Was quite interesting until your wife would put items in the cupboard and you switched off to watch her. You would have done better just with the info and rearranged your cupboards after your clip.crazy
Hi Allan, unfortunately I didn’t have much time to edit this one and it fell on Tupperware Tuesday. You are right, of course, and we’ll take this feedback on board for our next videos. We’ll have more time now that the cupboards are sorted. Thanks for watching.
I’ve just discovered your channel, you two are hilarious, I’ve been watching all afternoon and got nothing done, the wife’s gonna kick off!! Cheers guys, good luck 🤞
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Haha, great sketch lol, at 9:57 you reach and grab the wrong glass (flower glass) and drank from it and subtly noticed that something wasn't right; then at the end the cupboard disaster 😆I enjoyed the humour side very much 🤣
My service engineer has told me some horror stories when he's inspected motorhomes/caravans. It's a suggestion, but when you decide on a van, have it inspected independently before parting with your money.
I am not a Yorkshire man but a Welsh one I like the silliness I could not stop laughing I think people today don’t realise good old fashion humour that does not need to be clever but just silly I would love to spend and evening with you two make me cry laughing good on you take life to serious become a stone well done great attitude you have love it
I kept telling her but unfortunately she just won’t listen. Thanks for watching though, if you watch to the end I managed to make a really cool techno beat you might enjoy out of her Tupperware as it falls out of the cupboard.
Don’t give up hope. We spent about a year looking before we found what we wanted. Don’t compromise on what you want. It’s a big decision so wait and get it right.
Yet another great vlog, it was like two story lines running simultaneously (it’s great trying to work out where it’s going) you both always make me laugh, although this week the comments (claire) made me fall off me chair 😂🤣😂, please don’t change the great format.
Hi. How are you Glad you enjoyed and that we make you laugh! Our format is a bit quirky isn’t it but we have no plans at all to change it 😂 😂 Have a fab week 👋
We actually found the dealers to be the same. We ended up at the motorhome show in Birmingham, bought a new van, but got discounts, as all the dealers were there and trying to out-do each other.
Look towards The Motorhome Man a fellow You Tuber. We went to him explained we weren’t in a position to buy but we’re researching he spent an hour with us telling us what to look out for good and bad. We ended up with an Apache 634 high line as I’m 6,3 and the rear lounge coverts to a super king in 2 mins. Good luck and thanks for the laughs it’s refreshing 👍
Hi guys, we sold our house and bought our first motohome in July this year. After much research and recommendations from long standing van lifers we drove 100 miles to Oaktree Motorhomes in Nottingham. Fantastically friendly and helpful staff, loads to choose from and they give you plenty of added goodies, like free habitation check, free 12 months mot and warranty. Gotta be worth a try.
What a bizarre channel, please do keep taking the piss out of all these awful dealers. Oaktree have a very good reputation indeed. I’m sure you could do worse than to give them a call?
Andrew and Claire and the dog buy a car and a caravan stuff the gas guzzling motorhomes that you have to put everything away to go for a drive and find somewhere to park the truck
Get a caravan with a motor mover fitted. Ok, it might take a lot longer to get to your destination but it'll be tax free, no diesel costs, no MOT, not Ulez charges and life will seem much more relaxed.
Hi. Claire here and I live caravans!! This is a really good point and thank you for commenting and giving us really advice here. We wish you an amazing week ☀️
How about some pics and vids of the dodgy crappers you went and saw. 21 minutes is along time to be watching a brightly illuminated kitchen with just you 2 talking, although your woman is pleasing to the eye ha ha.
Good point. Claire here. Unfortunately, I don't look as good in bright daylight and there was always the chance that my reflection might have been caught in one of the motorhome windows as we filmed it so we thought it was best to stay inside where we could control the lighting. Thanks for watching.
There is a place called oaktree or something they are supposed to be brilliant. They also fit extra solar next door if needed. That's where I'll go when I'm ready :)
Sorry to hear, and see your disappointment trying to find a new van. I can only offer help in saying what you are experiencing is unfortunately my experience of ‘normal’. You honestly have to assume everyone is lying, and also assume you will be disappointed when you view. There is a lot of tat out there. Remember the higher mileage ones may be ex rentals. To be honest I’ve found dealing with (decent) private sellers better than most dealers - and I’d include motorhome depot as these are effectively private sales. You can either go on your own research and gut instinct, or organise your own hab check / mot / inspection before buying. Keep the faith, keep looking, assume everything is crap, and one day will be a good day! Good luck!
I thought it only fair to offer some advice from experience in twenty five years of owning motorhomes being involved in the industry for a while and having two brothers heavily involved in the van motor trade for forty years. Motorhome owning is a big commitment and you are right to be wary and standing strong on getting your purchase. Plenty of yt vids of owners having warranty work on many different brands. Rob and Lyn mention it recently on the number of times there van of just a couple of years age has been back in for warrenty work and very noticable in our friends network are build quality of Autofails. The Ruck Family recently having issues with their Roller Team which prompted a fair response from the community seemingly having the same issues. Sadly its not uncommon to hear tales of woe but from my brothers own mouths from their longtime in the van trade in that the least popular and most unreliable panel van the Fiat seems to be the conversion companies chassis of choice. They are baffled. I agree with the German brands generally being a better build but recently at the NEC we certainly questioned some of those on display so good luck and I hope it all turns out good for you and stay strong in your correct approach on not buying on impulse. Good luck.
