I am 61, grew up in southern Sweden, and Nazareth together with Slade were my absolute idols of my teen years. Still love them dearly. Of course you undeservedly feel kind of proud of contemporary swedish bands as Ghost and Dirty Loops, but they do not thrill my souls as much as listening to Slade or Nazareth albums from back then. Those memories from the 70's ..... Music is indeed magical and unrivalled when it comes to nostalgical trips of the soul.

Also is very underrated as far as rock music goes and lead singers. Writing this with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart. Dan you we're much loved by my friends and I growing up and listening to your music. There will never be another one like you and you will be sorely missed. Shout out to all the Nazareth fans that are all across the world. Put on your favorite Nazareth song and Crank It Up. Keep Dan in your heart and his songs in your soul. My condolence to his loved ones family and friends and every Nazareth fan that's out there. Rest in peace Dan. Thank you for all the wonderful memories and music.

Had a weird friendly Spinal Tap moment with Nazareth. Just discovered their music online this week (amazing band) but my old Funk and soul pub band was offered a local gig in their home town as a support act. We actually said no because supporting a huge rock band as a tiny pub covers band for a few quid for beer seemed weird and we were only together for a month. Now after seeing them turn up with full stacks to smallish gigs on RUclips they just seemed like they were typical ultra chill East Coast lads who lived to rock as seasoned pros.
If they had ego and bravado they would probably be so much bigger but thats not how folk are here. Maybe they could have thrown a TV out a hotel window and repaired the damage themselves. Rock n Roll is so much hype! RIP Mr friendly Rockstar.

High above the Las Vegas sand
It wasn't the one that you gave to me
That night down south between the trailers
Not the early one that you wish upon
Not the northern one that guides in the sailors
You've got that touch so gentle and sweet
But you've got that look so critical
Can't talk to you babe you know I get so weak
Sometimes I think that love is just mythical
    Up there's a heaven, down there's a town
Blackness everywhere any little lights shine
    Blackness, blackness draggin' me down
Come on light a candle in this heart of mine
Starbright, starbright, you've got the lovin' that I like
    Turn this crazy bird around
Should not have got on this flight tonight
I'm drinkin' sweet champagne, got the headphones up high
Can't numb you, can't drum you out of my mind
They're singin', "Goodbye baby, baby bye-bye
    Ooh, love is blind"
Up go the flaps, down go the wheels
Hope you got your heat turned on, baby
Hope they've finally fixed your automobile
Hope it's better when we meet again, babe
Starbright, starbright, you've got the lovin' that I like

What a fantastic era of rock that was in which to grow up. Strange how music can take us directly back to moments in our pasts. It wasn't Nancy, it was Roger Fisher, founding member of Heart and lead guitarist back then...also a major songwriter on those first four Heart albums. He was playing the riff at soundcheck one night...prob because he had Nazareth's song in his head. The thing is, it took Roger and Heart to turn it into an actual song! All Nazareth had was "dun-dundundun-dundundun-dundundun" -- it was Heart who added the next two chords, which takes it to another level, and MAKES it!

Loud N Proud while others were cruising around blasting Zeppelin. They would come over and ask me Who's that ? And soon all you heard was Nazareth blasting up and down the town strip. Definitely one of the greatest hard rock groups ever and their albums stack up against any of the great bands of our time. I'm 67 years young and I still blast their songs on my stereos today. This song is so powerful. It awakens something inside me. After listening to it on my hifi I'm sure that my neighbours are all Nazareth fans now.

Joni Mitchell is one of pop music's greatest lyricists . I always felt that Nazareth's interpretation of the much gentler original was totally inspired .
