As someone who suffers from depression and sometimes crippling anxiety, I just have to tell you that watching you work on the pieces you find calms me down. Your eye for even the smallest detail, the way you care for every inch of your project is amazing and inspiring. You have impeccable taste and great eye for tone and color. I’m so glad that I found your channel! And I love that you show your fur babies. I’m a Mother of Cats, and enjoy watching yours. Peace be your journey.
I am so genuinely happy I am able to help! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that - it's incredibly difficult to handle. I'm so glad you're enjoying the cats - I'll let them know. ❤️
Years ago I belonged to an award-winning Toastmasters club. I remember one member gave an incredible speech about wood veneer. He titled the piece, “Don’t Sneer at Veneer,” and gave us an education about the value and beauty of veneers. I never forgot it.
I watched this myself tonight and was so blown away by the end results that I made my husband watch it and we both totally agree that your work is magical. Thanks for taking us along .
Just a short note Angie to let you know how much I appreciate all the unseen work (camera work, editing staging, etc.) that goes into your videos. You go above and beyond just the wood working parts of your videos. Thank you for going the extra mile to educate and improve yourself for all your viewers. You are the BEST!
First, and most important thing: I pray Nacho is ok! Second: Love his plaque & business card!! Absolutely adorable! Third: This dresser is absolutely beautiful! Love, love, love the two tone, and that grain! Thanks Angie! Please keep us posted on Nacho's heart murmur.
As a perfectionist myself, sigh, it is so relaxing watching you work as you pay very close attention to details. It can be quite uncomfortable to watch someone skip over details that, in my opinion, should be addressed. Thank you for that!
I like the idea of seeing the beauty of this wood. A tree was cut somewhere, not for nothing. Instead of being thrown just because it was painted with white, it has a second life, and really, … look at this transformed tree now. It is so beautiful to see. It has a lot of value now, to my eyes. Long life to this furniture. 🙌🏻🌹
@Aldret Alfred - I agree with you wholeheartedly! By saving these wood pieces, furniture restorers such as Angie are not only saving the landfill, but keeping the tree that was cut down alive and honouring it as it should be! 😊
You've done it again! You took a piece that anybody would walk by and not even notice and turned it into something that commands that you look at and admire it. Also I admire the way you display your work for the final reveal. Big thumbs up to you and your work!
@Kevin Wilson I agree with you 💯!!! I started following this channel sometime ago and it’s amazing! I was just starting out with my own small business in Ontario Canada and have learned so much from Angie! Glad you are too! Isn’t she so talented? 😊
Angie, I love watching and listening to you work. Watching you load the piece from your storage, then skillfully scrape off the white paint without scratching the veneer is acknowledging the strength and delicacy that epitomizes the term “ability.” Your narration in your videos is so calm and informative, while your tone of voice and lovely Canadian accent are so soothing. You make your videos a Zen experience. Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous work Angie. Your videos bring me such joy. I’m very sick with renal failure, and your videos help me get my mind off my problems. Thank you for that❤
Oh my goodness Jeffrey, I am so sorry to hear you're sick. My thoughts are with you and I am very glad I can create content to help take your mind off things. All the best and well wishes to you from me!!
I grew up with these only owned by the "rich" people. I have always loved them but, my favorite is Danish Modern. So now I suppose I'm one of those "rich" people. Thank you for saving these pieces for the next generation to enjoy and appreciate. Beautifully done as always Angie and I will add Nacho to my prayer list.
A very informative and clear restoration video. So much information is usually obtained by experience-thank you for passing on your knowledge. It is sorely needed by amateur workers and is invaluable! The piece shines! Stellar restoration, as always. 🌟 Best wishes to Nacho. ❤
Of ALL the furniture restoring people on utube I enjoy watching you strip furniture. Especially when you use your scraper! You really show the detail! You show how you go easy & throughly at the corners that butt up at some points that have detail. And you go do a very nice job prepping the pieces before you work your magic! Well, really, you use your knowledge and common sense on each one you work on. You really think out the process and it shows! You NEVER rush the process. That's why your pieces are sp beautiful in the end! Thank you Angie for the patience & care you do take. It shows. Love your work. I look forward tuning in every time you have a new project on the works.
