The players need to trust their training. It's as if they spend the first 45mins trying to execute the tactics perfectly & forget the basics. Then when they go behind, they start playing with passion and realise the tactics are already subconsciously there.
I actually mentioned the other week to a friend that it felt like United are training on the pitch sometimes. To be fair to them, this is still a brand new system that they're playing so it will take a lot more time for them to get it right.
Zirkzee looking confident is either a fascinating piece of man management by Amorim or Zirkzee is just that naturally confident that none of what happened 2 weeks ago really impacted him beyond the few days after. Antony fascinates me. There is a player there. He does things that make sense. He grafts. But he's always good for two or three bonehead moments (backpost tonight) that will see him off to another club next summer. This is firmly the "bodies in spaces" era of United. It's, at any point, maybe 4 or 5 guys that will likely be around for the next 2+ years and the rest will be offloaded rather quickly. But those bodies and the spaces they're occupying are pretty interesting because I can't exactly tell who is supposed to be where some of the time.
I'm probably the only supporter of Antony left, but he was abysmal today. Even for Amad's 3rd he was nowhere near pressing his man. His passing was poor, decision-making too slow & he made a clearance instead of scoring. I just hope he was rusty from playing so little.
@@Cold_Logic I don't disagree, but Amad just seems to get a bit more space when Antony is there. Maybe I'm imagining things! I appreciate Antony's attitude though, no sulking or anything like that.
@@Cold_Logici have been saying this to my dad, antony is fucking shocking i wont disagree, but he is also an amazing player. For some reason he is constantly doing both instead of just being class. His finishing was shocking, his runs, timing, and movement was amazing.
Why does a Liverpool supporter understand this more than a United supporter...Amad had a brilliant game only after the 70th minute. till then he was struggling, even garna was better. He should have had 3 assists... Amad's perseverance and quality was what rewarded him at the end. But the narrative cannot be that he was the savior of this united team. People have to give credit to the likes of onana who kept us in the game, collyer who did a good job after ugarte was taken off, etc. We've gotta stop glazing amad like this.. Cuz the moment he has a bad run of games, the fall is gonna be harder. We're seeing this with garnacho at the moment. people forget this is second full season, but the reason it feels like he's been around for a long time is that people have been praising him every single game when played well. Now he seems to be struggling with the system and now the naarrtaive is he's got be sold ahead of casemiro and eriksen for the money. RIDICULOUS!!
10 is his position, but we don't have wingbacks, at all. This is why we look so dead in terms of attacking threat. Because usually our defenders are stepping in as wingbacks, which means they aren't dangerous Infront. Amad is the only one who can do the job decently, because of his work rate. He still is dangerous in the front and at least helps out in the back what can't be said about certain other wingers who need to be moved on
loz knows ball. this is what a lot of the more unpopular United youtubers have been saying, rants n bants, nourudeen mr structure, etc. but the rest of the fanbase doesn't see it. a liverpool fan sees the value of zirkzee and how he unlocks the players around hin
Loz you may/may not remember but I wrote an entire essay a month ago on one of your videos, I gave you a full breakdown of why this club is in such a shambles but also why we have hope. The main reason for my hope was players like Amad, Zirkzee etc and now Amorim is even introducing likes of Toby Collyer into the squad. They are rough diamonds in the mud who need coaching and and more importantly, they need the right mentality Amorim instills from the dugout. I can say my faith has been reinforced by this coach. He is a real winner .
Love the ending advice a mentality I've adopted for years now you can't let the team get you rattled in life I see it as dark phase in my favourite TV series football
appreciate your, what I would describe as a, distrust of the media narratives that pollute football discourse 👍 as odd as they seemed the substitutions were crucial in United getting back into the game and well done Amorim for that. Bruno got deeper and more on the ball, Zirkzee’s erratic positioning created space where it needed to be and Antony and Amad along the right interchanged Wingback and 10 at times which was **shocking I know** the type of pass-and-move approach that is so basic and yet so effective to help win games. while a 12 minute hattrick is certainly fortuitous the comeback was on for at least 35 minutes and Southampton were limited to just one proper chance in the second half (that I can recall at least), whereas United seemed increasingly threatening as the game went on and ultimately deserved the comeback I thought
Ruben Amorim said that the Southampton game will tell him more about his team than the Arsenal or Liverpool games. I think the show last night has made it clear what needs to be done.
Enjoy the cerebral telling of your arguments always Loz. You make the fortunes of my sworn enemy palatable even. Appreciate you and to Hell with the other guy that sports the rash ;-)
As an arsenal fan, ive had my eye on this kid since he was on loan two seasons ago at Sunderland and saw a few games including the fa cup game against liverpool where he scored the winner. I knew then that this kid just needed a large run of games to show what he could do, having watched him this season (the last 2 months ) and seeing his the level of output G/A , I truly believe this kid could get to the level of saka or higher. At his current trajectory I think everything we are seeing in terms of technical ability , determination and now discovered high stamina has been there since united bought him maybe just slightly honed and hasn't been coached into him. You just have to imagine if this boy was coached properly under ETH he would have been a level or two higher than he is now, with more goals and assists to his name. His final third decision making/footballing IQ is elite, is that of a much older player and hes very mature on and off the pitch . He is truly Naturally gifted talent like Greenwood when he first came on the scene, I still think Greenwood is you lots most naturally gifted and technical player in decades from the academy. If united can get 2 or 3 players with his mentality and technical ability they should thrive.
Utd fans need to understand that the club *could not afford* for Amad to play, due to the horrendous terms of his transfer. They had to pay Atalanta for every 10 appearances & every 5 goals scored. It wasn't purely on manager selection.
The least deserved win of the season by a longshot. Did Southampton sub their left fullback.. Oh, your audio on That's Football was terrible and people gave you a lot of stick😢

