The Jenson was originally registered as 1LOG which is now on a 2 year old Mini! Thank you for another wonderful video can’t wait for the Porsche 914 to come up
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the Interceptor episode, Mike went to a specialist firm (Robey's) who still hold all the original production records. Apparently the car was originally under a different registration, something like "1 Log" IIRC.
Glad you enjoyed it. I do remember him getting build info. Plate is quite possible, but records of changes before DVLA went computerised in 1983 are either vague or non existent...
The reg is now on a Mini Countryman in the Princes Risborough area. I saw it just after a repeat of the WD episode and a few times since. Made me grin anyway.
Excellent video Trevor. This is probably as much of a result as you can get on the WD cars. I have mentioned before that in many cases far more work is done on the cars than appears on the shows, and of course in the final numbers tally. Paul Brackley says that they could never knowingly hand over a car that was in any way dangerous, and a lot of the work needed to make the cars fully roadworthy was not really an interesting view. I have been working on a BMW 840Ci for about 8 years now, it would be interesting to try and find out what happened to the WD one.
March 2022….. this car was going through a nut and bolt restoration costing upwards of £200,000. I know this as I know the bodywork/ sprayer that worked on it.
@@user-Snowy-65 a company called BodyBeautifulCars apprently had a interceptor in which they say was the Wheeler Dealer car. I have not been able to fully verify this but its a completely different colour. Gold colour
@@hurstinator Hi, I know the body work and sprayer of this car. It was done at Body Beautiful and was a colour change from the white to gold. In fact, the Ed China repair panel in the passenger side front footwell was still in place.
Your welcome buddy would stop for anyone if they need help and I managed to get to the spinning class just had to do the class in my work clothes hope the car is ok and you show some content on it if you don’t get rid of it like you said you might all the best 👍
Thanks again. Called AA, they hadn't arrived 10 minutes after due time (19.10!) so tried it again and it started and I got home. Think its an ignition issue so off to buy parts tomorrow
@@oscarsgarage447 Exactly, it was still missing when they were done. I would at least want that in the car if I was paying over £20k for a car like that especially since it seems to be made of Jacobs crackers by now. :) Even at the price WD sold it for back in the day. They quite significantly overstated the cost for reinstating it I suspect since it was some chrysler system that would be a dime a dozen in the states and assuming the hoses were custom it's not £900 to get them crimped.
@@jasoneldridge4738 Yeah that's true. But still don you think the 1000 mike claimed ot have been qouted sounds a little rich? I have seen that conversion get done somewhere (maybe wd) but I'm not really sure where. I think it was on a Merc.
Let me get this straight: the Jensen needs the bodywork fixing, so someone spent £18,000 improving the running gear. Could someone explain the logic to me, please?

Another cracking an very interesting video really enjoyed it again 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Jensen Interceptor has to be the coolest name and car combo ever

Jensen went through the restoration I should add.

Thanks for that. Keep subscribed... hopefully I will be able to tell you.
An Interceptor for£5,000?
Hold out your hand
Lol
Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Thanks for that, enjoyable again. I always thought that Interceptors were massively undervalued in the 90's/00's.
You and me both!

Interesting... would love to have a contact to find out more?
@@oscarsgarage447 I only saw the bodywork as rest was been worked on else where but was definitely the white Jensen from the show.

Great show as always👍👍👍

Thailand !! Super sleuth 🕵️♂️
Thanks!
Does the Jensen only have a 5-digit mileometer?
The reason I ask is that the mileage at the MoT in 2012 was 99595, but its 2013 MoT mileage was 1140.
I would imagine so, most cars up until the 1980s did as many never made it beyond 100k miles...

You will have to to a video on the ignition overhaul 👍
And glad you got home ok
Guess what I am doing today.... I am off Milverton direction for parts so you may want to avoid that area today! :-)
😂 ok thanks for the warning
Have you done an episode with the Porsche 914, that one that was bought back by the farmer.
Not yet, I am doing them in the order the programmes were first aired
The Interceptor lacked it's AC though so I think that would have put a dent in the value.
Good point, and due to the cost they decided not to replace it.

You would have to convert it to R134A refrigerant anyway,so some retrofitting required.

It not real profit because it doesn’t account for the labour
I know the Porsche 944 turbo they ruined is still being used as a track car.
Any contact details?

I checked a couple of cars MOT history and the year after the show, they failed with a long list of failures.