Angi, I know you have spent many years perfecting your craft, but you make it look so easy. Almost to easy, like I could do it too. Unfortunately my side tables in my living don’t agree that I have the same talent.😂. Thanks for another beautiful piece.
What a beauty! It almost doesn't look like the same piece. Your work is always so enjoyable and so satisfying to watch. Thank you inviting us to your workshop. Cheers from Oklahoma!!!
Angie, yes, there are literally thousands of furniture flippers remaking/refurbishing pieces all over YT. Many of them are putting out garbage that they are too ignorant to know is trash. Some are really quite good at it. But you are unique. Your love for and knowledge of so many different woods and their properties guarantees an incredible result. Who else would ever have believed this gorgeousness was underneath that icky latex paint? Who ever dreamed it would look like this?! Only you! And PS: best wishes for Nacho the Macho Hernandez !
I watch several refinishers, you are by far the best TEACHER in this venue in my opinion. I feel like I've learned so much. I have several projects I hope to undertake this year. I've been buying some tools that will have multiple uses. I really appreciate your explanations! You Go GURL!
Marcia, it could have been ME that wrote this! I agree with you about Angie being such a good teacher! I too am slowly buying tools and equipment for projects that I already have and would like to start soon. Good luck! .. TRICIA
thank you for revealing the beautiful wood grain on that piece. I don't understand why people paint wood??? what you did was wonderful, just absolutely beautiful. Keep up the great work. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed your passion and work.
Depression era furniture specifically was made very quickly and often with inferior materials. While that alone offers some historical value, perhaps, that doesn’t always translate into literal value, and a lot of them end up trashed because they just don’t fit in with many modern decor styles. Some things should be left alone. But many could REALLY use an update. I do a lot of full restorations but sometimes a bit of paint on lesser quality wood (and especially plastic laminate coated wood, or Formica) can keep something structurally sound from being tossed just because it’s a bit rough or dated cosmetically. But I like to restore certain woods whenever possible. 🙂
When you said you were using the color nutmeg on this piece I got so excited. It's my all time favorite. Gorgeous piece; as if you'd produce anything else.
For all the furniture "purists" who say painting wood furniture is a crime...how do you think these stay in such good condition?? The paint usually protects the veneer and finishes so makes it easier to refinish versus a dodgy stain and varnish job done in the eighties! You did an amazing job Angie and I hope your babies heart murmur turns out to be nothing that will affect his quality of life ❤❤❤❤ And I really appreciate how often you say thank you to all of us for watching, the genuine acknowledgement is wonderful xxx
What a gift you have, Angie!…For knowing which pieces have the goodies underneath and then the way you bring out the beauty in it. I so respect your artistry. Bravo!❤
I've watched several videos from other crafts people and yours is the one I always come back to. There are a number of reasons for this, like your voice overs are pleasant, and I love Nacho and the bunnies. The best thing about your channel is that you teach so well. I have learned how to reglue, clamp, sand in order - coarse to fine and not to skip. I can't believe how much more confident I am with my little projects. Keep up the great work.
You’ve knocked it out of the park AGAIN‼️I love how you explain not only what you’re doing but why! This allows others to truly understand the process and adopt those techniques‼️Also - your reveals are superior in that they slowly show each part of the restoration, along with the whole piece. Kudos to you; excellence strikes again‼️
The time and care you take is a great indicator of your pride of workmanship and respect for the pieces. Please keep taking that time, I greatly appreciate it! Anyone you receives ones of your pieces gets a labor of love and a work of art.❤. I love that bit of two-tone visual interest! I was hoping to see it soon. Thanks!😊
Wow! That is gorgeous. I love how you left the handles lighter around the edge. It sets off the whole front of the piece. And I’m sure Nacho will be fine. Seems like if you can get a cat neutered or spayed before they catch an STD they’ll live forever. We had an old female barn cat that made it to 22!
Nacho got some wonderful news back from the vet and I shared it on the Community page a couple of months ago in case you'd like to go read it. Thank you so much for watching!
Angie you do such amazing work! I love what you do as well as your explanations that are so precise that even the noobs (like me) can understand what you do. I would love to see you do a project with your partner, lights, something that moves via a motor or whatever your boundless imagination can conjure! I will say a prayer for Nacho!
