    Maestro was very gracious/patient with her. Agree, I had a hard time as the listener following her dotted notes and continuity of the piece. I recall Pepe Romero’s student reminding me when I was playing a Bach Gavotte to make the rhythm clear to the audience. Ditto for the dynamics. Applaud her attempt- this is not an easy piece...

    Don't know the composer or where he is from , like Irina Kulikova playing Tarrega in Tchaikovsky hall, she makes it russian, painting the landscape.
    I was not born or have lived in Russia, bit my father was and taught me about the spirit of the place. Also as a classical guitar practitioner and composer, that is what I try to do, sonic living oil paintings of our lives.
    I have a part time job at a Russian grocery store, recently showed this to a new coworker who is from Russia, young guy,
    He said, " it sounds like home "

      @@darenhaines8830 There are more than one tremolo techniques. Check superstar Ana Vidovic YT video of "Recuerdos de la Alhambra", (watch?v=fwjX-m4LkYk) she also plays using Pimi... maybe its more of a russian school? i dont know. Anyway i bet Vidovic is a huge influence of the young lady on the video.

    • @darenhaines8830
      @darenhaines8830 3 года назад

      @@Henry124 I ended up buying the sheet music to have a go myself. I then, sometime later, bought "The Art of Tremolo" by Ioannis Anastassakis to see if I could improve my (amateur) technique. In this book it describes the other ways of playing the tremolo. It also has an anecdote of how the great man himself, Andres Segovia, only used two fingers. What's good for the goose....I wonder if the teacher in the video looks down upon guitarists who use only two fingers. Using two fingers is much easier but three fingers however may provide higher speeds and endurance in the long run. As for it being a "Russian" thing, some may argue that they have been sticking two fingers up to the West for a long time now.

    It's a masterclass with broken English and frequently interrupted by translator, in this video we can feel the strong sense of traditional Japanese men with his prospective to how to treat women, with his high ground and looking down the women, and some over annoying smile to maintain the atmosphere, he have an perfect skill, but it must transfer to the beautiful performance, otherwise, nobody likes to facing a old man temper. As a audien, I think some of music sense I learned from the Russian girl, very different than how I play this piece. For the rest,it is like watching people doing communication.

      Nonsense. It simply happens, it's something inherent to the instrument. May sound louder or quieter, depending on several factors, but it's almost unavoidable and completely acceptable. If you don't like that noise, you don't like guitar.
