- My first ever upload guys so please be kind- hope to post more videos with a bit more confidence soon.
An overview of my VW Golf GTE after 15,000 miles before it heads off for trade in.
VW Golf GTE 1.4 petrol hybrid electric. 204bhp in GTE mode with up to 30 miles and max 80mph wholly electric.
I have really loved the car- I could drive silently and economically to work, yet could enjoy a decent turn of speed in GTE mode when I wanted too.
What will its replacement be? Its replacement is faster, less economical and hopefully will not give me lower back pain (my main issue with the golf). Why not have a guess below.
Hope to post more videos of the new car and our other cars at the moment: mercedes a class, daihatsu copen, citroen berlingo and our proposed summer road trip to Monza- can't wait for that.

nice overview.....some useful points, shame you never posted a follow up of what you bought after the GTE
Waze is a great navigation app. I use it everyday. Love the alerts for where the speed cameras are and if there are police ahead doing speed checks. Also I do like the car. But I was thinking 💭 I would prefer if it was real wheel drive ?
Hi, I agree with you about the driving position. I got a 2 year old GTE 3 weeks ago and took it on a long trip to check it out, as you do.
How many MPG does it show on the infotainment system from brand new?
how fare have you gone in one tank and full charge without stopping
How about service is it more expensive?
What the new hybrid battery cost if it failed ?

Hi SImon is the fuel economy bad on the motorway for trips 60 kms or more bad?Or is it ok just on GTE mode and not on petrol mode only?
When you are holding your charge, what MPG do you get from just the 1.4 engine?
have you calculated how much you have saved overall and if this offset the premium you paid for the hybrid?
From what region is that accent?

Why I ask would you pay an extra £10,000 on a Car which would cover a mere 25 miles on Electric Mode (which is not Free) It would take you 9 Years at least to recover any saving, by which time the Car would be very long forgotten as a hopeless 'dream'
VW Now Announce now more orders taken on the GTE (2019) - Absolutely awful Review - Sorry it's a NO from me and 3 others, so suggest you perhaps try again in "Scotland's Got Talent" but unless you get the Descrited Alex Salmond and Nicolas Sturgeon (Hate the British) on your side you are lost in the abyss of the Internet. Might sell one or two to people in Isle of Skye who now no better.