I may be doing something with lights in June, and there is a plan for Andrea to do a piece completely on her own at some point, I'm just not sure exactly when. Thanks so much!
Another beautiful job! As usual from you. Always appreciate when the back, bottom and insides are also taken care of, even if it is just a good cleaning. It just elevates the entire job, even if you don't see it all the time. And please keep us updated on sweet little Nacho's condition.
Very nice end result - I know it was the style (and still is for the most part) to make the wood used all look like it was all one kind of wood... but I always look at these transformations and think Wow - those different tones of veneer really bring out the design!. Also, your great explanations of the processes to get it there are really interesting.
I just found you as I stress over what to do with my now-deceased parents' reddish-stained 1950s French Provincial bedroom set that needs cigarette smoke blocking & TLC after 65 yrs, 5 kids & several military life moves, that I don't want to dramatically change because of the long memories. I'm working through all your lovely, well-done videos because they all have something interesting for me to know. To me, you are hands down the most fun, caring, expressive, thoughtful, professional, level-headed furniture restorer on RUclips. I love the bunny & kitty cameos too.
WOW! Thank you so much! If you scroll through my posted videos I have a couple where I work on pieces with severe cigarette door, in case they can help. ❤️
Another beautiful piece. Your knowledge of different woods and how they behave under different treatments is inspirational. I wish all good health to Nacho and hope his wee heart turns out well. Sending all the good vibes I can to all of you.
it looks stunning, as always! I love your work!!! I know that sometimes furniture needs paint (when the wood grain is so damaged, or on certain types of wood) but I always look forward to seeing the way you bring out the grain of the wood. it's always beautiful to see!
Great work Angie, my favourite though was Nacho and his desk plaque, he looks so very proud but a bit arrogant and regal at the same time, why is his middle name the devil? cheers!!🥰💕👍👍🐈🐈⬛
Oh Frances - if you could see this boy in action you wouldn't question the name. 😆The older cats in the house are in complete agreeance with it as well. Thanks so much for watching!
You brought out Natures natural beauty and saved this piece from suffocating under the latex. This sounds corny but the reveal actually brought me to tears. Beauty, whether in song, dance or natural wood, always brings me to tears. Great job and thank you for sharing your talent. 🥰
I know this video was posted months ago, but I love to watch you working through your projects. Thank you for being so generous and showing us the process and sharing the little details that make your pieces come to life. I think they are better than new when you finish. They have character that wasn’t there when new. Thank you for sharing! I know I’m not alone in saying how much I enjoy your channel!❤Nacho IS the man! So freaking cute!
This chest turned out great!!! Your rant is completely valid! I hope you give the person who bought the dresser first crack at buying it, nothing wrong with matching pieces!!! Your quality control team did a great job! My prayers will be for Nacho!!! ❤❤❤
Angie! Again, your work is astounding - every time 😁 You find a piece that's maybe been well-loved, well-used, or even roughly abused and turn it into another work of art. And always with patience and consistency. It's really great this time because you already did the companion piece, and IT was a fine end result.
I am realy enjoying how much your videos are turning into practical tutorials and I hope you can include more technical advice without losing that element of your audience who cannot wait for the reveal.🤒 Keep them coming!
'Furniture purgatory' I love that. My attic is becoming similar space for orphaned chairs that deserve a new life. Hopefully it doesn't become an oubliette!
It's kinda funny how the little orange tabby boys seem to burrow into our hearts. They are so sweet. Keeping Nacho in our thoughts. We love watching you do magic and Nacho his inspections. Pat Muffin on the head too.
Huge fan here. I just want to comment on the level of your work. You go above and beyond what any other person on RUclips does with these pieces. You should be extremely proud of what you do! Keep up the amazing work and keep doing these videos!
Take care Nacho ❤. Such a proud little kitty of his name plate. Many thanks Angie for another gorgeous restoration. All those Odies Oil tips are great.