Hi Paul, thanks for watching our video and a bigger thanks for your advice. We want to be sure we have the right layout for us and of course at an affordable price for us. We hope to see you out on our travels 🚐
Honestly sounds like it’s better to rent at this time because the automobile market is in a free fall right now and the RV market will be right behind that wait it out just my two cents
I didn't like Rollerteam Motorhomes because of build quality. I bought my Swift Bessacarr Hi-Style 599 2018 ex demo & virtually brand new with 8,000miles . Absolutely Love it ❤
Hi - buying a van that suits you can be incredibly time consuming and frustrating, we spent over a year looking for one! Currently, it's a sellers market unfortunately as post covid delays continue for new vans which means good used ones are in short supply, hence the lack of discounts. You're also looking for a 6m which is the sweet spot for many as some will be upsizing from campervans and others downsizing from bigger vans. Not sure what layout you're looking for but you'll struggle with fitting in transverse beds, which basically means either a rear (or side) lounge/jigsaw bed, a drop down (like the rollerteam you rented), or a bigger van with longitudinal beds. Most British vans have the former. While your budget is a large amount of money, prices continue to rocket (due to supply) so you get less for your money - a van that cost around £40k pre covid can now comfortably be £70k. Most view British vans as inferior to continental vans so prices also reflect that. In truth all vans can have problems, but always best to buy quality. The average motorhome mileage in the UK is between 2k to 3k pa and UK vans build quality reflect that and tend to suffer more from damp and poor installations. We recently toured Morocco, Spain, France, Portugal and met a few new Rollerteam, Swift and Autotrail owners who were less than complimentary about their vans. You also have potential issues to consider with the base models. I'd avoid any ducato between 2016 and 2018 due to Fiat using a twin egr setup to avoid fitting adblue - these can be hugely problematic and expensive to fix when they go wrong (and they will), fine if you've only done 6k in them from new but a problem for the next owner. I'd also avoid the comformatic semi automatic - again huge bills can occur. Also avoid the Transit between 2016 to 2018 due to injector and wet belt issues. Taking the above into account you can see why your options narrow and your search widens! Looking at PVCs will give you more choice, even better if you can consider 6.36m to accommodate longitudinal beds. UK built PVCs also tend to be less damp than their coach built equivalents, e.g. Elddis CV20s are popular, more so for taller folk (if you can live with the jigsaw bed/lounge), and there's and active support group on facebook (I don't own an Elddis) which helps. These are much better than Elddis's coachbulit models. You might also want to look at Chausson - several are in the 6m territory and some have a drop down bed. Finally, have a look at www.motorhomefun.co.uk - there's a wealth of support, reviews and info on models, manufacturers and dealers. Plus the advice from members is invaluable. Good luck and if you need any info just shout!
Hi Tony, Thank you for watching our video and taking the time to comment. You have some awesome advice here that we are appreciative of. It’s such a minefield! Will look at Motorhomefun, I think when buying something so expensive the research element is pivotal!! We hope to bump into you on our travels 🚐
Another cracking and humorous video, covering a very serious topic. We bought our first motorhome in 2010 for the princely sum of £12500. It was a McLouis from a private seller, a great little van that we had for 2 years. They were a lovely family, honest and helpful............its not hard to judge character even via emails and phone calls. The trick is to trust yourself to weed out the dishonest chancers, which you can usually manage in the first stages of contact...............we are now on our 10th van, all bought and sold privately, lots of negotiations on prices and not one problem with either buying or selling, we detest the thought of buying from dealers because person to person is a much more direct and rewarding process (and way less expensive). Don't let yourselves be drawn into the myth that buying from a dealer is much safer because of warranties etc. You can buy warranties if you want one. Happy to share our experiences buying and selling if you'd find it useful ? BTW we had a Roller Team Zefiro 690 G, brilliant van, zero issues, great value.
Hi Steve, Thanks for this. Cracking price for your first van! We can’t wait to get our very first motorhome. We hope to bump into you guys out on the road 🚐
Hiya Andy n Claire getting the right motor home with warranty a must, I live a couple of miles away from Kimberley caravans n motor homes Darlington just of the A1 , if there’s anything you seen on they website I can go have a look for you first to save you time n a journey , they are well know company with a branch at Nottingham as well , I own a motor home years ago n loved it, good luck .
Hi Trevor, Thank you for your very kind offer to do this for us 😍 We can’t wait to get ours, we find that motorhome owners wave at each other when they pass on the road and we love that!! 👋 Hope to see you on the road
I've a 2017 Autotrail Tribute as you mentioned. Had it a year now and thankfully had no issues at all. It's been through our terrible Scottish winters and never missed a beat or dripped a drip. Bought it off a wee family run business up here in the North East of Scotland. Couldn't fault them at all. I think a lot of the bigger, established companies don't give a toss about their customers once they get a sale.
Imho a seller refusing to negotiate on price isn’t being rude or unfriendly. Maybe the seller just insists on the price they’re selling it for. On the contrary, buyers making ludicrously low offers or refuse to accept that the price is firm are sometimes rude when this is made clear. Too many people think they are Mike Brewers.
Hi Guys. Had very similar experiences when looking for a Motorhome. Visited Oaktree & Lincoln Leisure Vehicle on the strength of reviews on youtube and elsewhere, but both proved that the shabby second hand car dealer is now the shabby second hand motorhome dealer for all the reasons you have mentioned, and more. Also tried Motorhome Depot ....Asked for a test drive and the guy kicked off....accusing me of being a time waster!!!!!!. Anyway, eventually bought privately. Did all the homework, checks, exams etc and saved literally thousands. ( van is a 2020 Elddis Accordo 105: less than 6m) Cheers Russ
Love your vlog as I’ve mentioned before your morals and principles are like ours old fashioned but straight and honest unfortunately it’s not how many man6 people are today. Having watched this vlog I’m disgusted with these people’s rip off behaviour. Me personally I would have taken detailed photos and listed them along with the advert also warning people off going to buy . Free speech ,real facts and photos are not false or lying I think it would be extremely difficult for someone to sue you
Hello Jerry. Happy Monday! Good morals are priceless in our opinion. We thank you so much for watching and hope to see you out in your travels (in our MH!!!) … hopefully!
Have you looked at the motorhome msn channel or the caravan place both have motorhomes and because they have RUclips channels might be a bit less likely to rip you off I’m not vouching for these guys but might be worth a look 👍 good luck!
