Thanks for the video, I have a 2016 GTE, the same colour as this one, Carbon Grey. I've had it since the end of July and I just love it, I look for any excuse to take it for a drive :~) With my previous cars, I averaged about 2,000 miles a year tops. In the GTE I've already done nearly 4,000 in 5 months and I have a smile on my face all the time. I've recently discovered ACC, Adaptive Cruise Control, and I think it's great. I was scared of it at first, I didn't have the confidence that it would stop when it needed to but once I understood the settings etc, I loved it. I get a maximum GOM reading, (Guess O Meter, electric range miles), of 27 miles, this is in reality about 20 miles max, that's if you don't use the AC or screen demisting etc and this irritates me a lot. Why can't it be an accurate reading! I have seat heating and this uses less electric than the climate control fan so I use that instead. Using the Granny charging cable through the kitchen window used 7-8 Kwh and took a maximum of 3 hours 25 minutes from zero. I had a Charge unit put on the outside wall by ChargedEV and now the maximum charge time is reduced to a max of 2 hours 5 minutes. The electricity used is still 7-8 KwH from zero, I think the Granny charger charges at 10 Amps and the wall unit at 16Amps. This is the best car I've had and as I said before I love it. Cheers.
*You will soon learn of Range Anxiety, and other acronyms of the Latest terms for lack charging etc in the lack of Charging Stations in the UK (2019) Suspect you will be more than SAD you parted with your Merc E250 after a year or so. Don't kid yourself unless free Recharge Stations !*
GrrMeister are you insane? The GTE is a petrol/electric hybrid. It has a 1.4 L petrol engine. You have the choice of petrol or electric power or utilising both and the same time. Don’t spout nonsense

@@blardmann There are 3 journey scenarios I’ll answer that question as they represent my typical journeys in a month. To work, 23 miles one way I get 72 mpg over a mixture of A and B roads; Local driving Electric only with an average range of 26 miles, 300 mpg 😂 (highest it ever displays). A 2 hour motorway journey of 86 miles, 62 mpg. Typical range on one tank of petrol, 615 miles and average of 75 mpg. All depends on driving style of course.
How do you find the car with the panoramic sunroof and leather seats in summer? I guess it gets extra hot and I know the car is heavy as it is with the batteries but with the panoramic sunroof is the car slow? I hear it’s like having an passenger all the time. I am in the process of buying a used one so any help would be appreciated, Thanks
Is there a way how to force the car to always run the petrol engine? I'm little bit concerned about the impact of too often starting and shutting down the engine as it is not lubricated during startup.
The battery pack is pretty small. Does it truly affect gas reduction? I heard its range is around 40 km optimistically that is very tiny for daily use. Would you specify practical consumption in hybrid and gte mode?
It s enough if you live in a rangr of 40 km from your work and can charge it there, otherwise 20 km to ur work for a full electric drive.It drives really really good!.

If the journey is 70 miles, I may use the battery for 25 miles of the journey, leaving the petrol engine to cover the remaining 45 miles, resulting in an overall 70mpg. You can choose to recharge the battery by the petrol engine but the fuel consumption will no doubt be increased. It's best to use e-mode (battery only) for around towns when petrol engine fuel consumption is worst.

And remember children, don't under any circumstances allow any part of you body to come in contact with your mobile phone, as talking or fiddling with buttons may cause you loose concentration on the road ahead, causing you to run in to that cyclist wobbling around in the middle off the road while adjusting there GoPro. 20 points , £20,000 fine and off to the tower with you. Now then which sub menu was that setting for the mood lighting, before Spotify downloads my podcast, now then. Do I need Regen 1 or 2 or 3??? ? Damm which power mode ? I'm Sure there must be a button here somewhere to order nappies, milk and don't forget butter !!!!!! There's no place like home, there's no place like home. There's no place like home. You should test the car yourself for 0-60 times. It's faster than the GTD at 7.5 secs, so is probably more 6.9 than 7.9. We all know we can't trust what VW's marketing department says! Also, if you're commute is 30 miles and there's a charge point at work, you should be doing most of the journey in pure EV mode, one man gets nearer to 300 mpg this way!

If u use all the battery then u will have poor mpg because engine will try to recharge the battery never go to 0on the battery

anyone had any critical problems with golf 7.5? i've heard that the clutch is a critical element in 7.5's because of oil
It is better that it is oil! The dry ones....7 speed....have the issues. Need to change the oil after 60000km

How much does it cost to charge?. I also own a gti and thinking of changing to a gte
Circa £0.85 to £1.40 per charge depending on day/night tariff and if you pre-everything (eg heater etc)!
