When Illidan consumes the Skull of Gul'Dan he gets a level up animation. Lol, ding, congratz man.
Nobbel just wanna say thanks for your hard work you put into your content. Very comprehensive and enjoyable to watch and listen too. Ive been subscribed to you for 4 years. Again thank you and keep doing what your doing.
Same. I don't play and haven't in many years. I still watch the Nobbel videos though. Thanks buddy.
15:50 "overrrun with awful slime thingies"
the fact that you say that so elegantly along with everything else is just hilarious to me
in a good way of course
One of my absolut favorites, remember when farming fellcloth. Felt like Winterspring, just in green, with demons.
Fellwood is one of my all time favorites. Started doing the zone from the south (like everybody else I guess) and the quests were always interesting. I loved the zone so much I took my time with it and did every bit of quest I could find there before moving on. That forest seemed to me like a mysterious cathedral, and it felt like I was slowly going to the altar with every quest I completed. It was only fitting that at the end I discovered Moonglade.
I like what they did with Fellwood and the trees having reaction on fell is amazing it makes you feel the influence of Fell and its corruption. You can't see it on every corner but you see it in trees expresion all around you. Felwood alone have more Legion vibe than any zone in the actual expansion. In Legion I feel like they just mixed FELL with boring architecture to make us impressed.
one of my favorite moments in wow lore. "The leader of the undead has been destroyed and the forests will heal...in time." -illidan "At the cost of your own soul? you are no brother of mine!"- Malfurion. Excuse me malfurion.....are you implying that you would never sacrifice yourself, your soul, to stop the enemy?
Mmhm. Malfurion is kind of an idiot in these scenes. I truly wish he'd gone a different route with that, something like... "You did this for your own power, Illidan. You've done your duty... but nothing has changed between us. Your body now merely matches your soul, corrupt as it is. ...Go. Seek your power and war. I must now cleanse the forest of the destruction your kind has left in it's wake, demon." And Tyrande... I mean, considering the shit she pulls in BfA to become Night Warrior, and how that feels a perfect parallel to Illidan's own sacrifice, it makes even less sense for her to dismiss Illidan the same asinine way.
Illidan is hardly an innocent, but Malfurion both in WC3 and WoW was a pretty big asshole and really didn't help matters any. Could be said he made some things far worse. Annoyed me no end at the end of Legion when you give Malfurion and Tyrande Illidan's last message to them and they're both just like 'Whatever, don't care'
Those fire and lightning animations though 10/10.
I'd say the Hinterlands.. I feel like its never talked about
I agree. I haven't played WoW since Wrath, so my memory might of the game might not be the best, but I have no memory of The Hinterlands at all. It's just not 1 of the places you go to all that much compared to a lot of other places. I would love to learn more about it!
unfortunate that the alliance doesnt really have a connection to the hinterlands(in terms of quests), even though they got the wildhammer clan there, as horde you got so many quests with the trolls and stuff in which you can really immerse yourself in ( gotta love the group quests in jinthalor)
I agree, Hinterlands with Jintha'Alor and Shadra'Alor, the temple of Zul and the connections there between it / them and BfA.
Loved the Hinterlands in classic. Aerie Peak was really unique and the lodge nearby was one of the few places with a lot of High Elves. When you got near that gigantic Troll place, the music got really scary (at least for me). I used to go into the cave across from the Dragon Portal place every day after school to farm ghost mushrooms for alchemy. I miss those days in WoW and all the noobs in my guild.../cry.
@@bvbxiong5791 YEs as someoen who is on the Aerie Peak Server seeing the Hinterlands would be nice... However given how this series is going I feel like they are going to finish off Kalimdor first.
Ive waited a long time for this one. I dont remember much of the lore (quit in late wrath) but I always liked Felwood.
Leveling up allied races while simultaneously getting loremaster. Thats a 500 IQ play
Whould love to hear zones history from clasic to present that undercity is in.
Tirisfal Glades
the old voice of illidan is so epic
i knew there had to be quite a story to that zone. had no idea it was that entailed. very interesting.
This was one of my favorite zones in Vanilla. I just felt so alone there, like there was danger around every corner/ tree/ fel totem and it made total sense for my pally to be there. Will never forget grouping up with a Turkish dude playing a mage and adventuring together for several hours while talking crap over chat and clearing those annoying corrupted barrow dens, wiping a few times due to pulling more than we could handle etc. but having a blast through #jollycooperation. There was just so much mystery in Felwood. And I don't even think I saw it all back then :D
Awesome video. Make a story of Duskwood, if you got time and want to. I'd love that!
YES! I'd love that too. Duskwood is one of my fave zones.
