So glad I have my old type licence. Our local (ish) dealer, leaves ALL the motorhomes unlocked and are happy to let us go into All of them. Obviously they are looking for a sale, but it's nice to be able to get in and check out all the differences between them all - even the ones we know we can't afford, lol!
Glad that St Christopher passed its hab check successfully. It’s fatal looking around the dealer’s vans. We’re caravanners and very happy with our van but can’t help looking around the new vans on display. You just need to start saving up now! 😆x
Regarding depreciation. You guys had the good sense not to buy new. I bought a new van in March this year for for £77,500. Current trade in value is around £55,000! Love the channel 😊
Hey Andy and Claire, really enjoyed this Vlog, as ever such a laugh a minute and what we’ve come to expect absolutely great content. Keep up the great work guys. I personally hope you guys get sponsored as you are worth every penny in my view. Keep em coming 🎉
Yes, everything you say after 18:00 seems to ring true as far as our experience goes. I think families will still be looking for multiple sleeping options, 4 and 6 berth but lots of people now only go away with their partner and island beds and single beds at the rear seem to be very popular. Rarer finds - ours is 6.49m and has an island king-sized bed - do keep their value. Ours is now new £75810. It is 3 years old. We paid £55,000 (as ex-demo) for it and they are now around £59,000 on Autotrader via dealers for the same age and mileage. So, I think, similarly, we haven't lost anything if we sold privately but if we part exchanged through a dealer we might only get £45k plus if we are lucky. Everyone's situation will be different but we are glad you weren't disappointed. Keep up the great, natural videos! (we don't get paid by RUclips!!! haha)

Hi again I bought our first motorhome 8 years ago after cashing in on our classic vws …anyhow I sold our motorhome last year to upgrade to a newer model with more space … I put it on motorhome depot and sold it to a dealer before it was advertised on motorhome depot website they send new sales to dealers first 👀 I sold it for £250 less than what I paid for it 8 years ago and I’d put 40,000 miles on it ….😊 I was proper happy 😃

We were in a similar position to yourselves thinking we needed 4 travel seats to restrain our dogs during travel. On the Fiat Ducato there is a bar under the seats that we use to restrain our 2 dogs using a restraint that is designed to go over the headrest. We’ve gone from 6m Motorhome with drop down bed to 7.5m with a fixed bed that we found too big for what we enjoy doing and now we have an Autotrail 6.3m panel van with rear lounge that suits us perfectly. Love your vlogs by the way can’t wait for the next one 👍

Very enjoyable but that `projector screen`? .. I assumed it to be a `blind` to keep out the street light or the lights on the campsites at night? .. I may be wrong so would be nice to know. I love Claire`s laugh and great to see the inside of these Motorhomes. You fill me with envy! X.
Hi Clare & Andrew, just subscribed after watching you're channel for a few months really enjoy what you post up , keep em coming Sue and Chris (Burstner Harmony Line 690g)
Hi guys great video as usual. Just an observation but for the price of a 70/80k motorhome, you can get a top of the range luxury caravan and a very nice car to tow it. Just saying. I do realise they're 2 entirely different things though.
Hiya ...I've got a techno 85 mobilvetta...the projector is a sun visor... Mines been reliable and very comfortable... There's nowt wrong with yours at end of day it's just somewhere to sleep! It's all about the journey and location and family...great vlogs
As with mobile home sales, i put campervan/motorhome sales companies in the same bracket. They will shaft you when and if you want to sell back to them.
interesting observation on depreciation. At some point in the future the vehicle will be scrap and worth very little. That cost will be borne by the owners, probably quite a lot by the first owner and the last owner but at what point is the big drop in between ?
Yep we had loads of issues with our Carthago to in fact we have had probs with most of our vans except our autocruise Augusta that was a cracking van, got fed up with coach built so downsized to a Dethleffs Globetrail camper a year ago and have never looked back.
