I've only listened to 20 of these albums and many have been one my list for some time now. I really need to step my vapor game up thanks pad, and nice use of Barbwalters(got Reconnect on tape).
PowerPC ME : Kmart 1989-1992 Is a fave of mine, great stuff. Your video got me a lot of new good stuff to zone to, your vid style also is easy listening 👍🏻
My favs list (will be updated) -Mana Pool -Building A Better World -Sunday Television -Hirath -News at 11 (I love catcorp) -Hit Vibes -Late night delight
Thank you soo much for this! ever since i found this video i've been listening to each album 1 by 1 and enjoying everything that i've heard soo far! I'm on #9 atm but i can't wait what's in store for the rest of the albums i'll be listening to! My love for Vaporwave has been revived and i'm enjoying every second of it. Thank you soo much Pad Chennington!
Love the video. For me it's gotta be Computer Death by Infinity Frequencies. It left Impression on the first listen, and from that point on, it's my favourite without a doubt.
late to the party here. first and foremost thank you so much pad chennington for being the vaporguru that you are. been loving vaporwave for years now, sifting through its many diverse releases has been a trip. my favorite vaporwave album of all time would probably be DDS’ “I’ll Try Living Like This”, as it also is an all-time personal favorite.
Damn Pad, tyvm for all these. I discovered Vaporwave by chance a couple years ago and I LOVE it, it's opened the door to much more too. And this list widens the scope as well, thanks for that this world got a bit better!
Massive jungle and "a diverse pallet of sub-genres" is a good way to describe it and why this type of music can be so interesting. It's expanding for better or worse daily and it's easy to expect weekly output from small sub-genre labels. Vaporwave and its various subgenres supplies a seemingly endless wealth of novel sound experience. It will probably play out at some point, but as someone who grew up on disco and punk I think the amount of creativity being shown in this type of music and its almost non-intentional disregard of traditional commercialism makes it a significant event in music. Anyway, the creativity in all the various "waves" is through the roof! I gotta mix tape of some well known and more obscure artists on Soundclud called "Post Intrawave Plundersoft"
The real way to enjoy vapor wave music Take a shower, start with hot water, move into cold water, then back to hot water. Put on some comfy clothes after. Get some green tea. Preferably Arizona brand, but any kind will work. It’s gotta be cold tho, and make sure it has honey in it. Mix it into it, obviously. Cold Filtered, or mineral water works too. Be tired, like PRETTY tiered. Lay down on any of these; •Yoga mat on a hardwood floor •Couch •Bed •Reclining gaming chair Light a candle, scented, obviously. If you have it, put a humidifier next to you. Steam makes you feel really fucking good. If you have them, turn your LED lights to either dark blue, cyan, pink, or purple. Then, lay down, play the music, sip your vibe juice, and just vibe out.
I think some albums that could be added here are: Chessmaster - I Am Chesumasuta HKE - Dragon Soul Sangam - Mount To Nothing Cocainejesus - Adult Love Potion - XXX Echochamber - I’m real I’m here Telepath & Nmesh - Path to Lost Eden Giant Claw - Dark Web Deaths Dynamic Shroud - Derelict
Awesome list! Loved it and will look most of these up, but DEFINITELY missing vcr.classique to name at least one artist. His album "exotics" is so fucking amazing.
Thanks for this list! Been looking to get more into Vaporwave and found this video through accident. A lot of these albums were on Spotify so now I have something to do while I travel to work.
