Wheeler Dealers Where Are They Now? Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 & Classic Mini

- It's now over 20 years since the very first series of Wheeler Dealers was aired presented by Mike Brewer and Edd China, and we thought it was an opportune time to see if we could find out what happened to those early cars after they were sold.
In the Sixth Series, Mike & Edd had up to £5000 to buy and restore a classic car - remember cars and parts were a lot cheaper then....!
Originally WD was serialised in 30 minute episodes, with 2 per car, and these episodes of series 6 featured:
1975 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, Reg No ORC728P
1989 Classic Mini City, Reg No F402ORV

Tell me about it!!!!
I enjoy your videos…nice simple relaxing watch and informative. What about making a car history video on your own cars you’ve owned over the years?
I could, not sure it would be that interesting though!
Great news on Mini ❤️👍
Other than the hood wrap, that Mini looked beautiful. Very nice little car, and the interior was also very nicely made by WD.
The classic mini was seen alot at shows, it was very cheaply done and you could see the rust bubbling under the wrap
it was known the owner didn't really care for it and just abused it to death, surprised to hear its back on the road as I thought it would of been scrapped - good ending for once
As you say... a good ending!
If possible, I'd like to know what happened to the WD cars that Mike Brewer went to see, but rejected. Like the A-reg mini with that big oil leak.
Interesting, might have a look...
Excellent video 🚗🚙🚘👏👍👍👏👏👏👏
Great video. Someone may pay £17.5K for that mini, but I certainly wouldn't! It's good to know that the Ferrari lives to see another day, the actual 308GTB or maybe GTS are my favourite Ferraris of all time.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the video as I always do, but have you been on the line again?? 🤔 🍷🍷
I assume you mean wine... yes, but not when recording this video. It was merely my lack of presentation skills 😂
Regarding the Wheeler Dealer calculations - the show has creative licence to publish whatever figures they want to in order to make the car look like a viable business transaction. I know this because another car that Ed worked on was shipped out to my pal who is a specialist in a particular model. He carried out a fair amount of work on the car including rectifying some of Ed's work, and issued them with a several-thousands pound invoice. The invoice was not included in the final numbers calc at the end of the show. If it had been, they would have been wearing ££££ loss 😕
So all this is pretty much a nonsense really, as the show is full of mistruths regarding costs, work done, & genuine buyers.
All for TV & no actual facts, in what is meant to be a factual program.
@@stevesas632 It would appear to be, yes.
@steve Like about 90% of television. Fake rubbish.
@@stevesas632what did you expect from a fast talking Car Salesmen.
Mini still for sale in Norwich no longer has the bucket seats it back to standard
Would be good to know what happened to the Rover SD1 ‘Liver Run’.
I did have a bit on that, but understand the car wasn't the original (camera car)
Mini mileage on the MOT was all over the place
It did seem to get stuck at 19,999 miles. Remember they fitted a retro dash binacle to it.
I really like that poster of the Rizla Suzuki excellent but the minis still on the road and so is the Ferrari that's good and the Mini is for sale
There is a story that could be told one day of my involvement with Rizla Suzuki, not sure its that interesting...
@@oscarsgarage447 I would like to here it one day also l met Chris Vermulon and l am Suzuki mad l owned a couple of Suzuki motorcycles and today we own a Suzuki Baleno l do like there cars also
Just doing a little digging on the 308gtb4. More specificaly on production numbers as being orignally in Blue and RHD must be quite a uncommon combination. The only detail i have found out so far is 547 orignally came to the UK (according to The Maranello Conc. Archive on Ferrari Chat)
it wasn't a 308GTB4 it was a 308GT4.
@@ianmontgomery7534 thank you, i managed to find the Dino GT4 registry. From what i can see for the year 1975 there is only two cars that match the description of a Blue GT4. If Oscar knows the last 5 digits. He can cross reference it with the Dino GT4 registry. There is no extra information on the two cars mentioned
@@hurstinatorDid you notice that the paperwork showed it as a 308GTB? An error that shouldn't have been made.
@@ianmontgomery7534 i did, hence why i redid my research after a break
Last 4 digits are 9402
Also the mini city wasn't the base model, the mini city E was the base model, proper poverty spec with one door mirror
E for Economy I guess?
Bit confused with the 308. Cars over 40 years old don’t need a MOT or VED providing it’s been reclassified as a Historic Vehicle on the log book. I’d be surprised if it hasn’t after all who wants to pay VED if you don’t have to? 🤷♂️
Some people put cars through MoT before sale to evidence tbeir condition.
@@oscarsgarage447 yep, I get that. I know people who own classic cars and get them mot’d for peace of mind to make sure they are road worthy. But why pay VED when you don’t need to? 🤷♂️
Might be as simple as the person who owns it is not aware of the 40 year rule?
@@stephenbland7461 , the VED still needs to be "paid", but the payment is zero.
a dark subject i know but what can you find out about f434 npe its claimed to be back on the road but i cannot see that it would have been scraped like the lotus carton theres alot of bs out there cool vid ...thx si.b
I've had a bit of a look, not sure about digging too far...
The one for sale cannot be the real one i was interested in your thoughts.
£17+K?? Must be something in Anglian water!
how good are the old mini's compared to the giant mini's bmw now makes
this mini was sold on e bay in the last month
I thought I included that?
@@oscarsgarage447 my bad i was doing work and trying to listen to the video at the same time did not get all the way through the video so did not see that bit ,they put it on buy now and the bid site part of e bay .
That's overpriced compared with a Clubman 1275 GT, which I'd rather have.