I can see a few people are recommending Oak Tree Motorhomes, I had solar, inverter and lithium installed by them and had great service. Open 7 days and all vans are open for you to look round.
If you think the pre-sales service levels are appalling, just wait till you may have to get something fixed. We bought from a large dealer in the South West. All they worry about is the glory days of the 1950’s where customer service wasn’t really a thing. For all that money, you expect a little more.
Hi. It’s big cash so we definitely expect good service and it does put us off if the initial engagement isn’t great. Thank you for watching our video and have a great week
We bought a scamp, here on Prince of Wales island, used it twice , and decided we didn't use it enough, but we can't get our selfs to sell it , so it sits in our back yard . Then we bought beach front property, we went all Gung ho on it at first even built the pad and rd now it sits, I haven't seen it in over a year, now we're just making beer, 😅 telling you all this while shaking my head !😂
Did I spy Andy drinking from the glass you put a flower in claire 😆.... Nice prop at the end too 👌 Aside all that, good luck with your search for a bigger home on the road. It's great that you're sharing your experiences albeit it not being a positive run so far. If it saves others from falling fowl, you'll gain some knowledge at least, your journeys not been entirely in vain.... The right one will come along for you both and you can continue to make many more happy memories together. Ive got my Fingers crossed for you.🤞
@@Stchristopherofatlantis ha! I spent 2 years looking for the right van to deck out.......and 6 years turning it into a beautiful custom motor home...,.
Don't. Lose faith. There are great secondhand motorhomes out there. FYI ours is a 2018 MH that does NOT have adblue and is euro 6 compliant for all the zones when checking online. Fiat made such engines until 2018/19. Means to me none of the adblue potential issues in future. We recently bought a German MH from Elite motorhomes Banbury- good service, family run dealer, delivered on time, even gave a free night at local campsite for us to use/checkout MH to ensure no issues before we returned home. We will look there again when we next buy. Had British built MH before and must say the build quality and attention to design & detail of the German MH is in a different (better) league.
We are changing our motorhome (it would not be suitable for you guys). We understand what you say. Too many sales people, who are indifferent and frankly off hand. These businesses have profited from Covid, when demand far outstripped supply. I believe that they will shortly change their tune, due to high interest rates which makes borrowing so much higher, recession and over supply. The dealers are hiding the downturn in trade. Many dealers appear over stocked. On balance, we are not going to have anything to do with these muppets until September, when I believe demand will be lower and many of these businesses, (if they survive that long) will be strapped for cash. The UK's attitude to customer care is poor. I anticipate that many of our European neighbours would have sighed with relief when they heard that we had voted to leave the UK. Something about 'Manners maketh man------------- Good luck with your search.
Love the humour guys, keep up the great work! We purchased out motorhome last May from Caravan and Campers Ltd (The Motorhome Man on RUclips). His vans are competitively priced so there wasn't much wiggle room but I can honestly say that these guys have been excellent to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. After using the van a few times we discovered a problem and reported it to our dealer. The issue was dealt with immediately and to our satisfaction. So its not all negative and there are good dealers out there who are willing to provide a good service. I just hope that when you identify the van you want you get a similar service. Good luck!
Hi. Thanks for watching our video and a big thank you for commenting We have seen the Motorhome man so this is good to know. We think service is really important so will check him out Thank you and have a great week
You guys are hilarious. Why are people in the motorhome market such silly bunts? bare faced liars would be accurate. The woman who had all the details about the curtains sounded interesting. Did you try to bribe any of them with cake? I would have purchased that first one, if he had thrown in a waitress for the first 10,000 miles. Few good ideas there. I hope you do find something spectacular guys.
Hi. Thank you so much for watching! Yeah we definitely have met some who were very very economical with the truth, it’s such a pain. Cake!! GREAT IDEA 💡 😂 😂 Have a great week. I’m off to buy a Battenberg
Hi we are members silver pound (old)!!! Whilst trying to find our retirement dream motorhome, met some of the rudest salesmen ever, it was just after the NEC show so I think they’d made their commission for the month so couldn’t give a dam, so bad in one top place in Notts we just walked straight out. The answer to our prayers in the shape of Nigel our salesman from SMC, although many of their new vans are way out of our price range, their secondhand ones are great. We did end up pushing the boat out & brought a new Pilote G740fc the offer was too good to miss, & Nigel has been a star, looking after us. Good luck on your search.🎉🎉
Hi. Yeah us too.. there is no need to be rude, it’s just silly (we think!) Your van sounds awesome, we hope to bump into you on your travels 🚐 have a great day
Dealers dont do deals as Motorhomes are so sought after nowadays. That said, they hold there price if not exceed when sold but mine is for life 😁 Just looking for, The perfect lovely lady to join the fun with me 🤣😅😁🎵🎶🕺❤️
Try Highbridge Motorhomes and Chelston Motorhomes in Somerset. We have bought from both in the past and been pleased with the service. We have owned an Autotrail van (which we hated... bits kept dropping off it), a Rapido which was really good quality; an Adria A class which was lovely but a very small payload; a Possl (German Globecar) which I really liked and was very solid; and we now have a Swift Mondial which I also really like. we have had A class, coachbuilt and now own a van conversion. The van conversion is so easy to drive, gives us 40mpg, has air suspension so nothing rattles and drives like a car.
I'm in the trade, run a branch of Highbridge. If you're up north try my friend Ben at Emm Bee Bury or Todd's or Campbells or Motorlands in Preston all good. Sounds like that was a nail of an ex rental, a lot of rental vans get hammered for 3 years. T line are decent vans, Benimar Mileo 202, Chausson 530 are other good 6m dropdowns. Higher quality options at ethe rapido 600 and 700ff, Adria Matrix 590, Burstner 585 or 595, older buy higher quality
Enjoyed hearing about your experiences but all that faffing about with the kitchen cupboards.... All that messing around made good content awful viewing. You aren't the RUclipsrs for me - thanks but no thanks
Second hand RV’s generally overpriced and old and come with the same problems as us, they wear out, compare them to a 10 year old car which has a design life of 5-7 years, electric battery’s 3-4 years. The market is driven by driven by older people with money.
