Reminds me of someone I saw in an online forum years ago arguing with people that their fanfic was canon. People like this actually exist. It was a wild thread to read after it became clear the person wasn't trolling. That person got genuinely angry when people told them their fanfic was not canon.

Torbin speeds off towards the witches covern. Sol follows to stop him. But then they arrive at the same time and instead of stopping and being a master to Torbin, Sol is just like "Well we're here now, I'll just go against my own thinking"
Exactly. Even Watching Sol defend his actions without apologizing is anti to his whole demenaour in the rest of the series. It doesn't make sense.
Nobody talks about it because it's not a plot hole.
Sol definitely wanted to take Osha away and train her as his padawan as shown earlier in the episode.
Initially he chased Torbin down to stop him, but upon finding a locked door and hearing through the force that Osha couldn't leave he made a choice.

The show is not good, by any meaning of the word. However, it is easier to watch if you ignore ALL of headlands interviews (or are lucky enough to have not heard about them at all). Dont confuse what i am saying to mean the show is fine. It isnt even alright.
If the show had any quality of any kind whatsoever she would not have needed to make a single one of these interviews trying to explain over & over to the world what happens on the show.

The real Tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise is about him making an appearance in The Acolyte. Forgot Anakin, Darth Plagueis is now the the most tragic character in Star Wars. The reason he never became immortal is because he didn't want to live with the pain that he cameo in the Acolyte. And Sidious? Well, Darth Plagueis didn't die in his sleep, he only pretended to be sleeping so Palpantine can put him out of his misery. Poor Plagueis. Those 5 seconds in that show really scarred his soul.

Plagueis could of saved this honestly. Imagine this as an ending. The stranger helps osha build a lightsaber to go confront Sol. They get there same time of thing happens in the show but all 3 end up confronting Sol. A battle between Sol and the three of them happen(Mae would be using the tiny lightsaber from the stranger) as they continue to blame him for what happened. He does his aoe force wave but more aggressive as they fly back and get up to compose themselves you hear him say.
"I did nothing wrong. They attacked us. We defended ourselves. YOU BURNED THIS PLACE TO THE GROUND."
The camera then pans back from looking at all three of them readying themselves with a look of terror on their face. You see Sol standing there with his lightsaber out eyes glowing yellow you can even have the lightsaber turn red moment. He moves to strike them with new vigor that puts them all on their backfoot. He then proceeds to kill the stranger and then Osha. Mae takes the strangers and Oshas weapon and fights back eyes also yellow. Slices through Sols lightsaber and when she is just about to kill him he force pulls the strangers helmet towards him uses it to disable both lightsaber. Does some matrix fighting that they leaned into to disarm her. Then violently uses the helmet to bludgeon her to death while yelling. "You started the fire. You killed them all"
Camera pans around to Sols face covered in blood as you see a very well dressed respectable looking Darth Plagus standing behind him and it ends with. "You are right. They blamed you. The Jedi blamed you. Stay here and face their corrupted judgement... or come with me." He leaves and Sol follows. Then you just cut to the title card "The Acolyte".
Honestly Sol carried this entire show without him I will not continue to watch. This ending would make him the Acolyte and give people a reason to watch season 2.
Plaguies died in his sleep having a nightmare about the acolyte right before sidious electrocuted him💀
Darth Plagueis: "WITCHES!! TWO!! Palpatine, TWO!!"

9:15 The Sith were fighting for survival?? More like carefully planning a return to power, while nobody even thinks Sith still exist... She really has no idea what she is talking about, it's like saying Sauron or Voldemort were trying to get by before they suddenly were the biggest threat out there again. No, they were all rebuilding and the Sith at this point were basically in their final phase of their plan to return...
Unfortunately it's the misunderstanding of the lore that is ruining the franchise just thinking you can interpret the lore and change it at any point and it will fit like a puzzle doesn't happen

Facts
Reading Plagueis for the first time right now, if they ever adapt this story it would have to be a HBO/Andor style long form tv show. We can’t have 8 episode 30 minute trash like the acolyte.
It would deserve the budget and production only a movie could offer in my opinion

I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan in the world but a lot of my friends are and i know that this name means so much to many people for almost 50 years, and I can’t imagine how painful it must be to watch this once loved franchise slowly die away with the recent sequel trilogy and now shows like this were they are written by people who don’t know the story and clearly don’t care about keeping it authentic, like why are these the people coming up with this stuff, if you don’t know the lore or the story and have no intention to respect the original material then just stay away from it. I genuinely feel awful for fans who have to watch this painful death of a loved franchise.
Ehh, you get used to it. A lot of us stopped caring about new content a while ago. But it's also not like the older content, that sparked the fandom in the first place, just ceases to exist. And other franchises aren't exactly faring much better. Look at Lord of the Rings, Halo, Marvel etc.. Still, thanks for the kind words.

