If only they could have shaken the glam image. Brilliant live show, Mick was quite possibly one of the best drummers of his time and deserved to have been on the biggest stage. Fortunately they left a great catalogue of music for us. RIP Mick Brian Steve.
Why would they drop that? It was their image and got them noticed and made them fantasy material for teenage female fans. What they did led to the 80's glam rock scene. Besides, the music would have been exactly the same. I mean everyone has an opinion and it's all just a matter of taste, but for my money I'd rather see people who don't look like everyone else on the street and I've taken that approach with my own career, while I was still in music. I think it's really sad that everyone and literally their little sister has tatt's, piercings, and orange hair now. Where is the fun and fantasy of being able to look that way when your parents want you to wear polo shirts? It's just my personal opinion, but I think unless you're wearing some kind of costume, it's a half assed act. Today a lot of the costumes are facial tattoos and I'm really not a fan. Still just show biz, still just a costume. I think Nikki Sixx said it well once when he said, "Just because I'm wearing makeup doesn't mean I can't kick your ass.". It doesn't mean anything, it's just a show. That's my 2 cents on the other side of the coin.
