I purchased one these triggers to replace the stock trigger in my new G2C. He has several videos guiding you thru the installation but I still manged to lose the spring cap for the slide release bar. Sorry, its still only me and things get a bit hectic these days. I still try to respond to everyone, but sometimes it takes me a day or two to get back to you. If I have not responded within a couple days, shoot me another email. My spam filter sometimes gets a bit overzealous.
I was gonna ask about the triggers. Plan to buy a couple for people I know that own them. Just want to make sure it's something they'd like first before spending money on them. As far as I know though, they're reliable and safe... and I hate the OEM triggers. I have trouble imagining what was going through their heads when they chose to use that trigger design. It's a really cool and effective design... but the trigger blade is so thin and uncomfortable I just don't see how they thought it was a good idea. It's probably the only one I've ever found that's worse than the OEM Glock trigger blades. It's nice that the Keep Tinkering triggers don't have a trigger safety... but at the same time, I'm not sure if they're necessary or not. I'm not sure if they've ever been drop tested by anyone.

Ben, I have one in my Pt140 and put one in my Slim but not its not firing every time its cocked and i pull the trigger. I'm going to check out the trigger bar but did you have any issues issues putting it in your Slim?
You should be working for Taurus.
Such a sweet gun, or the gun that wanted to be. If they would have spent a fraction more time on it, hot rodded it a bit, =perfection.
Or made a dual-rail trigger assembly that was bind-proof, like a pump shotgun with dual-rails on the slide. Thanks for bringing this up!
Thanks! I think they generally did a good job on the original G2C, but I do feel like the trigger safety mechanism was likely a last minute addition, probably by bean counters.
Thanks for the video. I have a Taurus G2c that I installed one of your triggers on and had lots of reset issues. (The stock trigger was horrible. The spring was so loose that the trigger bar had zero retention. It just laid in the frame. Amazing that it actually shot). After some of your recommended tweaks, the gun works like a champ. I bought and installed one of KT's triggers and trigger springs into my G2C as per his install videos. The improvement is huge! I can't believe Taurus doesn't contract with KT for his triggers. Shooting is much more pleasant and it seems to have improved accuracy.
Glad you like it! And yea, the stock triggers leave such a short trigger face to backstrap distance at break, and such a long trigger pull that it really seems to cause a lot of low and to the left issues with people who have average sized or larger hands. Until you experience it yourself it wouldnt seem like moving that trigger face forward would make that much difference in accuracy, but it really seems to with quite a few people.
Shoutout to this guy. Very helpful and more than fair. I broke the first trigger (don’t force things that aren’t going in easy) and he was very kind on my second purchase. I have yet to install the second yet (thanks USPS) but very much looking forward to getting the new trigger installed. Love the gun hate factory trigger.

I too had a great experience upgrading my trigger. Had a spring issue and he promptly corrected it by sending me another. The G2C is waaaay better with the trigger safety removed and the trigger bar tweaks applied per this video. Like others I have put over 1k rounds thru mine with ZERO issues. I count on my G2C as a daily carry and my mods (red dot and lakewood threaded barrel plus keep tinkering trigger kit) make this rock solid and frankly most accurate pistol I own...

Thank you for this very informative video. It really helped make my Taurus G2C's trigger more fun and accurate to use. Mine had two false "breaks" in single action and three loud clicks in double action before reaching full trigger pull. The trigger bar tip was hitting the sear and pushing it in several directions both during trigger pull and release. After adjusting the trigger bar as you suggested, the tip of the trigger bar just clips the bottom of the sear as you recommended. Now I have very quiet trigger operation unless I push to the right or left instead of straight back which actually helps me tactilely to know when I have good backwards trigger finger movement. It also helps keep the G2C on target during trigger pull since it is much smoother and less jerky. Thank You!!!!!!!

Concur on accuracy improvement from his triggers and adjustments. Am blown away how this little G2C can out shoot my XD45!
Just installed your trigger on my G3, it’s awesome. However, I to had the issue of the trigger not engaging when pressed to the left. I was shocked to see how much slop/play the factory trigger and your trigger has side to side. No worries I just put a washer/shim on the left side of trigger and now it’s PERFECT. I had to shave some off the washer to make a perfect shim.
Just a suggestion for future sales, I think it would be awesome if you included or even sold shims. I had to do the same for my tx22 but I had 2 .005 shims left over from a 10/22 trigger job I did years ago. 2 .005 shims on the tx22 was perfect.