🤣i took ages finding and so many lemons 😅 i ended up buying from motorhome depo. Yes i did not have alot but it was hard earned 20 k. They told me full respray, nope half, decals off on part tgat sprayed rest scabby could not see. Told me enough petrol to get home lol bairly made it to petrol station around corner. Ok so gets home excited for first trip. Ok not working had to get RAC. Battery...went on merry way...camp ground. Oh no no water etc. Oh and again battery dead and when started and been running engine would just cut out. No happy so i emailed and called under warranty. Demanded they repair all issues and was a list..wanted me to drive nottinghan 3 hours to take...a van that dont work! Nope demanded recovery which i got one way but had to collect. Issues elecrrics and pipes got replaced. Hab battery replaced. And few other isses. Great got van back assured me all done. Gets home next trip battery dead..did not replace or change!!! I had to buy new one. Hot water pumping out boiler to the outside..no showers for me!!! No warranty left as they dragged out repairs of course so warranty run out..would i trust motorhome depo..NO great innitial service till they got your money!!! Also told them i became widowed and wanted this for son and i. Hubby was military served our country but they did not care. Would of expected better. Thats my gripe🤔
Hi. Thanks for watching our video Crikey, this was a terrible experience for you. Do you still have the van? We are really sorry to hear this but (hate to say it) not too surprised We wish you and your son very many happy future travels 🚐 ☀️
We've a 26 year old Autosleeper on Peugeot cab 63,000 miles and we love it, I have experience at work with Ford Transits 2017 -2020 with serious issues to cylinder head and injectors, please stick with Citroen- Fiat- Peugeot for reliability, love the videos, wondered what Claire was up to with those Tupperware boxes 😂😂😂 good luck with the search.
We quickly knocked the idea of getting a motorhome on the head when we saw the tacky overpriced crap the dealers were selling - even those priced at £40,000 and above. Get a caravan. More room and luxury for less money, plus you have the freedom and flexibility of having your tow vehicle without having to pack away every time you want to go somewhere.
I spent a month, welding up a camper during lockdown... Not for me. It was an elderly couple, who bought the van to take their grand kids on trips. Normally i will not touch them. Most campers are built on the cheapest van chassis.. It, apparently needed, two small plates welded in the wheel arches.... Hundreds of photos later, explanation every day, why...and to what iwas doing... Normally i would have said NO! ITS SCRAP, but i know they had been scammed out of 23k A month to make it safe...and really road worthy... The powers that be, really need to tighten up the MOT for corrosion ... And all these campers suffer from it.... Just spraying black waxoil underneath, doesnt solve anything.... Rant over....
Hi, Thanks for watching our video, this really is a terrible story, how can someone could do that to an elderly couple is beyond us. Wishing you the very best
Too busy looking at missis's facial expessions to follow the "script". Entertaining. Alas, there's too many conniving twats out there who'd rob their grannies, i'm sure of it. Seems like ya well versed to "deal" with 'em, any rode.
My brother hired one for a holiday it was so much red tape. He lucky has own home. That's why go five star inclusive. What about your safety? Some sold home and brought a van, personality buy van if want but don't sell home maybe rent it or use van for trips or working away
We bought a Rollerteam 590 privately and we are very happy with it, it’s a lovely motorhome. Don’t avoid private sales, not everyone is dodgy. Good luck in your search. We love watching your videos.
Our 590 is an 18 reg apparently 17& 18 reg were fitted with cheap decals some of ours are badly faded but have found a local business who will replace all of the decals with quality vinyl for £560 which I thought was pretty good.
Layout, layout and layout. Once you’ve decided what you want go to Oaktree Motorhomes in Nottingham. Brilliant service and no hard sell. They leave you to wander around looking at whatever you want. We bought ours from them 6 years ago and took out the 3 year warranty which was fully honoured when the engines water pump failed (which is what you want) Would def use them again
Hi. We agree with you that layout is important 🚐 A few people have told us about oaktree and all very positive! Word of mouth is a great advert 😁 Thank you very much for watching our video
That lunch reveal made me genuinely laugh out loud 😂 seriously though, I used Motorhome Depot and I found the salesman to be open and above board. He pointed out the outstanding issues and didn't hide a thing. Ok, it wasn't perfect but it was decent for the price I was prepared to pay.
bought mine privately after long searching. you never get what you want it is always a compromise this one ticked all the box's but i'll stick with it and change interior elements as opposed to change the vehicle. thats motorhomes.
You 2 are such rogues!!! On the serious front though unfortunately the world is so full of bxxxshxxxxers; and salesmanship and customer service has gone out of the window. Also think more and more people are escaping tv and computers and getting out either via campervans or canal boats so van sellers can demand top whack!
Hi Guys Two recommendations Lincolnshire leisure, Lincoln, privately owned, lovely people, trusted Glossops, north Derbyshire, same Both gave outstanding service and a deal!