Blizzard like here in our bit of France, dodgy looking at other vans while having a hab Check, that’s how we ended up with out Carthago chic to big to expensive and parts were telephone numbers 😂

Hi Guys, what a laff you guys have. Always nice to walk around the sales compound looking at what you cant really afford but dream of. Recently got a 2011 Swift Kon Tiki which through grandad rights I can drive. Its way to big for the 2 of us but 2 now = 3 since the new puppy joined our adventures. Have you tried the Grouse and Claret Caravan park , Rowsley near Matlock?? Ive never been but have family in the area so looking for a decent site to base myself for a few days next year. keep the vlogs coming guys 😁
Always click a like button very rarely share but that's every youtuber I follow only because don't know anyone else who motorhomes Not that keen on the vans you walked around far cheaper ones with better fixtures and fittings. Stick with what you have and spend the money on the vinyl decals and flooring You don't need a drop down screen watch it outside on the van
Chris Sloanes I’m sure you have heard of him has got a Mobilevetta. He recently bought it and done quite a few upgrades but has had quite a few problems with it.
Guys did you sort out the vinyl issue? I watched the whole video twice but can't see anything about the result. Love your comments on the M & S clothes😀
Yep if you buy carefully the depreciation is minimal depending on how long you keep and maintain - I’ve the same with my motorbikes some of my mtb’s (sold one earlier this year for 5x what I paid for it 20 years ago then again it was a unicorn) and our current caravan should in theory break even after 5-6 years which is when we’ll be probably looking at a motorhome option and it would have to be A class as long as I can get it reversed onto the drive
@@stewartkendall2635 I believe you have to apply at the right time before you're 70 for the medical or the C1 will be dropped from your license and you will have to take the theory and practical test to regain the C1
We love your channel and watch every vlog. More than happy to like, subscribe and comment if it helps.. not like it costs me anything and only takes a few seconds to add a comment. Some people are bah humbugs 😂
It's interesting to hear that you want to move away from a drop down bed to a fixed bed and we have an Elddis Encore 250 with fixed island bed and want to have a rear lounge and a drop down bed. For you, what are the negatives you had found with a drop down bed? For us we didn't appreciate that when we viewed the Moho tge island bed didn't have any bedding on and was pushed back which made it appear there was lots of room. In reality when the bed is fully extended with the bedding on there is little room to walk around the bed. We do love our van, But every van comes with a compromise but would really like an end lounge.
Hi. Yes we agree, every van comes with compromise. We want to be able to have a cuppa tea in bed more easily .. sounds silly really. The other thing is, it won’t drop down lower than our waist so is a bit of a jump up into it, we didn’t really take that into account 👍👍👍👍 have a good evening and thanks for watching
@@Stchristopherofatlantis Our caravan has a fixed bed, but to one side.. so whoever sleeps next to the window, has to climb over the missus, to go to the loo, in the night. An Island bed would be better but we'd still be climbing over each other, as there is never enough room to get by when it's occupied. compromises, compromises.!! Wife never compromises on her morning cuppa in bed though.😞
So many vans and yet they’re all built on Fiat Ducatos XD i had the same license as you but two im now a Type-1 diabetic so im stuck to 3.5 ton and bellow, it did effect what size van we got but not by a lot, on the plus side I’ve a damn fine hat to keep my head warm :3
We found you save money selling your old motor home yourself, The last two we sold privately we got more a less what we paid for them, always get habitations done yearly and look after your van and you should get back almost what you paid for it PS I DO SUFFER FROM OCD SO THAT HELPS 😂😂😂
M1is a total pain. I went down to Northampton twice this summer, from Northumberland. Tryd the A1 second time down, just as bad, bridge work. Not happy.
What's the reason for wanting a fixed rear bed ? We are now looking for a drop down bed van and now have us wondering if it's a bad idea. Why would you prefer the fixed?
Our bed drops down to about waist height (bit higher) and it does make it tricky to jump up and out of it. Sounds silly but we don’t consider that Thanks for watching
Arrr ok we are looking at one that the bed drops low so you dont need a ladder. Challenger 260 is one of them, then the chausson 640@@Stchristopherofatlantis
As things are at the moment, I don't think it wise to be swapping vehicles, unless you buy a used caravan as well as keep your Motorhome( happy wife, happy life ;-) ) . Even then maybe hang on to what you've got already. Great to hear yours is keeping it's value though. and it's not cost you anything for repairs etc. Pimp it up and get new decals, it will be like having a new van without all that extra expense. Just my opinion. Back in my younger days we had a little Monza 4 berth. for us and 't kids'. Luvved it to bits but ed to sell it as kids grew up and flew t' nest. Narr am retired wiv got moor time to enjoy it ageean, so went a bought a new 'van. We luv nippin off for trips art nar. we went to Yorkshire Caravans (Bawtry) for ours.
