Grant, thanks for a very entertaining playthrough. This game has been on my radar for a while. Any game that snatches defeat from likely victory quite so readily is bound to keep one amused. I am glad to see your also plagued by the wayward rules and markers gremlins.
hi grant, thank you for the video. please note, that the two przemysl flags only trigger, if the fortress is destroyed! so you play a heavy strong version of the game!! but anyway, the vid is the reason for purchasing the game, chees
If you get both of them, then you can join them together and play a big solo game or have a buddy play one title while you simultaneously play the other title. The rules for the combined game are in the back of the rules book for Hapsburg Eclipse.
In minute 55 you made a mistake during play card nr 1 Second army out of position during Loyalty test random+1 . Read rules page 12-13 3.2 Loyalty tests. Modifier random +1 is to first roll which Nationality would be tested but not to roll to the result of the test like you. In this example Czechs should revolt in roll 1-4 but you said they do not revolt. Read rules 3.1 Loyalty test die roll.
I do love state of siege games. Both this n Ottoman are on my radar...maybe later this year.
I have been considering picking this one up. It looks like a fun game. Kind of expensive, but seems like all board games are expensive nowadays...

I have acquired this game and am ready to tackle it for the first time.
Thanks for the play through. I own this one and it has inspired me to get it onto the table.

Great work as alway.
The Italians were not inactive when you drew the Hungarian food shortage. Unlikely to have breached the Isonzo under Cardorna, but still.
Do you prefer this one or Ottoman Sunset? Both look great don't know if theres value to getting both though...
There is value in getting both games, but if you want only one then get Ottoman Sunset.

Its possible the Germans could have "won" the Battle of the Falkland Islands but its hard to see how.
It should be till 1918 indeed. Also: Habsburg needs a soft "b". I live in Vienna, it seems very strange to me. Cool game still!
I finally beat this game. My score is international victory. It feels good
Have the first edition. Is it worth getting the 2nd edition or is it not much difference gamewise.
The gameplay is basically the same, it's just nicer components, and actually available.

Kaiser-Schlacht. Not Kaiser lact... It hurts my ears.
