Good stuff JDT! You're getting really confident with these things now. By the way if you get yourself a dremel you can shave down the original switch ports to fit the lite. There's a little cost saving method if you want to pull back an extra fiver 😝
very in-depth and explainatory! thank you. i ordered a lite in really bad condition from ebay, not turning on, planning i=on it being my first repair! hopefully i can get it working!
Thanks! Roughly just over a year now, once or twice a week for videos :) TS100 has done the job since I started, but I did have a beginner one from Amazon as well :)
@@JoeyDoesTech cool, I'm trying lol but can't get cameras set up right and and forget editing, that's a mine field for later. I have some cheap chinese t12 it's good and doesent let me down but I need a 2nd so I don't have to keep swapping tips.
Just wondering is that the TS100 iron at 5:19 and what size tip is that? Also just wondering would it be possible to plug a usb dust protector into the port while using the dremel to prevent shards entering the port? obviously you may decapitate the dust protector but hey...
I hope you reply to this but the capacitor that you checked under the filter do you happen to know the size or even where to get that? On mine it’s shorted out
Here in my country switches have vertical screen line issues mostly from switch lites and V1 switches( V2 also but rarely) on the LCD. The screen just gone bad for some reason without the unit getting physically damage or whatsoever. I've searched and asked some technichians here but none can tell me why this happens, I think its because of overheating and such? Have ya'll ecnounter this problem?
If it’s backlight use a light on screen and see if the screens still on. if it is then backlights not working. If the whole screens not working then that could be a bad issue.
Do you prefer Switch fixes or Switch Lites? 😊😊
Neither, switches don't really turn me on 😝🤣
Both are interesting to watch how you fix them 🤣

Thanks bud always means a lot coming from you :) that’s what I done with this one, had a dreamer and shaved it down :)
You make dropping the new port look so easy! Nice fix 😊
Thanks Treena :)

£45 is not bad. Got a fully functioning switch lite for around the same price as I sold the games it came with. It also had the original box
Nice vid fella. How long you been soldering? And how do you rate ts100 please chap.

Great fix joey. You’re becoming a great technician 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks :)
How would you know if there was a short circuit when checking continuity with your multimeter?
Very nice one again Joey. This one was really in good condition for a used console. You still made it better 🤣 keep up the great content
Another reason for serial number sticker missing
like my son’s switch, playing so much in hand and in and out of the dock it falls off
Yeah true!
For me the last pin you check at 5:34 looks loose 🤔

How did you learn to do this and where do you get any spare parts from? I’m interested in giving it a go
I learned all here on RUclips myself :) Got involved in the repair community, and took some small risks!

Thankyou :)

How safe is getting the part installed to use a Lite on a TV? I have bad hands, so my Lite with the handle accessory works better for me.
£45. Faulty. Nintendo. Switch Lite. With. No. Power. Can. We. Fix. It
Love your repair video mate , keep it up good work ✌🏻 from malaysia !
Thankyou!
Is the firmware stock on the iron?
I have one that’s turning on but no screen .. I believe it might be the black light .. any help peoples ?

@@thisthingmint250 Thanks for the tip .. I’ll give it a crack then move on and see if it’s the backlight driver chip or something else
Very nice Joey. Very nice indeed. Was it banned? Or do you think they just got tired of eating the joycons and went for the serial number sticker 🤣
Haha think someone got hungry! It was fine :)
Nice job!
Thanks :)
Nice work on that one - second nature to you now hah!
Thanks KP :)