Hi, I'm a subscriber to your channel , enjoy your videos too. There's a guy on RUclips with a channel called Urban Motorhomes, he bought his latest from Oak Tree Motorhomes in Nottingham . He was really impressed with them and did a video of how he came to buy from them and did a deal to plug them on RUclips . He's quite well known and has given talks at the NEC caravan and Motorhome show. He's got a video up, Pros and Cons of Buying a Second Hand Motor Home, amongst others. I'm sure as a fellow RUclipsr he’d be helpful if you contacted him, and it would make good content for a video for both of you if you could meet up
Hi both. I'm on my 3 motorhome, swift 597 bessacarr. It's my third Swift and in my humble opinion the best interior. Didn't find it hard to find the van I wanted but learnt lots about the layout over the years and what worked and this is by far my best one. I was a cash buyer and bought private every time for the best price. Its a fact dealers put 10k minimum on any partex they take. Motorhome depot in my experience are genuine people from my experience viewing a van in Nottingham. Swift vans are not cheap as that rude salesman told you lol. Like all makes they have the budget entry escape and then the top Kon tiki. The best advice I can give you is don't buy a van without a recent habitation check and possibly use some finance so you can reject the van if there are major issues. Damp is the biggest issue and can write a van off with the cost of repairs. Join lots of Facebook groups to get as much info as possible by asking questions . Also my van is ulez zone excempt in all city's but doesn't use add blue so you know. Any help just ask no problem. Good luck. Ps best item I ever bought, love it and travel all year round.
Hello. Thanks for this and a big thank you for watching our video We went for a Benimar Mileo and the interior works well for us and the dogs. We just love being in it and like you we can travel all over!! Wishing you many happy travels 👍☀️🚐
Just found this page on my RUclips, looks pretty good so far, wishing you good luck on your travels. I’ve got to say, I had to ask my wife, how long has Jason Manford had tattoos?!! lol, Andrew doesn’t half remind me of him!! No harm meant… wishing you well for the future.. stay safe, enjoy. We’re from Yorkshire living in Alberta Canada.
Hello fellow Yorkshire folks 😀 we are so glad you found us and welcome to our channel 👍 Thanks for watching and we wish you a great evening Jason Manford 😂😂😂😎
Vultures are waiting for retirement money in every industry Andy, kitchens, roofing, loft insulation you name it, everyone wants you to put the entirety of your pension into theirs. Love the show
You think buying a secondhand van is bad try buying a new one… we ordered a brand new Adria last August and told a 3 month wait… 15 months later we were told thanks for your patience’s waiting so long for your van but it’s went up £10,000 since you ordered it…What a way to treat people.
Hi. We have heard of this and our view is that it is ridiculous and should not be allowed. We are sorry to hear this. However, when you get it, it will be incredible 😍👍🚐 Thank you for watching
After working in the motorhome industry and for one mentioned in the comments as great salesmen, let me tell you most are sharks, we fitted white plastic shower board in lockers to hide damp filled plenty of floors with resin and over boarded cupboards to hide damp patches to mention just a few. My advice when buying a used motorhome is go to the bigger dealers they pass the rubbish onto the smaller dealers on a patch's of gravel who just knob them up minimum outlay maximum profit...
Your best getting the AA to check it before buying they will check vehicle's if you buy a vw you wont go wrong ther well made and parts are very easy to get unlike others
Spend the extra money and go for a German built van, something along the lines of Hymer, Carthago or Weisburg. The build quality is better and will last you longer.
I got stung buying a fiat Ducato but my fault for being gullible , I want to get one to live in, now I can't take my NHS pension to do it ,it's a horrible life under the Tories everything is bent ,but there is fare people out there
Have faith, trying to find a good un, is like trying to find rocking horse ****. We searched high and low for months, traveling many miles to view, what were basically neglected rich man's toys, never serviced, habitation checked, cambelt needed replacing 5000mls ago and tires badly worn and out of date etc... and basically not cleaned in-sided and out. But keep searching and be prepared to cover some miles to view, and you will eventually find one that's been someone's pride and joy. A good tip would be perhaps go that extra £££ and get one that's a keeper, even if you have to spend a few quid for minor fixes. Trust me that's horses for courses regardless to it's age (new), cost and mileage etc.., anyway that's enough of me babbling on, good luck.👍
I think the whole industry is a con job, they're still looking daft money for a 1995 Talbot say, a big dealer here, Northern Ireland, was jailed on Thursday for 3 yrs for ripping his customers off to the tune of over 400 grand
Hi most European motor homes are very similar buy the one you like. I've had a lot of motor homes, American and European. I would look at privately owned motor homes, you will save a lot buying private.
The prices now are going to go down so you both just wait a few months. Dont touch anything made here. Hymer or Adria . But do look at how those companies build there units. Thats if your going for new. Good hunting.
Hi guys, think youve been misinformed about the Adria. We have a 2018 dethleffs euro 6 without ad blue and its clear on all the zones. I would double check the info, maybe you can buy the Adria. X
Oh guys 😞 gutted for you. Spring loaded cupboards are the worst 😂 Seriously though, I will send you our info on Insta. Thank you for your video update, still funny even though you are frustrated xx APT 🐾
@@Stchristopherofatlantis LOLLING Loved this. Pernickety people HA HA HA
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Haha, great sketch lol, at 9:57 you reach and grab the wrong glass (flower glass) and drank from it and subtly noticed that something wasn't right; then at the end the cupboard disaster 😆I enjoyed the humour side very much 🤣
🤣🤣🤣👍
My service engineer has told me some horror stories when he's inspected motorhomes/caravans. It's a suggestion, but when you decide on a van, have it inspected independently before parting with your money.
Eeeek, good to hear about this and thanks for letting us know, this is good advice
Thanks for watching
I am not a Yorkshire man but a Welsh one I like the silliness I could not stop laughing I think people today don’t realise good old fashion humour that does not need to be clever but just silly I would love to spend and evening with you two make me cry laughing good on you take life to serious become a stone well done great attitude you have love it
Thanks for watching our silly videos! We love to make them and can’t help the one liners! They just come out!!

Hi. Glad you enjoy. Great phrase 🤣🤣🤣
He he he you drank the flower water ooops , any way very informative video Thankyou

Why is your wife constantly getting up and messing around ruined video why can't she just sit still or not join in
I kept telling her but unfortunately she just won’t listen.