I love that when I wonder about lore I look it up and nobbel made a video about it
Long time watcher, first time commenting. Thank you for doing these types of vids, gets the nostalgia all revved up. More please.
Thanks again!
Hey Nobbel! I gotta save I love these darker zones that deal with corruption and creepy events. I just find them so interesting. The little creepy girl in Drustvar with the nursery rhymes and dolls was another favorite of mine. Idk why really but I’ve been dying for you to cover Sholazar Basin!! In fact I wanted you to cover its story even before you began doing zone stories. Hope you consider it. Take care buddy
Well i forgot how your videos was relaxing and fun glad to be back :)
I still have that staff of transformation from that one quest with the Furbolgs... I kept it, didn't complete the quest in TBC, and can still transform into one to this day!
Do the Tirisfal Glades next !!!!!
Tyr's Fall Glades*
Timbermaw: My personal LONGEST rep grind ever, in Vanilla, but was worth it to be able to show off my trinket as very few on my server (Crushridge) had it :)
I love playing videos like this on my TV while having breakfast
Ooh i remember this when i was leveling my draenei mage back when i was trying to 100% every area i walked (basically wasting my time because im like that 🌚) i think it was the last area i did that before I started ignoring irrelevant areas.
at 10:03 I misheard "the first portal" for "the firstborn" I must say idea of malfurion murdering firstborn of azshara and sargeras was interesting xD
Really quite interesting, never got to raiding in vanilla myself and don't think i ever quested in fellwood so i need to do that, Thank you nobbel!
Great lore compilations. Reminds me of watching Dark Souls lore, as I'm only getting into warcraft now.
I realize this is an old video. But could you annunciate a little more, especially when introducing unique words/character names? I realize I'm a straight noob to the series, but I feel like that might be where you're targeting some of this content.
Keep up the great content
Tyrande : You can't sell your soul for power Illidan!
Tyrande, 20 years later : Elune, take my soul for power!
YES. More zone lore, please!
I love Fulborgs..coolest "wild" race
No mention of El Pollo Grande? I loved warlocks reacting in guild chat when they worked on the infernal summoning.
As a little trivia, Banehollow was one of the hero Dreadlords you get to play in WC3.
Also, could you do the history on Swamp of Sorrows???
Awesome! Been wanting some Felwood lore
I loved questing in Felwood. It's awesome to learn that those satyrs were spies.
Zone lore is amazing.. the videos are amazing.. just subbed keep em coming.
Arthas sure is the right person to talk about whether or not illidans will was his own or not.
Arthas should have asked himself that
I would love to see more zone history! I'm especially interested in the Twilight Highlands
Oh hey welcome back, RUclips.
"the only war that mattered" sounds like straight from GoT :D
wouldn't that be the other way around considering WoW is years older? :p
I love lvling through Felwood! I have always had a "route" I took which included the Hinterlands, Un'goro, Felwood and Winterspring. It is going to be odd with Chromie time. I'm really interested to see how the old world is handled.
Who doesn't like those bear men with horns. Probably one of my only reasons I like that zone, it literally makes winterspring bearable... Yep
Always enjoyable watching your videos
Back when Malfurion was just Furion.
Tell us more about Tol Barad
Got a video coming soon tm. with the stories about the battlegrounds
Zul'Drak will be intersecting I think
these are great to listen to whilst leveling
Hello Nobbel, as always love your videos, they really reignite my love for warcraft and remind me of some old days of fun and war, was wondering if you could do a video on Duskwood?
Have a awesome day and keep up the good work
I been waiting for this for a while now..
Yes. Hunter Rhok quest was pretty much the best.
Those damn goblins and their blind ears 😁😁
Anyone else find it kinda surreal within the story for illidan and arthas to talk to one another?
Badlands. Or did you cover it before?
Arathi Highlands or Hinterlands
Felwood was one of my favourite zones back in Classic. Just a few months and I finally can return to the good old Felwood.
Maybe you want to take a look at Tirisfal Glades and tell us all the lore behind this zone. Please?
I can’t remember if you’ve covered Winterspring lore yet but I always liked that zone.
^_^ ruclips.net/video/YXF55jlinTM/видео.html
Your cadence is wonderful
My absolute favorite zone
I don't remember talking to that totem, I just started killing the furbolgs and got rep. that way, back in vanilla it was 5 rep. points pr. kill, I saw you got 20 in the video. it took a long time to get exalted, but I did it during vanilla
I think it would be cool if Illidan saw Gul'Dan's ghost, or heard his voice, much like Arthas had Kel'Thuzad. In Beyond the Dark Portal Grom still heard the laughter and the voice of the Warlock when he claimed his skull for Ner'Zhul.
