Lol I didn’t knew if you knew about this but it’s actually not really a song but a poem written by Lewis Carroll. It’s really cool to see that people are singin it and are using his work to spread some joy🥰
It wasn't until I put subtitles on the movie did I realize what he was reciting was what the Cheshire Cat sang in the 1951. And before that in one of classes in middle school we had to analyze the poem but all I heard when reading it was the Mad Hatter!!
Fun fact: jd created the split personality by accident. He was working on another project and his accent was bleeding in and out. It was perfect though.
Hi. So just wanted to point this out, but there technically is no such thing as a 'split personality' usually this can be categorized as Bipolar disorder, but it his still his own, it's part of him. And the term 'split personality' is extremely outdated and harmful, especially to those with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and other trauma disorders/behavioral disorders. So it's recommended to be extremely careful as it is a very misunderstood and fragile disorder to be misinformed about. Hope this helped with any confusion that was possibly present.
Fun fact: you’re wrong. You are literally the only person to misunderstand Anne Hathaway when she said “I thought, he must be working on another project”.
“You’re not the same as you were before. You were much more… much-ier. You’ve lost your much-ness.” Why does that line hit so hard for me for some reason?
I really liked that as well. It made me realize that the Hatter we've come to know is a shield. It's not really him. This, what we see in this scene, is what lies beneath. I suppose the 'real' Hatter is a fusion of the two, but this personality seems far more grounded than the typical one.
*0:55** - "Mind..."* I get chills every time he says that. You realize these events have really turned the Hatter into a traumatized man. Johnny Depp never fails a performance.
this is by far the best version of the poem Johnny Depp really went with a deep voice, almost making us really feel the fear of the poem, and with that mix of accents, the ambient and the soundtrack make it even darker

I'm surprised no one noticed that when theres a close up of the Hatter the background it divided between day and night from the front of the Hatter to the back, it makes me recall the Tweedles story of the Walrus and the Carpenter.
@@zadokthestoryteller6590 My understanding is that an appeal can not be made based on evidence, witnesses, or jury determination - but based only on a serious legal error made by the judge. This narrows things down quite a bit - though, yes, pray for him, as always.

Currently watching “The Exorcist: Believer” and a student was reading this poem in class. I had to pause it because it sounded so familiar. Now I see the reason why I never understood the end of this poem when I heard from it in AIW first is because JD pronounced “galloping” so differently. 😂 I was like what on earth is “gallopfin?!”

I love Jabberwocky as one of my favorite poems I love from Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking Glass by Lewis Carroll.
It wasn't until I put subtitles on the movie did I realize what he was reciting was what the Cheshire Cat sang in the 1951. And before that in one of classes in middle school we had to analyze the poem but all I heard when reading it was the Mad Hatter!!
I memorized this over 45 years ago. Still recite it.

which film for it he was also working on?
@@DaRealMikeyBruh.5o17 He wasn’t. Anne Hathaway says in an interview when the Hatter was mentally in the past he’d go Scottish
@@DeathnoteBB right. whenever the hatter would get worked up through the films his accent grew thicker and darker and louder - until he was calmed lol

cute line lol
Same. I have been going through a hard time and watched the movie and this was exactly me. I’ve lost my much-ness. Busy getting it back though.
Because as children we are filled with ‘much’ energy. When we get older it is depleted and we ooze away our muchness.
Life has removed much of my muchness but I believe I can get it back … somehow
I love Depp in this scene, he made the hatter so memorable from this movie, especially with how he changes accents, none of them feel out of place.
We need a third installment to be a closure for them.
I really liked that as well. It made me realize that the Hatter we've come to know is a shield. It's not really him. This, what we see in this scene, is what lies beneath. I suppose the 'real' Hatter is a fusion of the two, but this personality seems far more grounded than the typical one.

I get chills every time he says that. You realize these events have really turned the Hatter into a traumatized man. Johnny Depp never fails a performance.
"you don't slay" "i couldn't if i wanted to" is so much funnier now that "slay" has another meaning
I like this version of the Mad Hatter. How switches between personalities, because of the trauma he endured, makes the character interesting.
Johnny Depp is so talented and gifted; and one of the best actors of this century.
this is by far the best version of the poem
Johnny Depp really went with a deep voice, almost making us really feel the fear of the poem, and with that mix of accents, the ambient and the soundtrack make it even darker
Yes, it's good... but it's nothing compared to the same poem read by the Jabberwocky himself.
You need to get out more. There are far better versions
Yeah he sounds like jack sparrow
Benedict Cummerbatch is the man.
John Hurt's delivery is my favorite.

“Snicker-snack” is said so well in this.

When he's angry he's Scottish that's how Johnny approached him
Best answer is who knows
You mean English or Scottish
What does the poem even mean..
Oh how I remember doing this
Bray Wyatt vibes
What they did to the poem was just plain disrespectful.
but why is he scottish?
I don’t believe his scottish is that bad
Why does hatter go Irish mode sometimes 😅
It's not borogroves, it's borogoves. Why do people keep making this pitiful mistake?
