    Good video! Regarding the Beretta's 'unique' slide serrations and looks (which people love or hate), the name "Tactical Toblerone" has to be one of the cooler nicknames for a handgun lol. Beretta tried selling these for over $500 the past 2 years and people just weren't biting, even though it's a good gun with a lower bore axis than the P320 and much flatter shooting. The APX's were down to $330 at Bassproshops right before COVID hit, and I came VERY close to snagging a Centurion model. My concern is that Beretta was simply too damn late to the polymer striker fired pistol arena. When they didn't win the US Military contract, they were introducing the APX into a civilian market that is dominated by Glock 17's/19's, S&W M&P's, Walther PPQ's, CZ's, etc. I'm worried that Beretta will abandon the APX line within the next couple of years because not enough people are buying them.
    However, like you mentioned at the end -- if you can snag an APX for less than $400, I think it's worth it for the quality of gun you are getting.

      Just got the apx, and I have to say.....I would take it over the p320 or the glock anyday. Reliable, sturdy, great trigger, and amazing ergonomics!

      I'm in the market for an APX compact right now. I wanted an APX Carry until I saw it was a DAO trigger. I carry a Beretta 92FS in a shoulder holster and I'm looking for something that isn't such a boat anchor. The carry seemed like a great route! I like Beretta, I want something in the G43 area. Then I saw it was DAO... So now I'm looking for an APX Compact and they seem hard to find. I guess I could get a Centurion and change the internals over to a Compact grip frame, but... Do I really want to spend time and money on a very slight change? Two rounds and I'd have to buy another set of mags? I don't know... I'm just looking into the P320 now and trying to find out why the military went with it over the APX. I honestly think it was aesthetics... So far, the APX seems to outperform at a better price. The 320 looks sleeker.

      @@krow7402 The military went with the p320 due to cost-per-unit. They were able to give a bottom of the barrel price for the modular pistols and service plan that Berretta could not/would not match.
      Something very important to remember is that the government doesn't always choose the best product. They often will go with the cheapest product that meets their specs. I think the APX is a better pistol, but here we are. The military's loss will be your gain if you get one.
      Right now though, SIG is crushing it as a company, and it's looking like they may get the contract for the Army's new Next-Generation-Squad-Weapon (NGSW). Check out the competition that is down to the top 3 for those between SIG, General Dynamics, and Textron.

      @@persona-non-grata Kinda digging that General Dynamics design. I've always been a function over form guy and Bullpup generally outperforms traditional platforms in the same class while coming in a smaller package. I hope we can just get away from buffer tube systems. The new AK uses a recoil system that kinda splits the recoil forces against itself to keep the weapon stable and I really like the design. I'm am AKV owner, though, so I might be biased.

    Dude, I already like your informational videos, but the wall of GREAT movies and shows behind you won me over!!!! Great stuff!!!
    Back on topic, I've been hearing a lot about the Beretta. I'd love to try it. I owned a 92 some years ago and loved it. If this thing is anything similar in quality it's reliable.

    Hey, what do you think a new rifle owner should get, especially if i am looking for something on the budget!!!

    • @someguy5444
      @someguy5444 4 года назад

      Get a SKS, they are extremely well built and are only cheap because they were built from actual slave labor so you get what would be a 1400$ rifle for about 250$ that shoots the same round as a AK but with a stronger frame and gas system. Also stripper clips can be faster then mags if you train a little bit. The only real bad thing is that hollow points kinda don’t feed that well but the surplus stuff does extremely well in it.

    I hear the disassembly of the 320 is easy. While the disassembly of the APX is hard. Is this true?

    Sig won because they were 100 million less than glock that's the only reason. Don't take my word for it do your own research.

    "Modular" is the most important word!! Only two pistols made that distinction?? The Sig won because of that, & it's a better gun than the apx, bottom line...

    • @BB-bp6vn
      @BB-bp6vn 4 года назад +3

      No I think it was pretty much a matter of price they gave the guns away

    • @JacksonWalter735
      @JacksonWalter735 3 года назад

      @@BB-bp6vn agreed. You would be a fool to turn down the M17/M18 at the price the military were getting those at. For arguments sake, let's say I was in the market to purchase a gun and the Glock 17, M&P 2.0, CZ P10F, Walther PDP, FN 509, HK VP9, Ruger American, Beretta APX, and so forth were $500+ but the Sig P320 was $200. I might be more comfortable with a Glock, and prefer the P10F or M&P 2.0 overall, but I'm still picking the P320 for the value and provides. The P320s are already great guns and the pricing was ridiculous. Plus Sig is making great money by providing the mags to the U.S. military as well. The third party ones we used to use when they assigned us the M9 were terrible and I wished we had Beretta mags instead.

    • @willy250r

      I have both. The beretta has been the more reliable of the two after 1200 rounds each. Plus it feels better in hand.