To be fair. 1 It’s a story about a dark side acolyte not a good guy. She just found out the Jedi all life to her her whole life and blamed the death of her mother on her sister when it was really him. The reason she failed as a Jedi was all the hate she carried and I’m sure that revelation broke her. 2 I didn’t see her mom try and kill her they never really clearly explained exactly what the intention was with the witches, she was ganna let her go.. memory wipe on sister was dumb as hell. BUT after rewatching I noticed a cloaked individual in the background during the whole flashback episode and I’m wondering if that was plagueis and he was using the witches to do all of this as an experiment. That would make me feel a lot better about him being in the finale.

That's all well and good, except the story completely glorifies her becoming evil which is the real problem. "No it doesn't." It does. Watch the scenes again and see how they're filmed, the music, the lighting, etc.

She turned into a demon force mist thing and the damn girl started disintegrating right in front of Sol's eyes. Bullshit. She said that, yeah, but I call bullshit. @djaydrane her mom told the witches she would let osha decide all while telling the jedi they couldn't have her. She turned into a dark cloud and started disintegrating Mae. Sol acted to defend Mae seeing as how the mother had previously possessed we one jedi and promised him all kinds of desires. Those are the actions of dark side users which is what she is. Witch magic is channeled though the darkside . Sol should have told osha why she killed her mother..then sol allows himself to be killed

The Acolyte is to SW as the Timeless Children is to Doctor Who. It’s not enough that Headland gets to do a Star Wars show; she gets to put her indelible stamp on it, introducing canonical elements that-rather than building on and enhancing what came before-warp and supplant it. Call it what it is: IP squatting.
I don't think anything is as bad to any canon as The Timeless Children is to Doctor Who. I never make any comparison to that absolutely destructive story line. It's truly one of one.

This is along the same lines as the people who found Dani's ending in Midsommar to be a happy moment, where she's finally understood and accepted. At least the director of Midsommar didn't intend for it to be intrepreted that way (as far as I know).
This just goes to show there's a lot of people out there with a fucked up moral compass. Sol was flawed. He shouldn't have lied to Osha, but he didn't deserve to die. Osha choking him to death is evil.
Sol killed because he thought the witch was going to harm him and the girls. Osha killed out of anger and malice, and based on the music and scene with her and Qimir at the end, it seems like Headland is trying to convey that Osha did the right thing. I have a lot of issues with the show, but that might be one of the more egregious problems.
Lesley does not give a F about the fans of the franchise. She is laughing her way to the bank as soon as season 2 gets greenlit by Disney. I have a feeling that in season 2 she really is going to destroy the entire Star Wars lore

I always thought that if we were to get a live action Plagueis, it would be on a show similar to Game of Thrones. Lots of meaningful dialogue in long episodes showing how clever Plagueis (and Palpatine) is, showing his scheming, showing ruthless scenes about how menacing and dangerous he actually is. But oh well. At the end I don't give a flying F anymore.
That’s what the real fans want and they will be called haters. No meaningful story lines that makes you think and submerges you, how can the Darth Plagueis novel be more interesting than a 180mil show.

It’s going to be hard for one of the most important mythical figures in Star Wars canon to NOT overshadow your fan fiction.
Why not have him in the show tho? This is the only show that takes place really during a time where he could be introduced.
I think the biggest problem with the show is not elaborating or even hinting at his role more. It should have been about Qimir and Vernestra.

My feeling is that he was just slapped in to get people to want a season 2 more than it being their intention all along.
And the problem would be that he overshadows the shows main character so you set yourself up for an uphill battle in future seasons to keep people interested in the shows main character instead of one of the franchises most iconic characters, his plans and what he is doing.
Plagueis went from menace, scholar, manipulator, and power player to a creepy dude with the dark side who peeps on humans when they bathe for his first apearance on screen, wow thats wild man is it canon now that he got his start peeping naked humans having a wash? So I recently read the Darth Plagueis novel. I hear Theory mention multiple times throughout his videos that plagueis had 7 acolytes. But in the book there was no mention of them. Then I searched on Google. Neither on Wookiepedia nor other websites was I able to find any mention of the 7 acolytes plaguies had trained.
Perhaps other books? Perhaps not on Wookiepedia as they edit stuff and have gotten rid of all the old EU? Perhaps read the book again, maybe the reference is more oblique?
@@Valen-mh9fh No. As far as I know there arent other sources. I would have definetly noticed if the book mentioned anything remotely about other acolytes under Plaguies. I also asked the STar wasr theory Discord server and the users agreed with me that this was never mentioned. We concluded that he mistook Plaguies with Dooku. I guess every one makes mistakes.
I'm not much of a star wars fan but I follow the news and watch EFAP every now and then so a have immense respect for someone who is calling out the bad story telling and not just selling out, subbed plus you Sketch of being Palp and Anakin was great. :)
Osha´s triumph? What triumph? She fell to the dark side. In Star Wars that equals failure and defeat. A characters tragedy. Allowing anger and hatred to control your actions and ultimately determine your fate is the opposite of triumph.

