- Quarterbacks were the talk of spring games this weekend. Arch Manning gave Texas fans a peek into the future. CJ Carr, Steve Angeli and Kenny Minchey all looked good for Notre Dame. D.J. Uiagalelei and Florida State were on display. There is a QB battle in Michigan, Jackson Arnold looked great for Oklahoma while USC begins life without Caleb Williams. McElroy gives his biggest takeaways from the weekend and updates the transfer portal for Alabama, Auburn and LSU.

Arch is still all hype. It's in an actual game, that I want to see him. I want to see if he can handle real pressure after getting lit up a couple of times. His last few HS games were a disaster.
Beaux Collins, Jayden Thomas, J Harrison, Jordan Faison all out for the spring game. The best of the WR group at ND basically didn’t play.
Michigan has a THREE man competition at qb in fall, as their most experienced Qb, Jack Tuttle, was injured in spring but will be back for summer workouts and fall camp.
Tuttle is not that good. It's just a two man.

Is Florida State going to take a step back in 2024? Who is the favorite in the ACC?
imo it might be Clemson. even with a lesser year last year. I think the current top 10 is
1. Clemson
2. NC State
3. Florida State
4. SMU (yes I said it, check the roster)
5. Louisville
6. Virginia Tech
7. Miami
8. Duke
9. Syracuse
10. Pitt
It's the ACC .... so hard to get excited about anyone. Even when ya have a team that dominates whether it be Clemson, FSU or anyone else .... unlike the SEC and Big 10, there's rarely been a 3rd team at mid season that looks like they have a realistic shot at a playoff or title game. Even a 2nd team is rare.
Last year I rooted for FSU, but after all the whining, ..... because the committee followed the official rules to the letter, this year will be rooting for North Carolina.
I now think of the Big 12 as the "Poser" conference... has many of the teams that made the playoffs playing soft schedules and then got embarrassed.....TCU, Cincinnati, UCF
I'm not a fan of these 16 and 18 team conferences ... who wins a berth in the SEC championships will too often depends on the luck associated with who you play and where (Home /Away)

It’s hard for me to see us being better than last year. We lost some serious playmakers. As it stands I can see our run game being better. I’m thinking if we can pick up another WR and have a couple others take a step over summer, we can be about as good as last year. Go Noles 🍢🍢
OU spring game score isnt a score..It's points for TO sacks INT.
6 points for a defensive TD
4 points each for a TO, 4th down stop, & a missed FG
3 points for a 3-&-out
2 points for a sack
1 point each for missed PAT and forced punt
2 points deducted for each offsides penalty
OUs scoring system was really more of a joke than anything. Center breaks wind and the D line smells it= -2 pts. If the QB smells it=+6

Texas' offense is better than any other offense in the SEC and most of the secondary has had a total of like 15 practices as a team so far...

You can joke around and say there is no QB controversy, but there is 1000% a QB controversy at Texas. The starter is decided, that's not the controversy. The controversy is that Ewers will have to play perfect in every game or we're going to start hearing "We want Manning".
It will happen in two ways.
If Ewers doesn't look good before OU/TX then we'll probably start hearing murmurs.
If Texas loses to OU or anyone before the OU game and Ewers isn't playing well you'll probably start hearing it.

Oh $hit... The "Texas is back" clowns are cranking it up.. Please remember since 2000 Texas at the end of the season can be proud when it comes to OU only 7 seasons out of the last 24 seasons...
And when the 2nd Saturday of October rolls around.. OU will make it only 7 out of the last 25 seasons...
And even funnier for texas was Mack Clowns hay day against OU 2005-2009 where texas won 4 out of the 5 RRS... Take the other 19 seasons.. texas felt good only 3 of those 19..... 2013 2015 2022.... Yes...texas took the 2018 RRS... but OU snatched it right back in Arlington with the Big 12 title win over texas..

yup zero quarterback controversy, Quinn best in SEC, Manning the best player that will probably not see much playing time in the country, and the third string was bad a%$ great arm strength and ball placement. Best quarterback room in the country by far. couple defensive struggles we knew about are being addressed thru the portal.