I actually saw this today... Like, literally they became beasts like 10 minutes before of the first Amad goal
@@renearevalo7255 but it's partly also because of the subs, particularly Zirkzee. I think his presence somehow unlocks Amad.

Consistently the best Manchester United analysis comes from a Liverpool supporter.
i swear 😂
I always watch Loz takes as a United fan because he’s brilliant at removing bias and seeing it for what it is
Always have the time for Lawrence, one of the most decent presenters out there, and I am a Manchester United fan.

Antony, for all his faults, has a good understanding with Amad. He's shown it in several games.

That does seem to be the case to be fair... whatever little he's doing right needs to be taught to the player who replaces him
They click so Antony makes Amad better.

you're absolutely right, they over glaze players and then when they have a poor run of games they crucify them
as a united fan, i find you very insightful. Love the work
So refreshing to hear a creator talk so unbiased.
Amad strikes me as a #10 than a #7.
Yeah but they don't have a decent 7.

Before the colours corrected it looked like you were in the Matrix
You’re right Antony is still playing with an ego smh
What an analysis man. Wow
Laurence is my favorite Man United content creator ❤
Spot on!
Amad gets a hat trick before trashford
He scored one against Leipzig once but yeah agree rash nowhere near Amad now
playing runescape in the back?
Better than content from Manchester United fans
Loz’s content is top level, but I would really recommend United People’s TV. Pure content without a lot of the outrage.
New sub. Great analysis 👍
Why are we wasting Messi at wingback?? Rashford hand over the 10
Ten Hag will forever be hated for NEVER playing Amad!! What a player!
Ole also had Amad. He came from gasperini's Atalanta in a similar playing style to the one currently employed at untd.

The white balance of this video bugged me but I stuck till the end
Haha I shot with the TV on so it was WILD, annoyed me!
Im starting to think Loz is a closeted Man Utd fan....
Deeply closeted…
Loz has a lot of Man Utd videos, but the biggest fan bases online for English clubs are Man Utd and Arsenal, so it makes sense to me.
It was a disappointing performance and felt like a los. This game was coming after two, where the players put a shift in.