Glad it is working out for you now! There is some variance in how the the hole in the frame for the trigger is cut, so some do have more side to side play than others.
Hey, I have been having issues with the slide going into battery while keeping trigger depressed. I think by adding your trigger and adding shims it keeps the trigger bar more upright and makes it drag harder on the firing pin safety plunger. I’ve dremeld the edge of the safety plunger rounding it off, which did help but it’s still not smooth enough for me. Anyways, I was wondering if you could make a reduced power safety plunger spring or know of where I can buy one? I don’t want to do the experimenting with different spring. People have been having same issue with glocks and there are aftermarket spring and plungers on the market for them. I wonder if a glock safety spring would work on the g3? Thanks for all you do. I really love your trigger shoes.
@@YeshuasServant The striker block spring is pretty light weight from the factory, if your striker block isnt lifting easily, most often the problem is some sort of gunk in there. I would carefully take that assembly apart and clean it out real good. I have a video here: ruclips.net/video/XB-eJqQ8KXI/видео.html I start the process of taking out the striker block at about 12 minutes, and start showing my process to easily polish the striker block around 16 minutes. Let me know if that helps or if you need any further assistance.
Thanks, I’ve already polished and cleaned the plunger. I’m actually thinking that the cause is the extra power trigger bar spring you supply. I think it’s adding a lot of upward pressure to the slide disconnector and causing the disconnect or to slide hard against the slide. Maybe I’ll just let it brake in naturally. Everything functions when i slingshot the slide but when I ride the slide closed there is a sticking point.

Thanks. I had a dead trigger or a light strike. After watching your video a few times I am thinking I had grit in my trigger and carbon build up in on the pin to cause a fail. I cleaned it and it worked but have ordered one of your triggers now so I will clean it more and check the reset also.

Just came back from the range. After 250 rounds of 9mm ammo no malfunction of any sort! The Keep Tinkering SOA trigger worked flawlessly after modification to the trigger bar!! Very happy!!

Have you ever been tempted to do a sight replacement with one of the Lakeline LLC sights or optic mounting plates? I've had my eye on their tritium night sights for a year now. (pretty sure they don't sell any triggers so they are not a competitor, not that I would expect people in the custom mod community to really think that way)
Very glad to have found your channel. This is a specialized skill and knowledge base you have, as there seems to be very few people with an interest in modifying these guns, much less people who seem to have any idea what they're doing. There's an part and tutorial for everything you could ever want for a Glock, but it's slim pickings for a Taurus enthusiast community.
I bought my PT111 G2 three years ago when it was the only gun I could afford and, lets just say, I had an urgent need for a self-defense tool at that moment in my life. Now that I have learned to love guns, of course there are expensive Glocks and Berettas and CZ's I'd love to buy, but all-in-all I still love my Taurus. People might turn their noses up when I tell them what I shoot but I truly think it is a hidden gem. It malfunctioned once on its first mag and never has again, several thousand rounds later. It fits my hands great. It is smaller than any 12+1 9mm has any business being. So as strange as it might seem to be putting money into modifying a $200 gun, I really would love to improve it as much as I can.
Lakeline makes great stuff, but I do pretty well with the stock sights, so I have not replaced them yet. as far as the gun itself goes, absolutely. These are great guns, and so many companies can take notes from how thin and ergonomic Taurus made these!
I added a hex dragonfly (someday I'll add the Hex Wasp instead) with Galloway precision optic plate. Once loctitied in place and zeroed in, the G2C is hard to beat for accuracy. The Keep Tinkering trigger is an amazing add when combined with a red dot. Is my everyday carry and trust it with my life...
Thanks! I had this problem at first, but it seemed to remedy itself after running quite a few rounds through it. Since the ammo shortage, I’ve been saving the 9mm I have in case it’s needed for defense. I will check to see if this condition exists. Thanks again!

Excellent video - so easy even I could do it.
My brother gave me a non-functional PT24/7 G2C that he had bought around 2010, it had a plethora of problems including not dropping the striker/wouldn't fire, the single action reset didn't work, and there was a _ton_ of grittiness in the trigger. I ended up putting about five hours of work into it the other day and eventually got it back into perfect running shape, I had to stretch the trigger bar back about .065" thou, cut the sear back .025" thou, bend the sear ramp back into shape (it was F'd, I actually had to heat treat the thing afterward, it was soft as mild steel when I pulled it out) and sand it smooth to get rid of the grittiness, and I cut the leg of the striker back about .040" thousandths to match everything else up. Then I had to install a trigger stop to keep the sear from dropping too low which was causing the single action failure, and after that it was all back up and running, I've dry fired it into a snap cap about a thousand times to make sure it's all working and there's no changes. I also realized I hated the reset length of the single action, so I soldered a small 1/8" inch long 1/16" inch thick brass rod onto the front left side of the sear, so that the rod/sear hits the single action stop much closer than the standard reset, it only has about 1/8" inch of trigger reset now, which is less than half what the original reset was.
I've had a low opinion of Taurus automatics because of this gun, I had made several attempts at fixing it in the past but wasn't training to be a gunsmith at the time like I am now, and to be fair it had less than 500 rounds through it brand new from the factory before it shit the bed, but now that it's fixed and the trigger is smoothed and reset shortened, I kind of like it. I'm sure the newer models of the G series are much improved over the one I have, with it's stamped sheet metal internals and nonexistent replacement parts, so I guess I shouldn't harp on them so bad anymore. But dang are these things a chore to fix, the springy stamped sheet metal parts are a PITA to fit or repair.
Well this definitely helped to change my mind about changing the trigger on my g2C
As I said in the video, swapping the trigger can expose the issue a bit earlier, but it will happen once the stock trigger loosens up a bit too, or if the trigger bar is bad enough it will happen when the gun is new.
@@KeepTinkering oh mine is kinda new only around 200 rounds i was thinking about a new trigger to remove the trigger safety but keep the double action but not changing anything else on it or wasn't planning to lol
my g2c (w/ standard sao trigger) was doing this at the range last week on final round of the mag, and sometimes randomly. was going to contact you all about it, will try these fixes.