Hi Harry. Thanks for watching
A year! Yikes! Claire can’t cope with St Chris for another year!!! 😂 😂
Have a fab week
Yet another great vlog, it was like two story lines running simultaneously (it’s great trying to work out where it’s going) you both always make me laugh, although this week the comments (claire) made me fall off me chair 😂🤣😂, please don’t change the great format.
Hi. How are you
Glad you enjoyed and that we make you laugh!
Hi was it the NEC show?
Look towards The Motorhome Man a fellow You Tuber. We went to him explained we weren’t in a position to buy but we’re researching he spent an hour with us telling us what to look out for good and bad. We ended up with an Apache 634 high line as I’m 6,3 and the rear lounge coverts to a super king in 2 mins. Good luck and thanks for the laughs it’s refreshing 👍
Hi. Andy is tall so we are looking for a van he can easily stand and sleep in!!
Thanks for watching and commenting
Have a great week
Brilliant vid, cheers.
Hi 👋 thank you
You deleted my previous comment, I don't know why but he has a Rollerteam 696 and 794 left
Hello. Deleted? Oh no? I don’t think we did?! Eek.
Mine got deleted as well, guess you're not Hymer fans ? lol@@Stchristopherofatlantis
Hi. This sounds mega mega exciting. Do you live in your van now? 🚐
Nottingham isn’t too far from us so this is a great shout. Thank you so much 😀😀
Yes we live full time in our 2011 Pergeot Autosleeper, it’s small but has everything we need. We’re retired now so the open road is our future ✌️
This sounds FABULOUS.
Hope to bump into you
What a bizarre channel, please do keep taking the piss out of all these awful dealers. Oaktree have a very good reputation indeed. I’m sure you could do worse than to give them a call?
Hi, Thanks for watching us. We aim to keep doing that 🚐 😂
Have a great week and we hope you keep watching
Andrew and Claire and the dog buy a car and a caravan stuff the gas guzzling motorhomes that you have to put everything away to go for a drive and find somewhere to park the truck
Hi. Good point 🚐
Appreciate the reply, many thanks. looking forward to watching more of your vids.@@Stchristopherofatlantis 😸
There is a place called oaktree or something they are supposed to be brilliant. They also fit extra solar next door if needed. That's where I'll go when I'm ready :)
Hello. Thanks for watching. A few people have mentioned oaktree so we will give them a shout
Have a great week
Good luck!
Hi. It’s crazy isn’t it!! We genuinely (naively) thought it would be easier.
Thank you for watching and commenting
Have a great week ☀️

Hi. We have a silly humour
Glad you found us!! 👍

Facebook market place that's were we go ours from Bradford.
Hi, Thanks for this 👍
Honestly sounds like it’s better to rent at this time because the automobile market is in a free fall right now and the RV market will be right behind that wait it out just my two cents
We have enjoyed renting, it’s been very easy.
Thank you for watching our video
Have a great week
Was quite interesting, but comedians you are not or useful.
But you Gerry are quite the guy.
They are like car dealers hard to find a honest one
😂😂👍👍
At last .. telling the truth 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
we drove a long way to look at a van described to us as immaculate - it was terrible....
👍👍
Interesting video - thank you.
Thanks for watching
I didn't like Rollerteam Motorhomes because of build quality. I bought my Swift Bessacarr Hi-Style 599 2018 ex demo & virtually brand new with 8,000miles . Absolutely Love it ❤
Hi, Thanks for watching. Ex demo sounds like a good shout.
Wishing you happy travels 🚐
Hi Tony,
Thank you for watching our video and taking the time to comment. You have some awesome advice here that we are appreciative of. It’s such a minefield! Will look at Motorhomefun, I think when buying something so expensive the research element is pivotal!!
We hope to bump into you on our travels 🚐
****44000. Miles is not high, mileage for a motorhome..****???
Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Trevor, Thank you for your very kind offer to do this for us 😍
We can’t wait to get ours, we find that motorhome owners wave at each other when they pass on the road and we love that!! 👋
Hope to see you on the road
Just the same here in America, full of liars and scammers
Such a shame
Thankyou so much for watching our video 👍
So sorry for you guys not only motor homes many can not spell honest godbless you both
Hi, thanks for watching
@@Stchristopherofatlantis love watching no b/s off you
I've a 2017 Autotrail Tribute as you mentioned.
Hi. Thanks for watching our video. Your van sounds awesome and good to hear no issues 👍👌We just love Scotland and can’t wait to return
Hi there. Thanks for watching our video. We wish you a merry Christmas
( van is a 2020 Elddis Accordo 105: less than 6m)
Cheers
Russ
Hi Russ. Your van sounds awesome, we hope to bump into you on the road 🚐
Sounds great. We will look at this

Should have read Motorhome Man 😂
I can see a few people are recommending Oak Tree Motorhomes, I had solar, inverter and lithium installed by them and had great service. Open 7 days and all vans are open for you to look round.
Hi. Thanks, we will check them out 😁😁
Lots of ex hire vans being sold as privately owned
Hi, Thanks for watching
If you think the pre-sales service levels are appalling, just wait till you may have to get something fixed. We bought from a large dealer in the South West. All they worry about is the glory days of the 1950’s where customer service wasn’t really a thing. For all that money, you expect a little more.
Hi. It’s big cash so we definitely expect good service and it does put us off if the initial engagement isn’t great.
Thank you for watching our video and have a great week
We have a 2014 Bessacarr 496 from motor home depot and it’s perfect. The sale was faultless and the van has been amazing.
Hi. Your van sounds brilliant. It makes such a difference to get good sales service. Hope to bump into you in your travels 🚐
Try minibus ,toyota coaster are bullet proof
We went for a Benimar!
Making beer!!! We are on our way 😂😂😂
@Stchristopherofatlantis our doors are open, hah
Did I spy Andy drinking from the glass you put a flower in claire 😆....
Nice prop at the end too 👌
Aside all that, good luck with your search for a bigger home on the road. It's great that you're sharing your experiences albeit it not being a positive run so far. If it saves others from falling fowl, you'll gain some knowledge at least, your journeys not been entirely in vain.... The right one will come along for you both and you can continue to make many more happy memories together.