Your attention to detail is outstanding You see tiny white flecks of paint. I don't even see, nor do I think anyone else sees. Beautiful work and finished dresser❤🎉
This particular piece I find absolutely 'home.' Back in the 1960s (I was a teen), my parents restyled their home. It had been something, Je ne sais pas ce queue. I opened the front door to find our home utterly transformed into the style that this particular piece reminds me of. Everything from the art on the walls to the side tables displayed what my parents called it Danish Modern. It only lasted a couple of years, and they were on to the more heavy Mediterranean. Thank you for sharing this renovation. I brought me so many memories and such happiness.
Once again, you have rescued a beautiful piece of furniture from a smothering layer of muck and given it a glorious new lease on life! Yay! As for darling Nacho Kitty...😳 That's distressing news, and I truly that hope his heart condition will not worsen! Stay healthy, Nacho!❤💪🙏
I feel like I can feel the wood sigh when it is finally free of suffocating paint and old, tired finishes. "let me breeeeeaaaaathe!" And then to see it get a good dose of moisture treatment is like giving a tall glass of water to someone in the desert. "Aaaaaaahhhh!!!!" It's so amazing to see these pieces sing again. The wood grain and textures of this piece are stunning. Thank you for you hard work and attention to detail. PS Nacho Hernandez' name plate is a crack up. He's totally owning it. "Yes, it is as it should be..." he's saying.
It always amazes me how you bring something like that to its final elegance! Absolutely stunning & beautiful! 💕 I will be praying for handsome little Nacho and that everything will be ok with him! 🙏
I always learn so much from your commentaries. I have so much respect for your ability to "rant" your wisdom even though you know you might get hassled about it. Kudos to you and your gorgeous pieces!
All I could think, at the end, was "How on earth could anyone cover up all that beautiful grain, with grey paint?" It does my old heart good to see it! Also best wishes to Nacho: I hope his suspect heart turns out to be no more than a glitch; lots of good wishes coming his way!
Please don't apologize for showing all the steps on these pieces. I hope to start doing this sort of thing when I retire in a couple of years - so I am learning as I watch. I love seeing it all. Great work again!
My father was a fully apprenticed painter and decorator. In those days it was a 7 year apprenticeship. He often used the dry scrape technique, if appropriate. He use a scraper called a shave hook. ( I always thought it was a shafe hook) I still use one. It had a triangular shaped head with one side curved. Great for getting into the nooks and crannies. I'm from Scotland. Love your scraper.
As requested, I am sending healing energy to Nacho! I am a Reiki master & fellow cat lover, so I am giving it 110%! I have been doing cat/kitten rescue for several decades, and many of my fur babies have benefited from it. Also, another amazing job! I can never say enough about your talents. You are truly remarkable.
The chest of drawers is stunning, bue I knew it would be, having watched the last one. Sending prayers for your sweet Nacho, may he live a long and happy life ❤🙏
My daughter has a shirt that says "Be a nice human". You are a nice human, and that is why so many of us return and subscribe. On top of that, your incredible knowledge and pride in your work, keep us glued to the screen.
I watch these videos over and over again multiple times. I love your teaching style, you make me feel like I can do it too! (And I do! My local consignment shop gives me old MCM pieces to bring back to life - so rewarding!)
When you said this piece was Canadian made, I had a lovely thought that the person who made it would see your video and all the love and care you put into it's restoration.
As always, Angie, beautifully refinished piece! And I always learn something every time I watch your videos. Today, that was how to reactivate Odies. So many great tips!
Some cats stay very aloof and don't interact much but others take over our lives and deeply embed themselves in our hearts. I sincerely hope Nacho lives a very long, happy life. Good luck with his diagnosis. Btw, the dresser looks gorgeous too😆.
😊 Now in it's 3rd life, it warms my heart to see this beautiful piece of furniture given another chance to sing.
Thank you so much for watching!

He got some fantastic news back from the vet that I posted about on the Community page in case you'd like to read it. Thanks so much for watching!
Once again, amazing work! Such a gorgeous piece of furniture. Why would anyone cover it in white paint? You brought it back to life beautifully. ❤
Thank you so much for watching!
What’s interesting is that they’re totally convinced that the white paint was an improvement 🤷🏻♂️
Very nice end result - I know it was the style (and still is for the most part) to make the wood used all look like it was all one kind of wood... but I always look at these transformations and think Wow - those different tones of veneer really bring out the design!. Also, your great explanations of the processes to get it there are really interesting.