Guys do your homework before buying a Mobilvetta. I was looking to buy one as our first motorhome from Marquis and they do look very nice. However I am glad I didn't as many people have advised poor workmanship and build quality. As such we bought a German made van from Malibu.
Used Motor home prices are falling imo, plus new price increases are a result of higher production costs and inflation, so less value for money. We are on our 3rd MH. Number 1 and 2 lost no money (inflation aside) but the current vehicle is probably losing £7 k per year over the last 3 years, consider if you sell and don’t buy another it’s ok but if you sell and buy, the money to change has increased
Paid 33K for 6 year old van sold it 7 yaers later after putting another 30 000 miles on it for £36k Only problem is to get equiverlent spec 6 year old van is that I need £80K .
Very true. We bought a Malibu van in 2019 new for £56K now there £80K+ I am sure we would get £56K now for ours with 8K on the clock but the cost to swap would be over 20K for something that would look no different :-)
😱A main stealer has anything for 20 - 30% proft in a van... new or indeed used!! Therfore I would predict a much lower price from them to purchase your van without a PX 😢😏 On the other hand selling privately will narrow their insult considerably 👍🍾👍

Hi guys! You make me laugh 😂 love your channel!! I wish me liking and commenting meant you could purchase that A Class 😅 it might just get you another hot chocolate at Marquis 😂 Looking forward to seeing some seaside next time 😍 from the warmth of my armchair 😅 xx
Hello 👋 ❤️❤️👋👋
Very enjoyable but that `projector screen`? .. I assumed it to be a `blind` to keep out the street light or the lights on the campsites at night? .. I may be wrong so would be nice to know. I love Claire`s laugh and great to see the inside of these Motorhomes. You fill me with envy! X.
Hello. Andy was hoping it was a projector screen but it was definitely a sunblind 😂😂😂😂
Hi Clare & Andrew, just subscribed after watching you're channel for a few months really enjoy what you post up , keep em coming Sue and Chris (Burstner Harmony Line 690g)
Hello Sue and Chris 👍
Thanks for subscribing
It's like the crypton factor watching you try to work the coffee machine😂😂❤❤
Can’t beat the assault course, we always used to want to have a go 👍👍👍
Funny as normal but very useful info and perspective😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Don’t know if you’ve watched motorhoming adventures, they have a Mobilvetta. Another great blog.
Will take a look, thank you
Andrew/Claire, that was a sun-blind on the k-yacht, we have one in our a class Hymer. To be honest they’re crap and I never use it 😂😂
Andy is devastated to find this news out 😂😂😂😂😂
Hey, I've got a good setup with a projector and screen on the tailgate of me berlingo....less than a hundred quid😊
Sounds fab 👍👍
Hi guys great video as usual. Just an observation but for the price of a 70/80k motorhome, you can get a top of the range luxury caravan and a very nice car to tow it. Just saying. I do realise they're 2 entirely different things though.
Great idea… caravans rule!! 👍👍
Thanks for watching
@Stchristopherofatlantis I agree, but both have their pros and cons.
Ooo, don’t want to live the other side of pennines! Just over the Hoyland hill in Chap is far enough! 😂
😂😂😂😂 hello 👋
Awesome see ya adventures soon x x x ❤🎉😊
Hello 👋
Hiya ...I've got a techno 85 mobilvetta...the projector is a sun visor... Mines been reliable and very comfortable... There's nowt wrong with yours at end of day it's just somewhere to sleep! It's all about the journey and location and family...great vlogs
Hi. Andy is going to be so devastated when he finds out it’s not a projector 😂😂😂😂 happy and safe travels, hope to bump into you
Fantastic video again loved to see you driving out of Barnsley 😂😂😂
Gods country 😂😂
@ definitely 💯
Love the videos. No, it's not a tv screen, it's the sun visor.
