This comment right here is the only reason I watched this video. Saw that last variations on Ultimate guitar tabs and thought "Ain't no way anyone else starting out is doing this"
The first way to do it is a mind blowing kind of epiphany you just made trillions of songs easier for me, subscribed, and liked. Brain literally exploded.
I just came here to comment that I didnt even consider using my thumb to hit the low F#... thank you... you saved me a good hour or two of being frustrated at myself
I make a regular D chord and then toss my pinky on f# on the d string. It felt weird at first, but now I kind of like it. I might try with the thumb, though.
I used the first method but found that by changing which fingers held what string it was way better. First finger on the 2nd fret E string, then 2nd and 3rd fingers replace where the 1st and second finders were, and pinky/4th finger where the 3rd finger was. Am I breaking the rules by playing it that way?
@@omarogaz2013 Just wanna follow-up with you on this. I showed my guitar teacher this yesterday and he did not like it at all! He says it's a bad technique. So I'm gonna have to learn it the "proper" way.
Greatly helpful and straight to the point! How would I turn this d with f sharp in the bass to D11 fmwith f sharp in the bass? One person said b string on the 1st fret or alternatively barring the 5fret from the a string. The second person said b string 1st fret and high e string on the 2nd fret. Any brief help?! ☯️
Does anyone else have difficulty with the pinkie? Mine seems to be at an angle compared to the others. I don’t trust my pinkie, he’s the weakest link. Any suggestions for improving him?
@@nodiyaa158 this is from my experience, I have significantly shorter fingers compared to average people, not to mention that the neck of my guitar is quite thick as well. Using the side allows your finger to reach the other strings better than if it were to be flat :)
In fact, I do, find it usefule. I am about to link to this video from ruclips.net/video/N8oU8VRBtP0/видео.html as I found this chord in "Mixed Emotions" by the Stones which I did not manage to sing along. It's all a still a mystery to me which is not bad. Glad I found your channel. Problem I have is with F sharp being a regular note of the basic major. my first guess is that it's F sharp mentioned to make clear it is not "under a", the g. I shall watch through, to find out if it's all about the G, which is a fourth btw. What I am upt to: here, the G seems to substitute A because F sharp remains, it's G over F sharp they say, on the other hand, the g might have "replaced" the F sharp, you'd play the g below the A, the A as the third of the basic D would remain. Cheers! Keep up the good work!
Nah man that 3rd variation is impossible, people who can do that must have a genetic deformity or something cos I can't even grab my fingers and physically force them into that shape! What the actual
Last method is craZzzzzy for beginners my fingers spread out so much they went to space
This is so true, can't get it done 😭

@@nodiyaa158 Frick I have NO idea how anyone can transition to this chord quickly. I don't think my fingies can spread this far lol
I needed this chord for a song and this was really helpful

Spot on ! Adding that thumb really enhances the sound !
So handy/helpful! I’m learning a cover from Amistat for an upcoming gig and am grateful!
It's nice to see someone make things easy clear with teaching skills ✌️❤️🌍

Thanks the second one is the best and easiest. I’ve been playing for 3 years now and can’t get the traditional/ first one done at all.

Is there something I can do to make the bar one easier? Like a stretch or something to get my finger to cover the whole fret
You don't stress me out while I'm learning, Thank you! 🤪 🎸❤
Thanks!
The bar chord is so hard
G to D/F # to Em is one of my favourite progressions

Thanks brother I needed this for Champaign Supernova by Oasis

I want 2 know this too, can someone explain if there's a reason to not do this?

Introducing Me by Nick Jonas from Camp Rock 2!!
How do you bar if you don't have long fingers? Please!
You don't need long fingers for Barre chords! You just need to use the side of your finger instead of the front. Hope it helps!
@@bluejuly2633 don't see how it would

Okay so what’s in The thumbnail then? I didn’t see that in the video.