Thank you so much!
My dream furniture. So beautiful!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you kindly! 😊
Another beautiful piece. Your knowledge of different woods and how they behave under different treatments is inspirational. I wish all good health to Nacho and hope his wee heart turns out well. Sending all the good vibes I can to all of you.
Thank you so much for your continued support and well wishes. ❤️😺
it looks stunning, as always! I love your work!!! I know that sometimes furniture needs paint (when the wood grain is so damaged, or on certain types of wood) but I always look forward to seeing the way you bring out the grain of the wood. it's always beautiful to see!
Great comment! Thank you so much! ❤️😊
Ohmygoodness ❣️. Such a rich, luscious finish! What an awesome transformation 😊 Thank you for sharing your magic👌
You're so welcome! Thank YOU so much for watching!
Nacho looks SO proud!😎❤
Doesn't he?? Thanks so much for watching!
Letting the beauty of the wood shine instead of hiding it with paint makes that furniture piece so attractive. Awesome job!
Thank you very much!
It's beautiful! Love the wood grain patterns and the contrasting wood colors.
Thank you very much!
Yay, a new video. Love this channel. Best to you and your family.
Thank you so much!
Another great refinish, Angie!
Sending best wishes for Nacho.
Thank you kindly Kali!
When you showed the final reveal, my heart melted at the beautiful walnut grain.
I could “binge watch” your videos.
Awe, thank you so much!
Beautiful it looks better than new.❤😺😺♥️
Thank you very much!
You're so welcome! Thank you so much for watching!
An excellent video and very informative
Thank you so much!
You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This chest turned out great!!! Your rant is completely valid! I hope you give the person who bought the dresser first crack at buying it, nothing wrong with matching pieces!!! Your quality control team did a great job! My prayers will be for Nacho!!! ❤❤❤
That's exactly where this one is going - to the person who purchased the first one. Thanks so much for watching!
Angie! Again, your work is astounding - every time 😁
You find a piece that's maybe been well-loved, well-used, or even roughly abused and turn it into another work of art. And always with patience and consistency. It's really great this time because you already did the companion piece, and IT was a fine end result.
Thank you so much John! I really appreciate your kind words!
I am realy enjoying how much your videos are turning into practical tutorials and I hope you can include more technical advice without losing that element of your audience who cannot wait for the reveal.🤒 Keep them coming!
Thanks so much for watching Tony!
Aw, "thumbs up" for little Nacho. I hope he can live a long, healthy life. ❤
Thank you!
It was a crime that this beautiful wood was covered with white paint! Thank you for restoring it to its full glory.
You're welcome!
'Furniture purgatory' I love that. My attic is becoming similar space for orphaned chairs that deserve a new life. Hopefully it doesn't become an oubliette!
I hope not for your sake too! Thanks so much for watching!
It's like this piece is saying, 'You found me! And I'm all ready to party now!!' Great job!! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much!
It's kinda funny how the little orange tabby boys seem to burrow into our hearts. They are so sweet. Keeping Nacho in our thoughts. We love watching you do magic and Nacho his inspections. Pat Muffin on the head too.
I will do that! Thanks so much for watching!
Huge fan here. I just want to comment on the level of your work. You go above and beyond what any other person on RUclips does with these pieces. You should be extremely proud of what you do! Keep up the amazing work and keep doing these videos!
Oh I'll definitely keep doing them! Thank you so much for watching!
I cannot believe that gorgeous piece of furniture was covered with latex paint! Love your work!
I'm so glad you like it! 😊
Take care Nacho ❤. Such a proud little kitty of his name plate.
Many thanks Angie for another gorgeous restoration. All those Odies Oil tips are great.
You're so welcome Valerie! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching!
Your attention to detail is outstanding
You see tiny white flecks of paint. I don't even see, nor do I think anyone else sees. Beautiful work and finished dresser❤🎉
Thank you so much! 😊
Nacho is such an adorable boy! I wish him good health and a long kitty life!
Thank you kindly!
You're so welcome Susannah! I'm glad I could bring back some good memories for you!
