I’m just beginning finger picking after strumming guitar chords for 55 years. Very good tutorial. Great explanations re how to get started. Thanks.
Best I have found so far. Slow, repetive and
easier for old guys to follow!
glad to hear it!
Hey man your a good teacher, most who have already arrived at good playing forget how hard it may be for a beginner and teach way to fast, so it becomes very frustrating....keep up the good work....😎
Good to see both 4/4 and 3/4 timing
I left a thank you out. It is so simple and it will come natural to people. Your timing will be great too because the fingers are keeping time. The only drawback, don’t give up your strumming! I picked every song to sing along with it for years and when I went back to start streaming, it was hard to find the right timing even here 4/4 time!! It was crazy, but I remember reading an article that Keb Mo had the exact same thing happen. He played finger style for so long, that when he had a tune that required strumming, he had to work at it. So I can still keep that strumming in your practices because as simple as it seems, if you don’t do it for a long time, you actually lose it and have to take a little time to get it back.
You’re such a GREAT TEACHER Coach Jonathan!!!🎸🎸🎸 (Appreciate your Teaching style so much)
Thanks, glad you like the lessons!
Thanks Jonathan, this is a lot more easy! Im excited try this one 😊
Thanks Jonathan, this is really helpful to me. Fingerpicking is a guitar goal of mine and given that I'm mostly using both of the basic strum patterns you've taught me, adding the finger picking version makes complete sense. Thanks!
You're welcome Mike!
wow, its awesome i'm a beginner in guitar and i would like to thank you for sharing your skills here in RUclips. God bless you.

@Nathan Emiliano yea, have been watching on Flixzone} for years myself :D
I love the combination of strumming and finger picking
I am glad that you randomly popped up on RUclips. I liked and subscribed. I'm going back to playing guitar after an injury basically it's gonna be good physical therapy to begin. I am sure I will catch more of your videos later on.
Hey Teacher.. You changed my whole strumming attitudes... Amazing... Thanks
The thumb technique is called “Double Thumb” & it’s very useful.
I have been around and around looking for the tutorial that would help me learn a simplified picking style. Lots of great instructors out there but you by far is the best! Looking forward to following your tutorials. Thank you. Liked and subscribed
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Thank you. So important to keep the beat. Will check your site out now

Pl tell me how to refer to your " song library ?
Thanks again. Good day !!
Great tutorial, well delivered ...thank you.
Hi there,
I have seen many videos about finger picking and you are by far the best. Keep up the great work mate.
Hi Jonathan ,teacher I LOVED YOUR FINGERS PICKING WAS RIGHT IT, AND IMPROVED AS TO PLAYED A GUITAR SKILL IT.
I would not know how It worked at all, but for now I knew how the guitar 's CHORDS WORKED FOR (ETC).
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIMES AND CONCERNS , THE PEOPLE A WHOLE WORLD HAS WATCHED YOU HAVE BEEN DONE SO WONDERFULLY.
I thought I recognized the voice on this lesson! You made all kinds of instructional videos but never showed your face. Maybe I’m way behind but this is the first time I’ve seen your face. You are a fantastic player and instructor! I think the reason your videos didn’t have a billion sales or a billion views is because it’s so hard to build a relationship with people when you don’t see their face. People usually gravitate to likeable people. But, man, you seem AND look, like a great guy! And you’re easily as good as the top guitar teachers on RUclips. These easy to play, easy to understand, free videos, should bring tons of people to your page. I wish more people would throw in some singing with the lesson. Like how to play and sing some of the more basic, rock, blues, country hits. Keep up the good work!
Thank You Sir...you Helps me a Lot..

Fantastic ! My friend who's a Bass player in Detroit always laughs at me He called them ghost chords. I can reach something cuz I'm small handed or just make up a tune that's what sounded exactly like the time and it's always worked. This is excellent thank you for sharing
Thank you sir
Nice tutorial
Thank you this is really going to be next level for me.
Thanks Jonathan
OMG I SO wanted to learn this but felt overwhelmed. By gosh, I think I can do it now after watching this! Thank you :-)
Subscribed!
Thanks, Jonathon! This is great! I really love the emotion finger picking gives a song. Now all I need is a magic potion that makes my chord progressions smooth and fast. I'm still clumsy with progressions to C and D. Oddly, I find I hit chords more accurately when I don't watch my fretting hand.
Glad you liked it Will. Your progressions will get there, just keep practicing!
This is my favorite fingerpicking lesson of all times!!
