In 1974 I was 14 and had worked all year after school and weekends to buy $900 bucks worth of Pioneer home stereo. My brother came home on leave from the Navy and put an LP from a group I'd never heard of on the platter and cranked it up, it was "Tres Hombres," 💥 mind blown! RIP Dusty 😢
With just one note Billy Gibbons blows my mind. One of the greatest bands on the planet. RIP Dusty, you’ll be missed by us all, but I’m glad that ZZ Top will keep rollin down the highway.
Frank is one of the best drummers in the world. The way he unites and cements ZZ Top music is simply a standard of perfection. He is one of the 3 drummers I know who play music, not beat rhythm. He's been - you do not need to hit a thousands beat a second to be the great musician.
We should all be grateful a band of this class and quality are still out there performing for us at the same level they always have done. They're in a different league to most.
I couldn't agree more, Stuart. I'm so glad Elwood has become their new bass player. Now they need to maybe cut back on RIP'ing Dusty, God rest his soul, and start giving Elwood equal space on the band's new promo posters. They won't take that important bold step forward until they do that.
I saw ZZ Top live once. It was on their Concrete and Steel tour. Extreme opened up for them. And to be honest, I only wanted to see Extreme. But I stayed and witnessed one of the best bands I have ever seen. They crushed it. Dusty will forever live through their music. RIP brother.
Damn .. Dusty's bass sound in this is so deep that it goes through the floor... right into basement where you keep all dusty secrets.. incredible recording again... I love RAW album big time 😎
Every time I see Billy Gibbons play I think of how Jimi Hendrix, when asked who his favorite guitar player was, said ‘this guy from Texas named Billy Gibbons.’
The first time l played "Rio Grande Mud" my Dad looked at the album cover and said "that's an awful lot of noise for just three guys". My brother and I just broke out laughing.
There's so many reasons why this video and the song itself are 100% badass! And the extra drag they put on this version just makes it groove that much more. R.I.P. Dusty, you will be sorely missed, but always celebrated! Thanks for 50+ years of amazing music and still going!
Three musicians at the very top of their game. This is what happens when you've been playing for more than 30 years. The drumming is out of this world - so solid and locked perfectly to the guitar riffs.

Jonah Tillman, Carry on child. You sound far beyond your young years in your appreciation. Wish more young people had dads like yours. Ling live Rock & Roll ✌️
SO SMOOTH ..I love how articulate Billy is.. he has this knack for picking out the best notes .The Bass and guitar were beautifully blended and this is a masterclass on playing slower but being so tight musically.
Love you guys since I was 10. Been listening to you for 47 years. Finally saw you the other night in Atlantic City, NJ. Great show. You still sound great. RIP Dusty Hill

Kick ass "live" version. The recorded version is soooo greasy and in the pocket. This is an amazing version....what 40 years after the original recording. This is amazing. I am always drawn to Billy G as I am a guitar player, however Dusty is KILLLING this song. He is the motor that makes this song go...
I'm 69....my buddy and I at 21 years ole, saw these ZZ cats on a HUGE live concert stage in 1975. Unreal show! No beards, no bull$hit.... *STILL THE SAME* ...😎 (RIP DH)
It’s hard to believe that I was cutting my rock n roll teeth on ZZ Top 50 years ago and have seen them live 2nd row 🤘🏼 but these old school ones make me remember all my teenage back roads, beer drinkers and hell raisers days! On Fandango & Deguelo 🤘🏼
I had the opportunity to have a dad that would play ZZ Top constantly in fact he and mom took me twice to see them 1st was Fandango and 2nd Deguello on Halloween both shows were epic and some of the loudest I have ever seen Thanks dad ! rip Billy
"I was rollin' down the road in my V8 Ford..." Ah, the memories of this song pumping through the 8 track player of my Mach 1 Mustang. Seventeen years old and on top of the world.
Such a fucking signature, unmistakable ZZTop sound. Like this is the true mark of a legendary musician or a band....when you listen to a song blindfolded you know who it is. And with this song.... you don't need to even watch the video to know right from the first bar of the beginning riff that its damn right its a ZZTOP song. This whole band was a legendary examplary model of less-is-more. RIP Dusty.....
Just listened to the whole album as it's amazing they still sound just like they did way back when these were recorded! Billy Gibbons is every guitar players guitar hero. I'm telling you those 70s albums are another breed of cool. Billy's tone and ability to have the finest touch or just rip your head off in his licks is second to none. He is one of my biggest influences and one bad motha.. Rest In Peace Dusty Hill.. one of the best voices in rock n roll and certainly top 10 bassists of all time ✌🖤🤘 🌹

Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard are the reigning elder statesmen of rock and roll!
Texas legends. RIP Dusty Hill. The Texas Blues tone is something very special.
Thanks of all Dusty. R.I.P
God Bless You, Dusty, you are deeply missed.
Was thinking the same thing
Speaking as a drummer, can I just say that Frank Beard is giving a masterclass here? Less is more, even with a big kit like that. Awesome.
As a drummer, Frank Beard is the King of Texas Shuffle. Badass!
Frank always has a great groove to his drumming
He’s great, very underrated
Just so solid! Not doing flashy crap for the sake of it. Just locking into "the pocket" and laying it down! So great!!!

Yeah, I love that bass part and how well it works with the guitar.
This sounds better than the original recording by a mile. Love them stripped down. Dusty’s tone is killer.
Dusty had just the right amount of grease in that tone, too!

Not too bad, for a Little 'ol Band outta Texas.👍🎸🎸🎶🎼🎵
RIP Dusty. A masterclass in efficiency - when few notes say more than a lot, when tightness brings more complexity, when music has a true soul.
Saw them 42 years ago ,,, one of the best live bands!
Jimi Hendrix said Billy Gibbons was his favorite guitarist.
Billy Gibbons is like fine wine. He just keeps getting better. He is so unique but so distinctly Texan.
También dijo que King Crimson era la mejor Banda de este mundo.
Jimi said that he like Billy not only because he was good but that he had the balls to play his (Jimi's) music at his his concerts. Lol! He's Bad!
Wow, that bass sound has a beautiful growl to it and what a badass bass run to finish the song 👏

Billy. He did this great. The hesitation in the guitar. Billy is the total guitar God.