Cool list for welcoming new listeners definately! Nice choises Pad! I think many other fellows would like to see in further videos more lists because we all know how much underrated stuff flows without a chance )))
Ahha yes i've been waiting so long for this! right when i saw you uploaded this my audio went out. got it fixed finally. time to relax now. looks like i have more albums to listen to! ;)
Glad to see my personal favorite albums (especially from death's dynamic shroud, luxury elite, and VAPERROR) made it on this list!! Also I love the new editing style of your video. Keep up the good work, Pad!! Much love
Thank you! Yes, I really wanted to step it up a notch with this video. spent a lot of time on it and im super proud of it, thank you for the comment! Whats your favorite album of all time? love to hear what everyone thinks
Pad Chennington Well, thats the hard part, lol 😂. There are many favorites in the genre that I generally love, no matter how big or small the artist is. Anyways, as much as I want to say Saint Pepsi's "Hit Vibes" being my all-time fav. (Especially since, it really reminds me of the times where my mother used to be around. Also that, when I was younger, for the most part I somewhat did grew up listening to funk music from the 70s, and pop classics from the 80s with my mother.) But everyone, even outside of the community knows that album is an underground classic. However, a very personal album of mine--which is an all-time favorite and underrated classic to genre. It would be death's dynamic shroud's "DERELICTメガタワー". Surprisingly, it didnt made to this list at all! It's such an emotional rollercoaster, its absolutely amazing, psecially for an experimental artist like dds! Oddly enough, I'm not a big guy on experimental music that much. But, its something about that album that keeps haunting back to me. It also uses A LOT of video game samples to create this nostalgic, yet eerie, experience. Pad, I cannot stress enough of how much I love that album dearly, really underrated in my book. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend you checking it out. (Or even do a review on it.) The downside about that album, its really long. There's over 80 tracks and its about 4 hours long. But dont let that sink into you, its really an amazing experience if you ask me. Anyways, cannot wait for the new uploads. Keep up the good work, Pad! 👍
Thank you so much for this video- I just got into vaporwave music and this has been my listening guide! I've gotten through about a quarter of the albums so far and my personal favorites are You Are Already Dead, Sailorwave, 43°, and Late Night Delight. :)
Thank you soo much for this list! I finally finished it and I'm so glad to have gone through it all one album at a time. 💖 it was an amazing experience and now that I have a good variety of artists I follow, I'm going to listen to the rest of their discography and explore more vaporwave genres/artists on my own . Thanks allot Pad!
I'd say my favorite is Yes! We're Open, but it's so, so hard to pick, and now you've given me a lot more to listen to... Also Midnight Radio Deluxe is SO good, I love it.
Hey Pad, have you ever thought of doing a video on Vaporwave net labels? I've never really seen anyone do a comprehensive overview of the sources of Vaporwave and how these gems get distributed. From juggernauts like Business Casual and Dream Catalogue to Keats Collective, Illuminated Paths, Ailanthus Recordings to the classic Beer on the Rug or Fortune 500 (RIP) to some of the more obscure new up-and-coming labels like Seikomart. I think there's a lot of potential in telling the story of these monuments to net art and vaporwave history. And there's still so much new vaporwave being produced! While some say "vaporwave is dead" I like to think it's alive and well with all kinds of great stuff being released all the time. Just my two cents, not sure if you like recommendations or not lol but I've always wanted to see you cover this topic
Nah, no any Hwae sa Auto or any of my albums - too many cool things by Tele, Corp and HKE with Vektroid been released to close the eyes on the other stuff XDD I guess this list is more like overrated albums
it would be cool to see a full review on yacht rock breaks, but great job pad! you actually introduced a lot in this, and i can tell you put in a lot of effort. keep it up man!
I had never seen a Vaporwave album out in the wild before I visited one of our local record stores. Looking through the Electronic section, way in the back of the final row of albums, well behind the artists starting with the letter 'Z' was Macintosh Plus' "Floral Shoppe". I couldn't believe it. I wasn't sure if the album was given the reprint treatment, but I bought it nevertheless. Due to being new and sealed, there was no indicator whether the vinyl was white or pink. To my pleasure, it was lovely bubblegum pink.
Neo Cali has to be my favorite album! It's upbeat and joyful original music combined with Japanese commercials thrown in makes it feel like the perfect summer vacation with your friends skating together in L.A on a hot summer in 1987. Good stuff.
Damn, now that’s a bunch of albums that I haven’t heard of at all (out of the 5 or so albums that are in this list which I’ve heard)! Now I know what I’m gonna download/buy on Bandcamp, thanks for making this video Pad!
Windows 96 albums are underrated. 'Nematophy' and, 'Enchanted Instrumentals and Whispers' are best after listening to 'One Hundred Mornings'. Same with 'Machintosh Updated Floral Experience' After finishing 'Floral Shoppe'. 'Floor Baba Game Wave' is pretty good.
Turtleman...first off I love the name. Second, happy to deliver you some sweet tunes for the future! Happy listening, let me know what your favorites are!
