Andy Scott is to Sweet what Tom Scholz is to Boston. I am so grateful to both guitarist for keeping their legendary bands together. Sweet is one of the greatest rock bands ever. It's amazing how many people are unfamiliar with their music. They were and still are so electric!
Love it. Love Andy Scott. Older gentlemen still rocking is a heartwarming thing. I like Sweet in all forms. And whether its a wig or not, it's his hair! He's beautiful!
They weren`t my heroes in the seventies and they won`t be in this century. As the only remainig member of the "Original" Sweet Andy Scott(celebrating his 70th birthday this year) is manouvering the unsinkable ship through good and bad times since 1970. Respect for that!
Listen up kids. This is what a band is. Not a bunch of autotuned guys who can't play a kazoo all singing and dancing around on stage. Not a drop of income wasted on any redundant musicians in this band. ANd they sound great!
First seen The Sweet at Glasgow Apollo in 73 Seen T.rex 6 months later How good is that.Marc Bolan Brian Connolly and many others no longer with us but the music lives on and oh the memories
Yes, nobody will ever sing like Brian did. He was the best frontman ever with an unique voice. R.I.P. Brian, Mick and Steve Keep on rocking and having fun together where ever you guys are 💕
Yeah, I mean, God bless Andy, he is still a good player, but this is a tribute band, so it should be billed as such. "Andy Scott presents the music of Sweet" or something like that would be a more honest billing.
Steve, the only permanent thing in life is its changeability. Some keep up, others are stuck (and forget that what they remember is what their *_younger_* self experienced, with very different parameters and in a very different context).
Hey where did you see them in the '70's ? And I assume it was the classic line up ! Oh that must of been something...any memories that stick out can you share ?
@@philipholmes5884 The Odeon in Birmingham, great rocking gig but what stood out for me was Mick's drumming, so impressed. I'd already seen Slade a few times and thought Don Powell was great but Mick took it to another level.
@@steveoprey7969 that's awesome...! I lived in Los Angeles back then...I think they came to play the Santa Monica civic in 1974...I didn't even know about it ...plus I was too young to go anyway even if I did...😐
Mark Blaze when 3 members are missing, got old, for a band that wanted the look to be present, not a good idea to use the name Sweet, should be called Harshed 😉, they should know when not to play, they had their good times, but I respect Andy nonetheless
Agree I saw them at Rebellion ‘Punk’ Festival about this time they were one of the best bands there that year. I grew up with The Sweet in the 70s I thought they would be a bit cabaret when I saw them but they were excellent the songs are so good. Good for Andy Scott for continuing to carry the Sweet mantle
Andy was the man who really was in responsibility since he joined Sweet 1970, without him they would have disappeared and gone down, Andy created their sound with Nicky and Mike and also Phil Wainman. Maybe Brian could have made something, but he wasn´t good enough to write music on his own, but together with Chinnichap, it would have succeeded, who knows. Andy was the machine, Mick was powerhouse, Steve was a comedienne and Brian was heart and soul.
they are pretty darn good! One of my favorite bands and I got to see some version of them in 1995"I think it was Andy's " in Portland Oregon..It was great! :)

Andy is a man!!! How I love his playing a guitar. A real hard rocker and an englishman. Never afforfed himself to play bad.

Regardless of who is missing these guys are keeping the music alive and I salute them for that The Sweet were my favorite band in the 70's
I have supported the original " Sweet" twice in the late 60's at Newmarket Town Hall. Glory days indeed.