Thank you so much for watching Joy!
What a face..an "Ahhh" moment. Isn't it beautiful how the wood grain runs over from the top shelf to the next? Well done. I look forward to the next.❤
Thanks so much for watching!
You're so welcome! I'm so glad you like how It turned out. He is incredibly proud of his nameplate and business card. ❤️
It always amazes me how you bring something like that to its final elegance! Absolutely stunning & beautiful! 💕 I will be praying for handsome little Nacho and that everything will be ok with him! 🙏
He got some wonderful news back from the vet that I've shared on the Community Page in case you'd like to read it. Thanks so much for watching! 😺😊
I always learn so much from your commentaries. I have so much respect for your ability to "rant" your wisdom even though you know you might get hassled about it. Kudos to you and your gorgeous pieces!
Thank you kindly!
All I could think, at the end, was "How on earth could anyone cover up all that beautiful grain, with grey paint?" It does my old heart good to see it! Also best wishes to Nacho: I hope his suspect heart turns out to be no more than a glitch; lots of good wishes coming his way!
Thank you kindly! He actually got some wonderful news back from the vet late yesterday and he's going to be fine. 😺😊
Please don't apologize for showing all the steps on these pieces. I hope to start doing this sort of thing when I retire in a couple of years - so I am learning as I watch. I love seeing it all. Great work again!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying my content!
At some point someone looked at that wood and thought 'gray paint' that is what this needs. It looks incredible now.
Thanks so much for watching!
I love Reiki and really appreciate that! Thank you so much for watching and your incredibly kind words. ❤️😺
The chest of drawers is stunning, bue I knew it would be, having watched the last one. Sending prayers for your sweet Nacho, may he live a long and happy life ❤🙏
We got excellent news back from the vet and I posted about it on the Community Page in case you're interested. Thanks so much for watching!
Definite had a sense of deja vu when I saw that unit. I knew I’d seen those handles before. Finished up looking as nice as the previous sideboard. 👏
Thanks so much Lynne! This piece is going to the same home as well! 😊
My daughter has a shirt that says "Be a nice human". You are a nice human, and that is why so many of us return and subscribe. On top of that, your incredible knowledge and pride in your work, keep us glued to the screen.
Thank you kindly! I really appreciate your kind words.
Right you are
What a transformation! Who would have thought a classy piece of furniture was hiding under all that paint!
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
No matter what it was made of, this piece was OUTSTANDING. I want it and I want it bad.
Thank you so much! It's actually going to rejoin the piece I purchased it with after a year of separation.
Mahogany and teak used to be my favorite woods, but now I think it's walnut. What a beautiful wood!
Thank you so much!
I watch these videos over and over again multiple times. I love your teaching style, you make me feel like I can do it too! (And I do! My local consignment shop gives me old MCM pieces to bring back to life - so rewarding!)
I love that! That is wonderful you're doing that. ❤️
When you said this piece was Canadian made, I had a lovely thought that the person who made it would see your video and all the love and care you put into it's restoration.
That's a lovely idea! Thanks so much for watching!
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn at least one thing. Most times, several. You are so talented.
Thank you kindly!
Wow!! Thank you so very much for rescuing this beautiful piece of furniture. Natural wood grain is the best.
Glad you like it!
As always, Angie, beautifully refinished piece! And I always learn something every time I watch your videos. Today, that was how to reactivate Odies. So many great tips!
I'm so glad you're enjoying my content! Thanks so much for watching!
Some cats stay very aloof and don't interact much but others take over our lives and deeply embed themselves in our hearts. I sincerely hope Nacho lives a very long, happy life. Good luck with his diagnosis. Btw, the dresser looks gorgeous too😆.
Thank you so much for your kind words Deb! I really appreciate that!
Just watched ...another great restoration! If you had a store in our area we would be in it every day !
I'm so glad you liked it Bobby! Thanks for watching!
@@TranscendFurnitureGallery I love your videos I will always watch!

Such an amazing piece with gorgeous wood tones! Beautiful job Angie!
Thank you very much!
What wonderful furniture!! You know how to assess what should be painted and what should just be restored to its natural beauty. I loved!!
I'm so glad! Thank you so much!