Fantastic list! In Pad we trust! I'd have to give more love to Dan Mason though. Miami Virtual 1 and 2 are classics and Memory is soaked with enough sax to make Slick Willy sweat
I'm new to the genre. I've always been a diehard black metal fan who at times used to enjoy some folk, dungeon synth, jazz fusion and progressive rock. Thanks to the channel WatchMojo I learned about vaporwave and I really liked pretty much everything about it, mostly because it gives me the same kind of feeling I have when I listen to jazz. My all time favorite album up to now is Gudang's Nostalgi Gaius, from the same brilliant mind behind Windows96 and the fantastic mix of vaporwave and black metal project called Yvyy.
Hey Pad, love your channel and opinions and the way you compose your thoughts and share your inarguably vast love and passion for this subculture with us. I do have a request, although by no means a small one. Could you think about making a video about the sub genres of vaporwave? As many as you know or can think of, or maybe a video of your top (insert arbitrary number here) favorite and least favorite vaporwave sub genres and a brief explanation of their characteristics and aesthetic values? Thanks, short time fam but instant subscriber
"Camino 84 - Yacht Rock Breaks" and "2 8 1 4 - 新しい日の誕生 / Birth of a New Day" are by far one of my favorite vaporwave albums of all time. "NewEraDreaming - The End of an Odyssey" is also pretty good, though i wouldn't say its ground breaking or anything. Its just a really nice atmospheric album by my own standards.
Wow man, this was a real treat. Thank you so much for all the time you invested in making this for the community. I think I can safely speak for all of us when I say you're doing the best job at discussing, promoting, and enriching the vaporwave "scene". Don't let up brother, your channel means so much to so many people (myself included, I mean Hell I made a Patreon solely just to support you! Lol). ❤💙💚💙❤ P.s. Jonathan Charles Lewis is me, ConkyJoe89. So you can remove the Jonathan name from your list of Patrons, and leave the ConkyJoe89 name 👍👍👍
I KNEW IT I ALREADY HAD YA IN THE CREDITS LOL!!! I was literally adding your name and I was like wait I think im doing something wrong lolol.. but thank you so much man, seriously means a lot to me. I might print this comment and keep it by my desk while I work, for real dude thank you so much.
@@PadChennington Of course brother! I really mean everything I said, your vid drops are one of the highlights of my week, and you're getting better and better btw. The passion you have is obvious and comes through in the final product. I'll always support someone who is passionate about the same things as myself, and through that passion you enrich the experience on our end so it comes full circle. Keep it goin man 👍👍👍
Hey Pad! I would have added New Dreams Ltd. Initiation Tape as it seems to incorporate Broken Transmission and Late Night Lo-Fi. Mediafired’s the Pathway Through Whatever and Midnight Television would have been cool to see, as they were both pretty early in VP’a timeline. I guess you do miss some sometimes cause the genre is huge. Still an amazing list. A small handful I hadn’t seen before, which is a surprise for me!! Well done!!
I enjoyed the video overall, but felt that it would have been more appropriate to title this "personal favorites" instead. Very solid list here, but like many others have already said, the repeated artists and more-of-the-same type albums could have been replaced by more revolutionary or important works like HELLCOM's Energy111 or Sea of Dogs' Storm Memories. I've been working on the adaptation of Nmesh's Dream Sequins over the summer and I've been spending time outside of the editing room trying to parse through what albums and events have mutated the genre over time. To that end, I've been compiling notes for a series that covers vaporwave through the years to observe those changes. The passion that goes into your work is very inspiring and despite some differences in opinion, you do a wonderful job of capturing the essence and spirit of what makes this art movement tick. And in a fashion that everyone can easily understand. Good stuff, sir!
thank you for the well put and detailed comment! So I would've liked to do a personal one as well, however I feel doing so would've caused people to skip right to like the top 10 and omit all the other solid choices in the list. but hey, maybe one day ill make a Pad's Favorite 10 Vaporwave Albums video! :)
What is your favorite Vaporwave album!? Let me know!
Late night delight, i cant get enough of it
Deep Fantasy by S U R F I N G

awesome dude..and yep thats the goal! an opportunity to discover some music ya might like, from artists who deserve the attention....cheers and happy listening :)
The one take away I got from this video is that I'm super jealous of your vaporwave vinyl collection.
I've only listened to 20 of these albums and many have been one my list for some time now. I really need to step my vapor game up thanks pad, and nice use of Barbwalters(got Reconnect on tape).
Awesome! Reconnect is a banger....happy listening!
happy you put internet club's "liberated from the world" one of my favorite albums by far!
a true, glitchy classic!