I remember I was watching/listening to the dialogue (on RUclips) of Malfurion and Tyrande receiving Illidan's farewell message, and they were so heartless, and I remember seeing in the comments someone say "who's with me to raid Darnassus", I'm still ready. I don't know if they ever did it but I truly want to see this. Not just Tyrande but Furion aswell.
that's just shit writing from blizzard.
The gobli s turned a BLIND ear to them? Nobble thats not a thing xD
Lol it actually is! Official quest description: www.wowhead.com/quest=28382/enemy-at-our-roots
Where does the WoW in game footage of Illidan's absorbing the skull of Gul'dan and demonic transformation come from? I thought that event only existed in Watercraft.
1 tip, it's 'trickier' or 'more tricky' not more trickier. Sorry mate, couldn't help myself. ;)
I'm halfway through The Sundering btw. :)
Questline in felwood added with the cataclysm
I was Farming pets there in mop. It was quite unfamiliar territory for me and i Played Classic. But i very much liked it there.
Nobbel, lore-teller among mere mortal, would you kindly explain the time in Azeroth years between Classic and soon-to-be vacation spots of Nazjatar and Mechagon?
Classic is around year 25, every expansion takes around 1, with Cata taking 2. so we're around year 33
@@Nobbel87 So year 0 would be the invasion in the first game/the first opening of the Dark Portal?
Thank you sir. That is a lot of junk going down for the population of Azeroth and Dreanor to adjust to.
@@MrGoesBoom Yeah they've taken the opening of the dark portal as the year 0
I was gonna say first. But im not gonna say first.
Wait...
(:
would love a full story on Xavius
ruclips.net/video/wlYT0IRZgBc/видео.html
I would love to see classic to current Azshara kalimdor zone lore.
Please do either the story of Thrall or the updated version of Garrosh's story.
Cant wait for some world PvP in felwood!
im not sure if you take requests but if possiblle would you be able to do avid on najzatar (sorry for misspelling ) ^^ great vid
With Classic WOW coming, so does the Timbermaw Reputation grind... Yayyyy... XD
Not to mention some of the quest titles are references to an anime "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" :D
nicely made
Please do Darkwood and Darkshire. I'm so curious about that zone.
@Bounty right, my bad. Sorry! 😅
Favourite zone to lvl in
The story of Tanaris next!!
What questline in WoW lets you see Illidan and Arthas fighting each other?
There's the one Malformed mentions or if you're looking for the one I show in the video, that's: www.wowhead.com/quest=28217/wanted-the-demon-hunter
Nobbel87 thank you very much!
Lore of Barrens Chat obviously
In all seriousness, Tanaris or something, could be interesting, although i suppose most of its lore would delve into Caverns of Time and the Silithids
for some reason when i went into timber maw with o reputation not even a single quest done and they let me pass the fur blog at the front said you need proper rep to enter yet i walk right in and nothing happens
Well done..
fellwood was a very central place in classic wow. But I liked more what they did with the revamp in cataclysm. It was obnoxious uping standing there with all the people farming nonstop. It was very doable tho.
I always liked the zone. It just has this atmosphere to it. And a big story...
Also, it was one of the zones where I thought the name was really good in german (my natural language). Some translations just don't sound that good.
These days, I play with an english client anyway...
Do a history of Melfurion already!
“Fel’dan” really blizzard???
Ah, yes, I remember that Furbolg rep grind... fondly.
Timbermaw exalted here!
When will you do azshara enteral palace lore
1:57 i saw that "whosyourdaddy" .
Nobbel, have you done a full story on Thall?? Can’t for the life of me find it in your vid list...
Nope, not yet!
@Nobbel87 VASHJ'IR PLEASEEEEe
Do the plaguelands please or red ridge mountain
Seeing you, a paladin, with that old god eye on you is...disturbing :P Never trust an Alliance paladin! Damn zealots :D
Nefarious the Dreadlord. He did these quests near Reno. In Real Life.
burning steppes
hey question wtf happened to doomhammer??
Illiden: Sacrifices his very being to combat the Legion; is rejected by his kind and branded 'betrayer' by those betraying him; imprisoned by his kin; released and continues protecting his kin; still branded 'the Betrayer' and made into endgame content BBEG.
Undead Horde: Feared by those who are only alive because they kept the undead scourge away from them; join the faction of objectionably evil people and the one group convoluted into joining; attempt genocide against people who fear them because how dare they keep to themselves; attempt genocide against their leader's kin for literally no reason; "HoaRdE's NoT eVuL u GaiZ!!1! Im gessing nobbel is a lorewalker