Ive got my Fingers crossed for you.🤞
Hi Nina. How’s your week?
We can’t wait to get our van 🚐
Thanks for continuing to watch out videos x
Yes you did Nina, though i'd say it was a "planned skit" by both parties. Just a thought.
Great Vlog. I know you can’t really name the dealership that you visited with the monstrosity, but hows about naming the town it’s in?
Hi. Thanks for watching 😁
It was in Hull!! 🚐
Autotrail the older ones ie 2012 built solidly unlike the newer one.
2 weeks of looking lol, give it a few months or a year....
👍😂😂
Hi. Thank you so much for watching our video. It is important to us to be Euro6 compliant.
We wish you a lovely week
🤣
hi
Something about 'Manners maketh man-------------
Good luck with your search.
Hi Andrew, we found a Benimar that we love ❤️ Thank you for watching our video and we wish you happy travels 🚐
Good luck!
Hi. Thanks for watching our video and a big thank you for commenting
We have seen the Motorhome man so this is good to know. We think service is really important so will check him out
Thank you and have a great week
You guys are hilarious. Why are people in the motorhome market such silly bunts? bare faced liars would be accurate. The woman who had all the details about the curtains sounded interesting. Did you try to bribe any of them with cake? I would have purchased that first one, if he had thrown in a waitress for the first 10,000 miles. Few good ideas there. I hope you do find something spectacular guys.
Hi. Thank you so much for watching!
Yeah we definitely have met some who were very very economical with the truth, it’s such a pain.
Cake!! GREAT IDEA 💡 😂 😂
Have a great week. I’m off to buy a Battenberg
😂
😂😂
Hi. Yeah us too.. there is no need to be rude, it’s just silly (we think!)
Your van sounds awesome, we hope to bump into you on your travels 🚐 have a great day
Nigel from SMC gets our vote!! Excellent guy .
Try Claire from Dom Amott Motorhomes. Haven't been there myself but watch heaps of her videos. She is the best!! Good Luck!! ❤ Love from Scotland, X.
Hello lovely beautiful Scotland
Thank you so much
Hope you guys are well
Auto Salesmen do themselves no favours. If they want to shake off their untrustworthy reputation they need to get their act together.
We think so too!!! Thanks for watching
👍
Dealers dont do deals as Motorhomes are so sought after nowadays. That said, they hold there price if not exceed when sold but mine is for life 😁 Just looking for, The perfect lovely lady to join the fun with me 🤣😅😁🎵🎶🕺❤️
Morning, how are you?
Thanks for watching our video. The Motorhome in your picture is a posh one! Looks fab
Have a great week
Hi. Love these recommendations thank you very much. We hope to bump into you on the road 🚐
Have a great week 👍
I'm in the trade, run a branch of Highbridge. If you're up north try my friend Ben at Emm Bee Bury or Todd's or Campbells or Motorlands in Preston all good.
Sounds like that was a nail of an ex rental, a lot of rental vans get hammered for 3 years.
T line are decent vans, Benimar Mileo 202, Chausson 530 are other good 6m dropdowns.
Higher quality options at ethe rapido 600 and 700ff, Adria Matrix 590, Burstner 585 or 595, older buy higher quality
@Nagsheadwarrior Hi. Thanks very much for this, really good advice 👍
Enjoyed hearing about your experiences but all that faffing about with the kitchen cupboards....
All that messing around made good content awful viewing. You aren't the RUclipsrs for me - thanks but no thanks
Hi. Thanks for watching 👍
Second hand RV’s generally overpriced and old and come with the same problems as us, they wear out, compare them to a 10 year old car which has a design life of 5-7 years, electric battery’s 3-4 years.
The market is driven by driven by older people with money.
Hi. Yes agree. We thank you for watching our video
Merry Christmas to you
🤣i took ages finding and so many lemons 😅 i ended up buying from motorhome depo.
Hi. Thanks for watching our video
Crikey, this was a terrible experience for you. Do you still have the van? We are really sorry to hear this but (hate to say it) not too surprised
We wish you and your son very many happy future travels 🚐 ☀️
We've a 26 year old Autosleeper on Peugeot cab 63,000 miles and we love it, I have experience at work with Ford Transits 2017 -2020 with serious issues to cylinder head and injectors, please stick with Citroen- Fiat- Peugeot for reliability, love the videos, wondered what Claire was up to with those Tupperware boxes 😂😂😂 good luck with the search.
Hi Graham. Glad you like the vid. Your van sounds ace. We hope to bump into your on our travels
Enjoy your week
We quickly knocked the idea of getting a motorhome on the head when we saw the tacky overpriced crap the dealers were selling - even those priced at £40,000 and above. Get a caravan. More room and luxury for less money, plus you have the freedom and flexibility of having your tow vehicle without having to pack away every time you want to go somewhere.
Hi. Thanks for watching. Claire here and I just love caravans!
We hope you have a fab week ☀️
I spent a month, welding up a camper during lockdown...
Not for me.
It was an elderly couple, who bought the van to take their grand kids on trips.
Normally i will not touch them.
Most campers are built on the cheapest van chassis..
It, apparently needed, two small plates welded in the wheel arches....
Hundreds of photos later, explanation every day, why...and to what iwas doing...
Normally i would have said NO! ITS SCRAP, but i know they had been scammed out of 23k
A month to make it safe...and really road worthy...
Hi, How are you?
Thanks for watching our videos, glad you found it entertaining (esp. the facial expressions 🤪, I can’t resist them!) have a fab week
My brother hired one for a holiday it was so much red tape. He lucky has own home. That's why go five star inclusive. What about your safety? Some sold home and brought a van, personality buy van if want but don't sell home maybe rent it or use van for trips or working away
Hi, thanks for watching our video. 👍👋
We bought a Rollerteam 590 privately and we are very happy with it, it’s a lovely motorhome.