Another great video pad, I was so looking forward to this!
PowerPC ME : Kmart 1989-1992 Is a fave of mine, great stuff. Your video got me a lot of new good stuff to zone to, your vid style also is easy listening 👍🏻
My favs list (will be updated)

-Late night delight
This dude is so into vaporwave he made this video... that is heavy.
just ur friendly neighborhood a e s t h e t i c
Thank you soo much for this! ever since i found this video i've been listening to each album 1 by 1 and enjoying everything that i've heard soo far! I'm on #9 atm but i can't wait what's in store for the rest of the albums i'll be listening to! My love for Vaporwave has been revived and i'm enjoying every second of it. Thank you soo much Pad Chennington!
I have to add "visualdesign '97" and "Atlantic Memories" by vcr-classique. On the latter, "Waves Over The Rainbow" is mindblowing.
Good list, the only thing I don’t like is that News at 11 isn’t on here
thanks! already had a ton of corp in there, hard to not include em all!
Love the video. For me it's gotta be Computer Death by Infinity Frequencies. It left Impression on the first listen, and from that point on, it's my favourite without a doubt.
ahhh yes yes. and thank you!
So glad this channel exists!
:) thank you for existing!
Also, we have very similar names
Pad Chennington it’s a happy accident
Best video ever man!! Always go here when I wanna be inspired. Big hug from 🇦🇷, love your videos.
dude thanks so much!!!!! means a lot!
i really needed this video in 2016. better late than never :)
;)
late to the party here. first and foremost thank you so much pad chennington for being the vaporguru that you are. been loving vaporwave for years now, sifting through its many diverse releases has been a trip. my favorite vaporwave album of all time would probably be DDS’ “I’ll Try Living Like This”, as it also is an all-time personal favorite.
Damn Pad, tyvm for all these. I discovered Vaporwave by chance a couple years ago and I LOVE it, it's opened the door to much more too. And this list widens the scope as well, thanks for that this world got a bit better!
Hologram Plaza, Palm Mall, and "Home" will be the top, in my own opinion.
セホホケ
The real way to enjoy vapor wave music
Take a shower, start with hot water, move into cold water, then back to hot water.
Lay down on any of these;
•Yoga mat on a hardwood floor
•Couch
•Bed
•Reclining gaming chair
Light a candle, scented, obviously.
If you have it, put a humidifier next to you. Steam makes you feel really fucking good.
If you have them, turn your LED lights to either dark blue, cyan, pink, or purple.
Then, lay down, play the music, sip your vibe juice, and just vibe out.
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to get into vapor wave to see what everyone else’s seeing and find my nitch
Can't thank you enough, Pad. Keep it up!
No no no Vanan thank you! Happy you enjoyed the video!
This video is everything I could have hoped for!!! You have an amazing taste in vaporwave, Pad.
Thank you Jose :) and thank you for being here since the beginnings of the channel! whats your favorite album of all time?
@@PadChennington It's really hard to pick one, but if I had to choose it would probably be I'll Try Living Like This or Y. 2089 .
I think some albums that could be added here are:
Chessmaster - I Am Chesumasuta
HKE - Dragon Soul
Sangam - Mount To Nothing
Cocainejesus - Adult
Love Potion - XXX
Echochamber - I’m real I’m here
Telepath & Nmesh - Path to Lost Eden
Giant Claw - Dark Web
Deaths Dynamic Shroud - Derelict
all great, great pics.. may make a part.2 in the future :) stay tuned!
This list is so good, Pad
Great job, seriously
Where's Lemkuuja - Cheesecake+ tho?
Thank you! glad you enjoyed it :)
Awesome list! Loved it and will look most of these up, but DEFINITELY missing vcr.classique to name at least one artist. His album "exotics" is so fucking amazing.
4 years later still a banger
Thanks for this list! Been looking to get more into Vaporwave and found this video through accident. A lot of these albums were on Spotify so now I have something to do while I travel to work.
Under two palms-Under two palms, Whitewoods-spaceship earth, 猫 シ Corp.-school days.
those are just a few of my favorites.
you cop the whitewoods vinyl?
@@PadChennington I got it within 2.3 seconds of it being released
I discovered Eyeliner buy now because of this video and now it's my favourite vaporwave album. Thanks Pad.
Cool list for welcoming new listeners definately! Nice choises Pad!
