    We flat tow our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Never a problem. It’s not electric. I agree a trailer is just one more problem. Where to park it, tires, inspection, tags, etc. Good luck picking another vehicle. I used a web site (can’t remember the name), to rule out the vehicles that had a speed restriction.

    Hey , on that actuator a k a landing gear. You need to find your pump and the valve that sends all the fluid to each actuator and give each fitting a little tightening with a wrench. With all the vibration from driving, they can loosen up and leak.It looks like you may have air in your system. Also one thing, I always do is take a can of WD40 and a good towel and spray down the shiny part of the actuator and clean them off before I retract my landing gear.

    Wouldn't adding a trailer be adding more potential for new problems...and you are looking for no problems, plus the added time and effort to load up?
    Don't most EV's have air ride suspension also? Just watched a CarWow video yesterday on the top 10 most reliable cars, and I think 3 of them had suspension issues too.

      Coincidentally, I have had the same issue with the same jack location (passenger rear) on our American Coach, a 2022 American Dream 42V. If the jacks are down for more than an overnight stop, the one jack takes longer to retract. Tapping lightly with a hammer speeds up the process. I'm going to also look into Maverick Welding's suggestion to use Caterpillar's hydraulic oil additive. Sticky seals make sense as I keep the jacks clean and wiped down.
      Separately, after much consternation, we decided to trailer tow versus flat towing. As you noted, the flat towing choices are becoming increasingly limited especially outside of the Stellantis/Jeep product line. We intend to purchase an Aviator or Explorer next year; current vehicle is an Expedition. With respect to trailer storage, it has yet to be an issue but then again, we stay at parks that have overflow parking or adequate site length. The trailer is a Legend 18 ft tilt car hauler with an upgraded 5200# tandem axle. It tracks beautifully and the only time I know it's behind the MC is going up a significant grade.

    • @fuelyourwander

    Re-watched...you use Roku cameras for outside video monitoring. Assume you use the Roku appliance for streaming as well? Are they interconnected? We were at the CA State Pismo Beach campground a couple of months ago...had our 2 Lectric bikes stolen, they were secured with a cable...might work for the casual thief, but worthless for the bolt cutter carrying determined burglar! Motion camera's may be an option?

    • @fuelyourwander
      @fuelyourwander  10 дней назад +1

      The Roku cameras are just another app in the Roku appliance. They work really well and I like that they are portable, so for example, I could set them near the bikes or anywhere outside depending on the campsite. They do have motion detection, but that requires a monthly subscription.

    • @fuelyourwander

      Exactly. If we had a trailer we could own any vehicle and just park it on the trailer. Most vehicles cannot be flat towed, so it limits your choice of vehicles.

    I'm looking at a couple of coaches, 1 with 450hp the other with 605hp. How is your 450 in the mountains. I know your not pulling anything right now but even a 3200# car would be noticable. What is your opinion please.

    • @fuelyourwander
      @fuelyourwander  12 дней назад

      We have the 605hp and one of the main reasons we bought our American Coach I is it came standard. When pulling our Jeep, it does great through the mountains. Had a stacker trailer before and it pulled that with no issues. If you’re looking at a 45’ Coach, highly recommend getting the 605. The 450 is not enough power in my opinion for that size vehicle

    I agree with both of you. There’s always something to fix or that has to be adjusted. I’ll make one suggestion to Chris. Wrap a rag around both your hoes when you reel it in and your 50 amp cord when you reel it in. The dirt and grime will build up inside the housing of the real assembly and one day. It will be one of those things you’ll have to fix. I would add Arizona to some of the worst roads in the nation. But most every state has some pretty bad roads. So much for our fuel tax maintaining the highways.