Exactly this! Even Anakin is understood as a failure when he turned to the dark side. A tragedy, not a glorification. A failure, not a triumph.

Actually I'm planning on doing a star wars fan series called tales of the sith. It'll be on my rexzilla Knight 03 channel. However I'm not sure if I will put plagueis yet
Plagueis was a big figure in the banking clan. He was super rich. The Sith weren't hiding out, they were hiding in plain sight, gathering resources and information, manipulating events from behind the scenes. Everyone knows that the more money you have, the higher you are in positions of authority you get, the more power you have. Add the personal powers of a Sith, and the fact that they only have two members, so they only choose those with the greatest potential as apprentices, there's no way in hell the Sith are scrounging in a cave, hiding from everyone. At most, this place is a remote location used to train in the Force with no witnesses around.
Also, Plagueis would be young and able to pass in society as a member of his species, not something that would scare children.

Because of the rule of 2, if they discard the whole rule of 2 philosophy it kinda throws everything after this (all the films including the Disney ones) out the window. The other reason they leave her behind is simply just to advance the plot in season 2 I am guessing, because if they just took her with them then left her somewhere then the Jedi would never find her and never use her to track down her sister and don't forget that none of them are mention in future films so they have to end up dead to leave no loose ends.

Either way, it's a terrible thing to do to someone. I think Headland was trying to get the Revan/Kotor angle in but executed it much more poorly than those video games did.

Don't second guess yourself dude. You have it spot on. The show just doesn't work and no amount of big name "beats" can change that. It can still be retrospectively fixed with clever writers going forward, but with the current team any series 2 direction is going to disappoint fans.

Plagieus should he about 15-20 years old here. He began training with Tenebrous at 5 years. So, many years of sith training at this point. He kills Tenbrous at about 80 years old. That would be yoward the final season. For, shortly after killing him, about two years later, he meets a 17 year old Palpatine. Then dies at athe hamd of his apprentice about thirty years later. Will the producers follow this timeline? we shall see.

And in that novel Darth Plagueis kills Darth Tenebrous wookiepedia says in 67 bby so that's 65 years after the acolyte which takes place in 132 bby. edit: funny enough Darth Plagueis's birth was estimated to have been 147 bby to 120 bby making him at most 15 years old during the acolyte.

This is the last time I engage with anything related in any obvious way to The Acolyte.
So, I will still be able to engage with Rebels, Clone Wars, Episodes 1 through 6, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, and the comics that aren't one shot money grabs or formalized storyboards exactly mirroring the show they follow.
There's a Kelnacca one shot comic coming out in a month or three, I'm sad I won't be able to engage with it. A Wookie Jedi, that would have been nice to see in Star Wars but, the Acolyte is not Star Wars and this is the last time I say anything about it.

I think there are 2 reasons Headland might have put Plagueis in the series:
1) she thought it would be fan service to the people who typically dislike Disney's Star Wars content
2) she's hoping the shock factor of bringing in such an important character would basically force a 2nd season
I never put much stock in Star Wars reviewers as a filthy lore nerd myself, especially when the 'new' Star Wars started to happen. I wasn't super impressed by some of it, but it was more Star Wars and I was happy and honestly felt that most people needed to get over themselves. It's not going to all be The OGs, The Obi and Ani Show, or Clone Wars.
But man, everything you've been saying about this show resonates so hard with me now. Thirtyish years as a Star Wars fan and I have found something to love about *all of it* until now. I accept that Acolyte is part of our world, but god damn if it's not just a shit part. That being said, thank you for being a voice of reason in this. Too many reviewers focus on Leslye and friends being a bunch of weirdo woke cunts, raging out about the state the franchise is in, or making lore arguments that don't really carry weight when looked at through a broader lens. So thank you for being able to point out the things that feel wrong, or just plain bad, about the show and still supporting the fact that people should try to find enjoyment in it if they can. Not me, mind you, but other people. I mean that's why we're all here, right? To enjoy space wizards with laser swords and women in white dresses without underwear.
Anyway, I think I'll be checking out your backlog now that the reviews are currently better content than the franchise.
I haven't heard Star wars theory say anything about the the use of the return of the Jedi Yoda.
He has though, it's ridiculous that Yoda could be kept in the dark and not sense the consequences of almost everything that happened in this series.
Otherwise there isn't really much to say about a ~3 sec cameo from the back of his head at the end of the season.

They could use the fact that the Jedi temple is built on top of a Sith temple and that is clouding their minds but I'm pretty sure Yoda still would of sensed the deaths in the acolyte, considering he sensed Anakin slaughtering the tusken raiders in Attack of the Clones, also Darth Plagueis took on the role of trade federation diplomat, I can't see him lurking around in caves like they had him do in the acolyte.

But that time period, the chronological sequence in which these events transpired render them part of the “traditional” era opposed than Disney’s modern era of Star Wars.