I think many other fellows would like to see in further videos more lists because we all know how much underrated stuff flows without a chance )))
100%! Lots of artists that did not make the list that still deserve a top spot and to be recognized, ill try to address as many as I can !
Ahha yes i've been waiting so long for this! right when i saw you uploaded this my audio went out. got it fixed finally. time to relax now. looks like i have more albums to listen to! ;)
One of the greatest videos on the internet. You are doing God's work, Pad.
this is the channel i didnt know i needed
Video : VAPORWAVE
First picture in video : OUTRUN
Sry, Im late but my favourite vaporwave album is Chuck Person’s Eccojams Vol. 1. And btw you are the best vaporwave channel.
AND YOU ARE MY FAVORITE VAPORWAVE CHANNEL
Thank you soo much for this list! I finally finished it and I'm so glad to have gone through it all one album at a time. 💖 it was an amazing experience and now that I have a good variety of artists I follow, I'm going to listen to the rest of their discography and explore more vaporwave genres/artists on my own . Thanks allot Pad!
why is nobody talking about the fact that there are sounds from Pokemon games in this video
I'd say my favorite is Yes! We're Open, but it's so, so hard to pick, and now you've given me a lot more to listen to...
Also Midnight Radio Deluxe is SO good, I love it.
Whitewoods - Spaceship Earth
The songs on that album were my introdyction to the genre. It changed my life.
Thanks Pyrocynical.
Never clicked a vid so fast in my life. Doin the Lord's work, I swear.
Pad! I will listen to try most mentioned here because i am very new to the genre. I will see how it goes.
Yes, I have! will definitely, definitely do one in the future...thank you for the well detailed comment!
my pleasure! love the content
Ey pad! Love to see more vaporwave videos! Keep up the good work🙏
Nothing from 18 Karat Affair?
Adult Contemporary is everything
Nah, no any Hwae sa Auto or any of my albums - too many cool things by Tele, Corp and HKE with Vektroid been released to close the eyes on the other stuff XDD I guess this list is more like overrated albums
part 2, one day :)
*carat
Im sorry
it would be cool to see a full review on yacht rock breaks, but great job pad! you actually introduced a lot in this, and i can tell you put in a lot of effort. keep it up man!
Holy hell; love the list, editing, and descriptions! I have some listening to do...
Thank you for including NTSC Memories in this list!
Same with 'Machintosh Updated Floral Experience'
After finishing 'Floral Shoppe'.
'Floor Baba Game Wave' is pretty good.
Windows 96 albums are absolutely great but PLEASE
go listen to Gudang - Nostalgi Gaius
It’s him as well ;)
Love the sweet little shoutout to Corp
Surprised to not see any EPs from Finlii or Winter Sleep .
Those releases are so good for the Winter ☃️
Spectacular video. I'll be making my way through this list for the next month or two :O
Turtleman...first off I love the name. Second, happy to deliver you some sweet tunes for the future! Happy listening, let me know what your favorites are!
Fantastic list! In Pad we trust!
I'd have to give more love to Dan Mason though. Miami Virtual 1 and 2 are classics and Memory is soaked with enough sax to make Slick Willy sweat
welcome back!
athankayou very much :) been a long couple of weeks lol
So many choices...
I think I’m overwhelmed with options.
take it s l o w w w w w
Cat System Corp - News at 11 is the only one I am missing, a work of art
"Camino 84 - Yacht Rock Breaks" and "2 8 1 4 - 新しい日の誕生 / Birth of a New Day" are by far one of my favorite vaporwave albums of all time. "NewEraDreaming - The End of an Odyssey" is also pretty good, though i wouldn't say its ground breaking or anything. Its just a really nice atmospheric album by my own standards.
Yacht Rock Breaks is a phenomenal album 👍👍
i'm really glad that vw folks like Yacht Rock Breaks but it's not really a vaporwave album
I’m surprised that Midnight Television didn’t make the list.
Lol). ❤💙💚💙❤
Well done!!
Thank you James! and yes, there are a ton more out there...crazy how 107 isn't even enough to cover all of it haha. part 2 one day my brotha
Part Two would be awesome to see!
I really would have included Soft Channel, but this was a solid list.
I might make a part 2 sometime in the future :) and yes, soft channel is a definite rock!
this video is so nostalgic for me…
eyeliner is from my home town wellgton i did meet him once at a a show he was nice
