In this video I'm showing a USB C hub that not only has two USB C ports, two USB A ports and micro SD and full sized SD card slots but it also has a HDMI output.
What's very special about this USB C hub for the iPad Pro 2020 is that it's HDMI output is capable of 4K 60FPS.
I have tried many interfaces for my iPad Pro specifically for HDMI video output for gaming on an external monitor and for screen capturing my iPad Pro with an Elgato 4K60 Pro and OBS and this is the first that I've found that has the ability to send out a 4k 60FPS video signal.

If I take my ipad pro and play a movie with vlc will it play full screen/1080p or will hve the black boxes on left and right side?

Nice one. I’m using a “Hyper Drive” which has a usb c port, sd slot, mini sd slot, usb a, a 3.5 mm jack, and a hdmi port on the side. I haven’t tried the hdmi port but now I’m curious to see if it works at 4k60. Cheers!
Alright Tone. I’d be very interested to know if you can get 4K 60FPS. I think I’d tried 7 hubs before I got this one and 4K 60FPS. The mad thing was that when I found these on Amazon they were originally just under £10, which is about $12. That price was just stupid mad so I got a couple. BTW, can’t wait for this Mac Mini and see if the iOS apps run in full screen 16:9. Cheers, Dave.

@@DavidHarry hi, I bought the new apple adaptor but I cannot get video to play to any tv, I tried the same adaptor through my windows laptop and it worked perfectly.
When trying through my iPad Pro 2021 it say it is trying play through airplay.

On my iPad pro, it does show that blue connection, but does not connect to my TV or projector, and it will say no signal,, would you happen to know the issue? It does work with my other devices without any issues. It was also able to work a while before.

Hi Geoffrey, how’s it going buddy. Yes, if you plug your USB power supply into the USB C power port on the hub it charges the iPad. That’s how I have it when I’m gaming, power into the hub, my Ethernet adapter into the hub so I have hard wired internet, my USB audio interface into the hub so I can plug my studio mic in and my headphones, keyboard and mouse on wireless with the wireless dongle in one of the USB ports on the hub and then the HDMI to my monitor or my game capture PC via an Elgato capture card. BTW, check my last videos. I found a way off ripping the IPA files from my iPad Pro, the IPA files are the iOS app installers, then installed them onto my new Mac Mini M1. Although the new Macs with the Apple Silicon are compatible with iOS, many games aren’t available from the Mac App Store, that’s why I ripped them from the iPad. Anyway, I’ve been banned from COD and PUBG because of the iOS IPA app files I installed on a device they don’t want the games on. Bummer 😆 Cheers, Dave.

Hi Mark. There are hubs that have the ethernet port but I've not seen one that can do 4K 60FPS and ethernet. In fact, I've not found any type of hub that does 4K 60FPS what so ever. My setup for turning the iPad into a desktop system will be exactly the same with the the Air 4 as well. I know not many people use them like that but they really do become two devices, a fully portable tablet and a very respectable desktop for day to day stuff. I have my USB audio interface, studio headphones and my studio condenser mics plugged into my iPad, it's awesome. The usb C tails are all too short. I don’t understand why the manufacturers can’t provide a longer tail or at least an open ended connection.
Yes, they are far too short. I usually use a USB C extender so I can hide the hub behind my monitor and not have a bunch of cables all over the table, Cheers, Dave.

in this instance the audio is out of the HDMI port and so therefore the TV.

Yes, there are certain ones with audio out but this hub does 4K/60 and is the first one I’ve tried that does.

The blue USB A ports are configured for USB 3, not USB C. USB C is a form factor, not a protocol.
I’m planning on getting myself a iPad Air 4 soon, and I’ve got a 4K tv.. could I get one of these USB-C adapters and stream 4K content to it? It will be like watching a 4K movie on my tv from my iPad sauce

If you have a HDMI capture device on your laptop, yes.

Yes, it’s mad that it’s only 30FPS. If you can find this one anywhere defo get it, there’s not many that do 4K/60. Keep an eye on my channel I should have a couple new USB C hubs to test in the next few days. Cheers, Dave.
