Vlog of a guy from London, living in a van finds his sole-mate and falls in love with her.
These are the details from the proposed changes to the parking at Mam Tor, I’ve written them out from the pictures so they’re easier to see ☺️
All objections to the proposals need to be made in writing by 10/2/2023.
They have to include a name and address apparently, and be sent to

with the state of the economy and people being skint all the time you would think councils would make space or open existing ones up for van dwellers ,,,,we will be parking next to houses .

Absolutely true. The councils are overstepping their mandate in most areas. I am always writing to my MP and the replies are vanilla without saying anything, typical politician. But we do need to campaign if we want to retain our freedoms. Thanks 🇬🇧

Land by boat you get given a place to live free of charge. Government and councils should welcome the vanlife community for saving housing and energy.
You cannot do anything in this country now without having to pay money. Even in Snowdonia you cant park free on the roads. Used to be able to park up , hike up into the mountains to wild camp and then come down next day. Not anymore. Car will get a ticket or towed.
Yea I've noticed. I have been lucky enough to have done it. Climbed hiked been out on the hills and leave the car for days. I couldn't believe they have made so many places paid parking.
I went to Portmeirion in the summer and had to sleep in the car in a grotty back street in Porthmadog. No parking anywhere and signs in every pull in. I did this after checking the price of the hotels.
It will kill British tourism. The people that own these expensive hotels think it's great cos they can charge high price. But trade will die.
I took photos of the signs up outside Blue John caven but iam thinking this does not stop parking I think its amied at more parking roadside not in parking bays like at bottom on turning area when idiots block the buss
I did see on main road at top where walkers park on grass all had parking tickets but there's no yellow lines so there getting tougher
Alright Paul, paid parking bays will not be affect. Not sure about the free parking bays. It wouldn't surprise me if they become paid bays. Can even go for a walk in this country without paying. It's not just vanlife though it's walkers climbers bikers dog walkers the lot. It screws the lot. It's not even a no parking it's a no stopping so can't even take a photo or drop someone off.
@@Roadshome theres been issues with camper parking taking up several bays outside the blue john mine stopping mine visitors from parking to my knowledge last year
Yes there are a few van owners that realise blue John needs space for visitors and they do try to ask other who park there to leave it free. Most van owners are also aware a van takes more room than a car but you will always get the odd few.
Nice video i grew up not far from there but have never van camped. gunna make it in 2023!!

Why do you say that ? Surely a road with vans parked on it isn't any harm especially when it's out the way and not near peoples homes. At night it would be in effect totally empty. What's the advantage of that ? So the council closes as many roads as it likes and put up paid to park car parks. Just to visit the country side that should be free to the people. But it's not free if we all have to pay to get out our cars or vans. It's the governments idea of these 15 minutes cities where we all work live and shop within 15 minutes of our home. I've been wild camping for four plus years fulltime vanlife living with not one single problem so it seems like your area or beauty spots..oh and yes I have an address..cheers.
It's not just vanlife though unfortunately. Walkers, cyclists, dog owners and most importantly disable people. It's a no stopping order. So you can't even stop to take a photo. 😬 I've been in my van 3.5 years now and not had a single problem. I only stop over in that area a night or 2 them move on. If everyone did the same we wouldn't be where we are today.
Absolutely agree..I work 6-2pm weekdays so I always have had a mindset of getting to somewhere late and away early even on weekends probably why I never have bother.
Shared out on to twitter and a usa platform .it's indeed becoming silly it's almost like it's we are the Lord of the land and you common people can stay in your small areas routine.
On top.of this we are now seeing what is called 15 min city's where you have zones (Oxford bath cantobury etc ) where you can only take your cars out a set number of times .
Here in Sheffield the council are bringing in charges for taxis buses hgv etc for grade of vehicles pollution wise on the inner ring road system set charge each day .this will no doubt be extended to everyday vehicles.
It's all part of stopping our ever day life net zero rubbish how you travel where you can go what you can do how you live etc etc .
They is indeed a big fight ahead on many issues and people need to wake up fast

This is really sad, Mark. A total shock, as I never knew this. We love Mam Tor and was going to return, but it looks like that won't be happening 😢
Don't give up, get an objection in and maybe if we get enough it will get stopped

Yes and anything take away is never returned ie petrol goes up but rarely down.

@Roads home hopefully be doing the same again come spring. Friends got a lovely vanlife air in Galloway called Frugaldom so it's my base camp for future adventures. Exploring keeps me going. Take care Mate. Love and Hugs ❤️

@@Roadshome what some people don't get. Yeah there is a space to get your van in. But bizy just adding to the problem. Personally if there more than 3 vans park I move on. Normally park on my own.
I prefer to park alone, even when at the drove (impossible to be alone) I park up at the far end near Willoughby road. Someone once said to me "your vans out of place here, all the nice motorhomes park down that end. 🤣 I said yeah but I'm out of place down that end with all those posh motorhome owners. 😳🤣
@@Roadshome thing you no what my response would have been. I've park up where you could probably get 30 van + them someone's park 3 foot away from me. There where some chosen words said lol