Don’t avoid private sales, not everyone is dodgy. Good luck in your search. We love watching your videos.
We just loved loved the rollerteam we hired, it was fabulous
We wish you happy travels and hope to bump into you
Our 590 is an 18 reg apparently 17& 18 reg were fitted with cheap decals some of ours are badly faded but have found a local business who will replace all of the decals with quality vinyl for £560 which I thought was pretty good.
Hi. We agree with you that layout is important 🚐
A few people have told us about oaktree and all very positive! Word of mouth is a great advert 😁
Thank you very much for watching our video
I feel for you both and wish for you to get some good luck
Thank you very much 😊😁
That lunch reveal made me genuinely laugh out loud 😂 seriously though, I used Motorhome Depot and I found the salesman to be open and above board. He pointed out the outstanding issues and didn't hide a thing. Ok, it wasn't perfect but it was decent for the price I was prepared to pay.
Poor Andy… that lunch looked better than normal 😂😂😂😂
bought mine privately after long searching. you never get what you want it is always a compromise this one ticked all the box's but i'll stick with it and change interior elements as opposed to change the vehicle. thats motorhomes.
Hi. Thanks for watching
Happy travels 🚐
You 2 are such rogues!!! On the serious front though unfortunately the world is so full of bxxxshxxxxers; and salesmanship and customer service has gone out of the window. Also think more and more people are escaping tv and computers and getting out either via campervans or canal boats so van sellers can demand top whack!
Hi Sandra. Thanks so much for watching us! We hope loveable rogues 🤣🤣🤣
Wishing you a great week
Hi Guys
Two recommendations
Lincolnshire leisure, Lincoln, privately owned, lovely people, trusted
Glossops, north Derbyshire, same
Both gave outstanding service and a deal!
Hi Graham. Thanks so much for watching and for these recommendations. Wishing you a fab week ☀️
I'm sure as a fellow RUclipsr he’d be helpful if you contacted him, and it would make good content for a video for both of you if you could meet up
Hi. We are delighted you have subscribed to us and thank you so much for watching!
This is great info and will look. We wish you a fantastic week 🚐
Hello. Thanks for this and a big thank you for watching our video
We went for a Benimar Mileo and the interior works well for us and the dogs.
Hello fellow Yorkshire folks 😀 we are so glad you found us and welcome to our channel 👍
Thanks for watching and we wish you a great evening
Jason Manford 😂😂😂😎
Vultures are waiting for retirement money in every industry Andy, kitchens, roofing, loft insulation you name it, everyone wants you to put the entirety of your pension into theirs. Love the show
Hi. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy 👍 Happy Sunday
However, when you get it, it will be incredible 😍👍🚐
Thank you for watching
After working in the motorhome industry and for one mentioned in the comments as great salesmen, let me tell you most are sharks, we fitted white plastic shower board in lockers to hide damp filled plenty of floors with resin and over boarded cupboards to hide damp patches to mention just a few.
My advice when buying a used motorhome is go to the bigger dealers they pass the rubbish onto the smaller dealers on a patch's of gravel who just knob them up minimum outlay maximum profit...
Hi. Thanks for watching and your honesty. Crikey, that is dodgy 🤪🤣
Would recommend Marquis 🚐
Have a great afternoon
Your best getting the AA to check it before buying they will check vehicle's if you buy a vw you wont go wrong ther well made and parts are very easy to get unlike others
Hi. Thanks for watching and a great idea
Spend the extra money and go for a German built van, something along the lines of Hymer, Carthago or Weisburg. The build quality is better and will last you longer.
Hi. This is great advice. Thank you for watching our video
Have a great week
Hugely inflated prices just now. They'll drop...
Hi, thanks for watching our video 🤞
Try oaktree campervans. Nottingham area. They do all types of vans. There very pop on RUclips. Keep up the search 👍👍👍

I got stung buying a fiat Ducato but my fault for being gullible , I want to get one to live in, now I can't take my NHS pension to do it ,it's a horrible life under the Tories everything is bent ,but there is fare people out there
Hi. Thanks ever so much for watching.
Hi. Thanks for watching and commenting. We can’t wait to find our dream van 🚐 keep posted and take care
It’s like watching a Duracell bunny get to the point for goodness sake!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think the whole industry is a con job, they're still looking daft money for a 1995 Talbot say, a big dealer here, Northern Ireland, was jailed on Thursday for 3 yrs for ripping his customers off to the tune of over 400 grand
Wow this is incredible. How terrible, I just know how he slept at night
Thank you so much for watching us and commenting
You two have been lured to the dark side (motorhomes). For the spirit of St Chris please consider a campervan. Good luck whichever path you go down.
Hi Chris, this made us smile. We love campervans 🚐
Hi most European motor homes are very similar buy the one you like.
I've had a lot of motor homes, American and European.
I would look at privately owned motor homes, you will save a lot buying private.
Hi. This is good advice.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting
Have a great week
and this is why dealerships are now apparently struggling and going under . serves them.right
😔
The prices now are going to go down so you both just wait a few months. Dont touch anything made here. Hymer or Adria . But do look at how those companies build there units. Thats if your going for new. Good hunting.
Hello. We are poised to buy! 🚐
Thanks for watching our video and have a great week ☀️
Got a 67 plate Hymer Euro6 without a adblue checked the government lez checker and no problem anywhere 😊
We love Hymers!
Thanks for watching and have a great week
Hi guys, think youve been misinformed about the Adria. We have a 2018 dethleffs euro 6 without ad blue and its clear on all the zones. I would double check the info, maybe you can buy the Adria. X
It’s all very convoluted isn’t it.
We will keep checking. Thank you so much for watching out vids. We wish you all a great week 👍
Oh guys 😞 gutted for you.
Spring loaded cupboards are the worst 😂
