    firstly love the video's, I have rebuilt more MKII's than I car to remember, BUT it was many years ago I am now restoring one for ME and your video reminds me how the sequence goes, THANK YOU.
    However I will be using an air staple gun :)

    Hey Vic, an excellent, entertaining and very informative video. The editing and the use of multiple shot angles are really well done and show exactly how to do this tricky job. This is something I'll need to tackle in the future, so I've bookmarked and will re-visit before attempting myself. The important thing I learned today was the sequence of the re-assembly and I'm sure would have caught me out too. Thanks for making the effort of filming/editing/uploading this, it's not as quick or easy a job as many people think. Also, the quality of your videos is definitely improving (not that the old ones were at all bad!) Cheers.

    A useful tool when doing this job is an upholster's hammer specially designed for tacks. The head is magnetic so making it much easier especially with short tacks and certainly better than using a large carpenter's hammer 🙂Shouldn't be very expensive second hand?

    Hi Vic. Quick Question or tw.. what holds the centre consul in? Do the seats have to come out first ? Thanks.. GN

    Hi Vic, have just brought a set of rubber door seals like yours, has yours worked ok, also brought some of the same for the boot. Done a compression test today, my Mk2 is a 2.4 should 150 on each cylinder.

    I'm sure you know but on the front door where you put the small thicker piece there should be a thin panel there that is pop riveted on after sticking the rubber on. Is yours missing?

    • @stevepoulton8826

    • @vicsprojects
      @vicsprojects  2 года назад

      I've never seen that piece, could your post a picture or link? Taking the doors off were a nightmare, someone had put a couple on with normal bolts not the tapered ones. Taking them on and off was definitely a two man job

      @@vicsprojects I hate to break the news to you, but you do NOT have to take the silly doors off a Mark 2 to change the door seals! You simply drill out the pop rivets on the A and B post seal retaining strips, clean them off, glue the new rubber to the channels, reinstall by sliding down the pillar from the middle section of the body (about where the window frame starts), new pop rivets, glue the rest of the seal on to the upper post (above the retainer,) and you are finished. We did an S-type in our shop last summer this way, and I just did my own 3.8 Mk 2 earlier today. I cannot imagine taking off the doors to do this!
