still working on props. It’s a Sea Nymph 12K and I weigh 190. Unlike most, I don’t put anything in the bow to weigh it down, that’s just a patch up for poor propping. If you get a chance, check out the videos of my QD-14 and QD-15 engines. For 10hp’s they are impressive in my book.