😂😂👍
yer just like us, if ya cant stand up in it, why do they even make them? Keep speaking your mind. 👍
Agreed 😂😂 Thanks for watching our video
Hiya...less than half a mile from Marquis at Monks Bridge there are 3 food outlets maybe try them for breakfast next time 😊❤
Ooooh yes yes!!!
That’s right, we are happy with how it’s going so far… ! Thanks for watching and hope you are well
Subscribed. Just so I can fund your lifestyle.
Whooooopy doooo. Muchas thank yous 👍👍👍👍👍
50 mph on M1 doesn’t really bother us as we have a caravan ! Missed Pablo and Dora on this video, glad the hab check was ok. X
Hello 👋
Yep we had loads of issues with our Carthago to in fact we have had probs with most of our vans except our autocruise Augusta that was a cracking van, got fed up with coach built so downsized to a Dethleffs Globetrail camper a year ago and have never looked back.
Hi. How are you. Your latest van sounds great 🚐👍👍
Blizzard like here in our bit of France, dodgy looking at other vans while having a hab Check, that’s how we ended up with out Carthago chic to big to expensive and parts were telephone numbers 😂

Hello. Thanks for watching and live to hear that you laugh 😂😂😂 Your swift sounds fabulous, we hope to bump into you on the road one day 👍👍👍👍🚐
Always click a like button very rarely share but that's every youtuber I follow only because don't know anyone else who motorhomes
Not that keen on the vans you walked around far cheaper ones with better fixtures and fittings.
Stick with what you have and spend the money on the vinyl decals and flooring
You don't need a drop down screen watch it outside on the van
Hello 👍👍
Chris Sloanes I’m sure you have heard of him has got a Mobilevetta. He recently bought it and done quite a few upgrades but has had quite a few problems with it.
Hi Mick, how are you? 👋
We bloody luv your channel!! Could you sort that stretch of the M1 though please whilst we continue to fund your lifestyle 😮😮😮 (Unbelievable) 👍
We blummin love you watching our videos. Thankyou very very very and another very much 👍👍
Guys did you sort out the vinyl issue? I watched the whole video twice but can't see anything about the result. Love your comments on the M & S clothes😀
Hi. They didn’t mention it to us 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Andy’s new fave shop 😂😂
Yep if you buy carefully the depreciation is minimal depending on how long you keep and maintain - I’ve the same with my motorbikes some of my mtb’s (sold one earlier this year for 5x what I paid for it 20 years ago then again it was a unicorn) and our current caravan should in theory break even after 5-6 years which is when we’ll be probably looking at a motorhome option and it would have to be A class as long as I can get it reversed onto the drive
This is awesome, great news 👍👍
Thanks for watching
Did the rear view camera come with the camper or is it an aftermarket part?
It came with it…..
hi can you pls explain why you need a jab check and what it is please?
Hello. It’s like an MOT for motorhomes, it checks the gas is safe, no water ingress etc to ensure it’s safe.
Love them just worry about fuel changing and Mike's per gallon if planning to do a lit of travelling.
Hello 👋
It only costs £240 to get C1 added to your licence. If you’ve 80k to spend on a motorhome it’s a small cost
Hi. This is good to know, thanks for sharing 👍
@ it does involve a medical and theory and practical test. And lasts 5 years on your licence. Us old buggers are lucky!,
@@stewartkendall2635 I believe you have to apply at the right time before you're 70 for the medical or the C1 will be dropped from your license and you will have to take the theory and practical test to regain the C1
👍❤
❤️❤️
We love your channel and watch every vlog. More than happy to like, subscribe and comment if it helps.. not like it costs me anything and only takes a few seconds to add a comment. Some people are bah humbugs 😂
Hello Thankyooooooou 👍👍👍❤️
@@Stchristopherofatlantis in fact both hubby and I subscribe and watch on either of our accounts - his if we watch on TV x
👍👍👍👍
@Stchristopherofatlantis ahh yes, that's a prime consideration for us. Can you sit up in bed in a morning and have a brew. 🤔
… your warm and stylish Levi. 😎🔥
Drive safe. Hi to Julie 👋
@ she says hello, but she’s not quite as stylish ;)
We found you save money selling your old motor home yourself, The last two we sold privately we got more a less what we paid for them, always get habitations done yearly and look after your van and you should get back almost what you paid for it PS I DO SUFFER FROM OCD SO THAT HELPS 😂😂😂
Hi. Andy has OCD but I have absolutely zero, it’s non existent 😂😂😂 Hope you guys are well
M1is a total pain. I went down to Northampton twice this summer, from Northumberland. Tryd the A1 second time down, just as bad, bridge work. Not happy.
