I really like this, and I had the honor of talking to Dustin's Mama one night, unexpectedly after hearing her last name, and mentioning her last name and the last name of one of my favorite singers were the same. :-) She told me, "You must be talking about my son, Dustin." An amazing woman...no wonder Dustin turned out so well...
Ive been going through tough times after a break up. After i heard this song I knew its all going to be ok. Oh the power of music.
One of Dustin's less known gems. "Consider the ravens" (Luke 12:24) tells us that if ravens fly free without burden or worry because God watches over them. Then why let fear and worry overcome us? Especially if are value to God is worth so much more. I think its a much needed reminder for us in 2020 that during these trying times God continues to watch over us and always will. But no matter what you believe in the words can simply be interpreted as saying we shouldn't allow ourselves to be ruled by fear. That we should allow our minds to be as free as birds. Or as 18th century philosopher Bertrand Russel put it “Fear is the main source of superstition, and one of the main sources of cruelty. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom.” Part of the reasons there is so much hate and division in the world right now is because of all the fear in the world. Fear of each others skin color, fear of our health, the future, the economy, money, jobs... this list goes on and on. But what good does all that fear and worry do for us and the world? Hopefully this song can be a reminder to not let our hearts and minds be chained by fear. Life is way too short.
