I bought a new 4 spd. custom deluxe in 76, own a 86 now , had a 78, have known by 48 years of driving and depending on them, hunting in snow, cutting fire wood, logging posts, driving Montana roads in all weather, a 4 speed with hubs is tough as nails.
Had a '86 K10 Silverado 4x4. Nevada gold and Doeskin tan tutone. Purchased in '85 when I got out of boot camp. My paychecks went into customizing and lifting it. Man, I miss that truck, especially now with how hard the square bodies are to find in any decent shape. Thank you for sharing!
These were they days for those of us that love vehicles, their design followed function , they were trucks , engineered to do what trucks are built for , soiled axles, full frame, manual transmissions, bench seats .Modern trucks are so large , expensive, not practical with extremely complex electrical/computer system, majourity will not see 300000 miles , To expensive to repair from headlights to tailgates. 10 speed transmission, turbos water pumps that run through timing chain.
Used to have an 83 GMC K1500 with the 350 and 4 speed manual until late last year. It was unstoppable on any terrain and definitely a looker. Sold it to a friend from college who also owns a 1985 K10 with the 6.2 Diesel and 4 spd
I remember my grandpa bought a 87 chevy brand new. 2 tone brown and white 2wd. It rode and drove really good but power sucked lol. I guess the engine barely had 200hp new and then it had a high gear ratio. So it didn’t feel very powerful but it did cruise well once up to speed My dad bought a 88 s10 brand new. I still have it 👍. It’s bright red and looks brand new again. Still has original 2.5 iron duke engine and 5 speed transmission
I got an 86 ford, same thing, drives and rides really well but power sucks only 190 horse from a 5 liter lol. 70s and 80s V8s were sad. But still a great truck! Definitely think ford/Chevy made much higher quality products back then.
I miss the original Unsolved Mysteries although it would scare the crap out of me at times. The new Unsolved Mysteries released on Netflix are nothing to write home about
The owner of the boat shop I worked at bought 2 new '86 C20's, 305, 4 speed. Paid 22K for the PAIR. Biggest piles of crap I have ever driven. One, with a mere 275 miles on it left me stranded on a boat ramp when the ignition module died. PILES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were ok, but I'm a Ford guy. I waited till the 87's came out and bought a F150 in Dec. 86. Pretty basic, I was working for minimum wage then, it stickered for $9995.
I thought the bad ones were the 5.7 which were never available on the full size trucks ... As a matter of fact the friend I sold my K1500 to, also owns a 1985 K10 with the 6.2 Diesel. He bought it used, though. It may be on its 3rd rebuilt or so, LOL
I daily a 74 k10. More reliable than my ‘06 2500 and ‘17 1500. Sure it requires a little more love and maintenance, but dead reliable. Not the most comfortable thing to drive but for my 20some mile commute I don’t mind. I value smiles per gallon, not miles ✌️
I love this Chevy Trucks, 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988 is my favorite. Best trucks and excellent quality and durables

I love the GM trucks of the 80s and 90s! They dont make em like they use too :(
For sure
You ain't lying
Yeah I do to but the 1999/2007 are good though
Me too. GM trucks is best trucks
they are made way better today..far more capable
Like how the square body lasted well into the early 90s 1973-1991

"Aerodynamic"
That made me laugh too! As he points to the brick....
Yes the 80s when square was considered aerodynamic. Still like the 80s trucks
The year I graduated high school, love the looks of the Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban as the sister truck the GMC Sierra & Suburban.
That El Camino is oh so sweet
0:49 LOL! Arrow dynamic styling but I sure love the look of the square body Chevrolet trucks.
It’s aerodynamic, moron.
@@Rountree1985 You the maroon not us
My grandfathers 86 S10 still drives Great
Thank Isuzu for that.

I love all chevy classic trucks specially the s10 " if take care of them they run foreveeeer,
To think all those vehicles sitting there are worth 4 times what they were then if they are in nice shape.
I'd love a c10 silverado now.
Guess that settles the el Camino debate
i had a 1986 gmc S15 jimmy with 2.8 litre engine as my first vehicle
I miss the 1st Gen S-10 lineup.

AWESOME Gm and all don't make em like this no more
Those rigs are still more reliable than any new Chevy on the road or on a dealership lot today, lol!
1:56 My chevrolet 😍😍😍
Yes! The most beautiful!
Same here
Who is the actor / spokesperson in these commercials?
S10 is still a popular truck xD.
"Sport van" lmao that was always the van you saw the bad guys driving in the movies or the van people were abducted in on Unsolved Mysteries.
I miss the original Unsolved Mysteries although it would scare the crap out of me at times. The new Unsolved Mysteries released on Netflix are nothing to write home about
I’m your 199th subscriber
I own a 1987 c10 Chevy ZLK
I have 86 silverado
Amaizing bro 🇸🇦
Chevy, dodge and ford don't even offer a 2 door short box anymore, pretty sad.
Yes they do both gm and ford
''LIKE ROCK'' ... Im chevy Fan ,, great vehicles in all .. but from 2004 to here ?????
i like old school vehicles ..
What happened to the intro for the S-10 Blazer and the Chevy Astro?
ORO EN POLVO!
"Tows 7000 pounds over curb" lol
All they need is a carb that isn't gay a set of headers intake and you can drive them. Smogger engines need air/fuel. 85c30 chirps 3rd . GM#1.

Those c 20’s now are worth and selling for $ 22k + for just one. You must be a ford or mopar fan boy.
I have had that happen to my 82 c10. One of the few flaws of the HEI, especially with an older unit. Otherwise it's solid.
What are you doing step van?
I had a step van…I never knew my real van.
They were ok, but I'm a Ford guy. I waited till the 87's came out and bought a F150 in Dec. 86. Pretty basic, I was working for minimum wage then, it stickered for $9995.
اللهم صل وسلم وبارك على عبدك ورسولك محمدﷺ
Who is this salesman?
Half ton full size pickup trucks are better man I hate the s10 I prefer the C10 Trucks instead aka Squarebody.
Those 6.2L diesels were some of the worst engines ever made.
They were definitely junk
I thought the bad ones were the 5.7 which were never available on the full size trucks ...
As a matter of fact the friend I sold my K1500 to, also owns a 1985 K10 with the 6.2 Diesel. He bought it used, though. It may be on its 3rd rebuilt or so, LOL
That and the 6.5 was anemic on power compared to the succeeding 6.6 Duramax lb7 and power stroke 7.3 and Cummins 5.9 both 12/24 valves
Notice the commercials weren't a bunch of woke garbage
The background music is so Sooo annoying
El Camino... =POS
The only decent GM truck in the last 50 years was the LUV, and Isuzu had to build it for them!
Boy are you wrong!
The Luv was arguably the worst, had many squares and they held up amazing

I got a 86 c20 would not trade that truck for anything
The k models are the best