We agree 👍👍👍👍👍👍
What's the reason for wanting a fixed rear bed ? We are now looking for a drop down bed van and now have us wondering if it's a bad idea. Why would you prefer the fixed?
Our bed drops down to about waist height (bit higher) and it does make it tricky to jump up and out of it. Sounds silly but we don’t consider that
Thanks for watching
Arrr ok we are looking at one that the bed drops low so you dont need a ladder. Challenger 260 is one of them, then the chausson 640@@Stchristopherofatlantis
We have the Benimar c282 with the back lounge and two drop down beds. Back bed can come right down. Fixed bed is wasted space in my eyes.
Hi Chris. We had a look around Yorkshire caravans, great place.
Your opinion is greatly welcomed and thank you for helping us 👍👍❤️
oh it was like being out looking with you
Thanks for looking with us!!
THATS A LOT OF DOSH I THINK THE i would pass out at them prices but they are well nice
Big money!!
@@Stchristopherofatlantis far to much money i would wonder how much it would cost in fuel
If you liked the Mobilevetta have a look at the rollerteam pegaso 745 the same
Oooohhhh yes!
Guys do your homework before buying a Mobilvetta. I was looking to buy one as our first motorhome from Marquis and they do look very nice. However I am glad I didn't as many people have advised poor workmanship and build quality. As such we bought a German made van from Malibu.
R-××eo
Thanks for the tips! 👍👍👍👍
Was that a left hand shoulder check coming of the roundabout?🏍😉😂
😂 I can’t seem to get the motorhome to change gear with my left foot though
😂@@Stchristopherofatlantis
How much did it cost
£239
Chris Sloanes has reviewed his Kea elsewhere on RUclips.
Thanks 🤩
Used Motor home prices are falling imo, plus new price increases are a result of higher production costs and inflation, so less value for money.
We are on our 3rd MH. Number 1 and 2 lost no money (inflation aside) but the current vehicle is probably losing £7 k per year over the last 3 years, consider if you sell and don’t buy another it’s ok but if you sell and buy, the money to change has increased
Hello. Thanks does watching, this is great info. Hope to see you on the road 👍
Don't forget If you break it you buy it ...Claire
😂😂😂😂😎
Paid 33K for 6 year old van sold it 7 yaers later after putting another 30 000 miles on it for £36k Only problem is to get equiverlent spec 6 year old van is that I need £80K .
😂😂 hi. Yes this is what the Sales guy was telling us. Cracking sale price for you there 👍👍
There is a Benimar 202 for sale 21 plate £45,900 , 10,500 miles
Seems a good price!
The hab check cost
Was the damp OK where the lino was torn?
They didn’t mention it 😂😂😂
Yes but the cost to change is the true cost of Depreciation
Very true. We bought a Malibu van in 2019 new for £56K now there £80K+ I am sure we would get £56K now for ours with 8K on the clock but the cost to swap would be over 20K for something that would look no different :-)
👍👍
Hiya guys dont forget your not paying the price on the window you have got a part ex to do 😉😂🤣
👍👍👍
😂... 👍
Seatbelts just for decoration?
Hi, not sure what you mean but thanks for watching.
Seat belts for the two doggies as well, I think. Got to ensure Pablo and Dora are safe to travel too, (wink wink)
😱A main stealer has anything for 20 - 30% proft in a van... new or indeed used!! Therfore I would predict a much lower price from them to purchase your van without a PX 😢😏 On the other hand selling privately will narrow their insult considerably 👍🍾👍
Hello, thanks for watching. Have a great evening 👍👍👍
