We bought a used Fleetwood Bounder for retirement. It's a solid coach. We travel with 2 dogs. 1 1/2 baths, i take a lot of potty breaks😂! It handled Virginia and Pennsylvania great. A little nerve wracking up and down the mountains. My husband has done upgrades to suspension & shocks, big difference now. We live it! 35k great floorplan. Look at older well taken care of models. The inly thing negative is the upholstery peeling on many models. General RV provided new captain seats. I covered dinette seats with mini crib sheets, and thriw blanket in the couch. Natalie you did awesome driving!😊😊
I bought a DP (36 ft) from General in Tampa this spring. Drove it from Tampa to Ocala on the first day (never having driven one before!). I set off the lane departure a LOT in that couple of hours. But after that, got used to where the coach needed to be in the lane. I love driving it now. I really debated going with something smaller, but don't regret my choice at all now. Good luck with your decision!!
I know the first time I drove a large truck, it was intimidating. What I would do is split the lane in two and would keep myself on the left side of the lane until I got comfortable driving it. Seemed to help me.
Stan was right. I use my tow/haul mode at all times. I have a 07 Bounder(gas). It helps with pickup and slowing for a stop. I think y’all will enjoy and it won’t take no time to getting use to driving it. Can’t wait to see what you pick 😜😜
I’ve always thought that a Class C would be easier to drive, until now. Guess experiencing it for real in real time is an eye opener. I do have concerns though about the breaking issue. That would scare me cause in real world driving being able to rely on stopping can be very important.
Now, go find a diesel pusher that you like the floor plan. Your braking concerns will disappear. Then when you get over the 50+ mph area, your comfort level will increase, especially the amount of engine noise you have in a front engine gasser.. You won't be yelling in a conversation. Safe Travel-Have Fun.
I can never see myself getting a class A gasser ever. Being I like to drive mountain hwys, vs always the flat lands, I know gassers r cheaper but on every steep hill descend i thank god i got a diesel engine brake truck. Man that winni rattles eh! Lol 🍻
I believe the original reason you sold the travel trailer was to have enough funds to take care of your dog (Jacks(?)). How is your dog doing now? Have heard anything about him. Happy Camper shopping.
I do apologise, we put an update on FB and Instagram and completely forget to post on here, I have now added an update to our community page. Next weeks video we will also include an update in the video itself. Thankyou do much for checking in on him, we appreciate it!
RV tour!! I am very much looking forward to your adventures. I really enjoy your channel. Your Route 66 adventure by motorcycle is my favorite.
It seems that the ease of driving might make the case. And you like the floor plan.

Thankyou so much ❤️ yeah we had the peeling issue with our travel trailer and it drove us crazy. We are definitely looking at used models now.

Awesome! Yes I think whichever we decide we will get used to it. Which one did you go for?
Very nice rig. I think it may be perfect for you guys 😊

Thanks for sharing that information, we know everyone prefers us to get a diesel but we are just not sure one would be within budget for us.
Get what is comfortable to you, and fits your needs.

Keep in mind the class A does not have airbags. That’s why I bought a class C
Good point!
The big question is: What would you tow behind it? Because that will change how it feels to drive
Hopefully Natalies Ford explorer but there are mixed reviews on whether we can flat tow it.
@BrazenBrits
"Mixed reviews." Isn't it in the owner's manual?
