- Detangling your hair can be a hard task but I have cracked the mystery in this video "How To DETANGLE Your Type 4 Kinky Hair"! I have been natural for 5 years and for the first 3 years I broke off a lot of hair due to poor detangling. This go round I started using a shampoo brush and quickly realized this is what is going to make my natural hair journey, not break it!

I know this is very weird to say but, thank you for showing the back of your head while detangling your hair. I get frustrated when I see a tutorial but the person doesn't show how they style or comb the hair in the back because that is where I always have issues.

When I detangle my hair, I like to have it completely wet and put some Tresseme leave in conditioner with a bit of olive oil, and it makes it SUPER EASY to comb through. I have 4c hair and I think it's always best to detangle our hair when it's wet. when it comes to taming and detangling, water can be our best friend. :)

i am SO glad to see you sectioning all that hair, you had me shook in that video where you were trying all those product's that smelled like bubblegum and you were trying to detangke without working in sections through all that hair, I was thinking you probably had some dreads you did not know about 😭
:D SEE thats the cool thing about this brush. It keeps my hair detangled so when I take these braids out, I can just wash my hair and detangle without sectioning. However I do have to create sections if I take a protective style out and I sleep on it, or if I decided to rock a freeform style for to long.

You know what Chazz? People say they dont use combs to detangle- just finger detangle. Then they use a comb and show all the hair that has come out. But is it possible that more hair has come out cuz the finger detangling didn't get all of the hair out? I dont get all of the hair out if I finger detangle
+Dareese Hinds Well yea that's one of the things finger detanglers don't really investigate to much. You shed hair everyday, everyone does. When you use a comb it filters out all that hair and that's why it looks like you have hair coming out. People who finger detangle like to say that's hair the comb has broken off and that isn't always true. Especially if your using that detangler that I have. It's almost impossible to rip out hair using that. You can get some hair out finger detangling but I noticed not many people do. Thy don't seem to care but I do so that's why I like using a tool. It's just a preference.
I literally saw this tool in the store Friday and thought "that thing ain't gon do nothing but get stuck in my head" lol! But I my hair breaks so much when detangling, I'm willing to try anything. Thanks for the video!
Soooo... Finally picked up this detangling brush and the massage brush a bunch of others have sworn by... Shampooéd with the massage brush, added tons of cheap conditioner, let that sit for a bit, and then went in with this detangling brush... Heard a few pops towards the ends at first 😳, but then it started gliding through like butter. I think it took me 30 minutes total washing each section twice, preconditioning, detangling, and adding deep conditioner! Thank you!!!!

+Mame-Khoudia Dieye just start with simple things. Enjoy your big chop and don't EVER rush growth. Don't start buying a bunch of biotin, hair infinity, or trying to throw your hair up in a poof. Just let everything come naturally!

I hear you on detangling. When my hair grew out longer past my shoulders and to my back, it was hard to detangle. I talk a little about this in a video. It would take an hour to detangle. Then, I was not taking care of it properly because of the length and other circumstance. I talk about that in a RUclips video also. I have my hair cut short now and it is easier.

I was looking for something to use to detangle mainly my daughter's hair... It seemed no matter how I detangled her hair whether finger detangle, wide tooth, anything it seemed that a lot of hair was coming out no matter how gentle I thought I was. So I watched this video and I thought, I'd give it a try (even though I was a little skeptical). I tried it on my hair first and I had to admit, time wise it went so much faster and I was pleased with the detangle. So on my daughter's wash day I tried it.. OH MY GOODNESS!! Thank you so much.. First it went faster, her hair was detangled, it didn't hurt her and there was significantly less hair to come out (sadly I guess all this time I was pulling her hair out). And the brush was really, don't want to say cheap, but it was very... cheap... I actually went today and got another one just because... Again thank you for sharing!!!

I too have the kind of hair that none of these styling tools have worked on. finger detangling worked when my hair was much shorter, but even that seems to take to long and to much hair comes out. I bought a shampoo bush yesterday and it seems to do the trick.

i might have to try this brush. i have hair similar to yours. thick, course and dense so sometimes i can't even get the teeth of the wide tooth comb to even ENTER the naps lol