I purchased your pseudo back strap trigger and replacement spring for my G2C. After some installer related issues I couldn't be happier. What a huge difference. BTW do you know what happens when you inadvertently remove the sear spring and then try to head to the range??? Not good things. All is now right with the world and with my G2C. Your trigger “ sao “ does not work period. A gun fires right handed or left handed. And always fires, not just sometimes. You need a trigger bar to come with you trigger. Won’t work with factory bar.

My G3 ran thousands of rounds flawlessly. I put your trigger in and it only resets if i let go of the trigger when i rack the slide. Haven't tried live fire yet. I fought the pins bad getting them out so i really don't want to do it again. Nothing is pinched. I think i understand what your saying about hitting the sear but im not 100% because you never really point out the sear and how much it should or shouldn't move. I'm pretty pissed off cuz right now it appears that my gun doesn't even function properly when all i wanted was to take some of the slop out of the trigger. It's my primary EDC and home defense so i need this sorted out now

Hey I have a question so I went to the range yesterday but had a misfire but when I shot another time with other different magazine it shot fine with the upgrade KT g2c trigger. Could it be my ammo?

Brian I would have to see it in person to know for sure, yours is the first GX4 I have heard of with reset issues.
@@KeepTinkering It's the right hand shooter pushing the trigger to the left issue.
Same thing is happening to my GX4 ... if RH shooter pushes the trigger to the left, GX4 will fail to reset every time.
My GX4 was delivered to the factory two days ago for the factory recall "drop safe" warranty repair.
I included a note about this failure to reset, and am hoping they address both issues soon.

Hey man just bought this trigger for my g2c a few weeks ago and I’ve had nothing but problems, I keep getting super light primer strikes. I don’t know if it’s something I’ve done but when I clear the round and wait a few minutes so it doesn’t blow up in my face I then stick it back in the gun and tried 2 more times to fire, still nothing. Except for 3 little punch marks in my primer from that same round. From this video I can’t really tell if there’s anything wrong with my trigger reset or if my trigger arm isn’t high enough to clear the plunger to drop the spring, if you think you have an answer for this problem please help a man out, I love your trigger and really want this to work out 😂🤙🏻
After a spring change from the stock firing pin spring to a Glock’s firing pin spring, she works like a charm now.

I was having the dead trigger problem. I replaced the trigger spring to fix the problem
If that trigger spring doesn't have sufficient tension and preload it can DEFINITELY cause dead trigger issues.
Bought a trigger from him, I can't get the reset to work. Sorta works without the pins in, then when it's assembled, it doesn't work. Not sure bout this. I wanna say it's good, but I'm not happy with it.

I bought the straight blade trigger for my g3c and the combo of trigger and spring that comes with it gives me a dead trigger 50% of the time with a glove on. The trigger bar projection hits the sear every time. This gun has never been shot. I put a galloway trigger on it and it gets a dead trigger 10% of the time with a glove on. Sometimes the trigger bar projection hits the sear and sometimes it doesn't(galloway). What gives? Is the spring to stiff? It looks as though the trigger bar is higher on the sear and hits the bottom of it all the time with trigger/spring combo...
The trigger spring cant be too stiff, these guns are HIGHLY dependent on having that trigger bar snapping back up as quickly and firmly as possible, and that tension is ALL generated by the trigger spring. If the rear of the trigger bar does snap back up quickly and with some force when pressed down, and you are still having reset issues when firing right handed, but not when firing left handed, or when putting pressure on the trigger from the left to the right while pulling the trigger, the issue is the trigger bar. Shoot me an email, if needed you can mail me the lower and I can get the issues resolved for you and send it back.
Just put your trigger in my g2c today a gunsmith installed it while at the store great trigger - I just noticed trigger has a lot of side to side movement i haven't shot it yet my question is the trigger installed properly also the reset is not resetting the same all the time - looks like to problems -
Both my triggers and the stock G2C triggers have a fair amount of side to side play because Taurus doesnt always cut that trigger hole in exactly the same place, so some guns will be snug against one side, some guns will have the trigger snug against the other side, and some guns will have a fair amount of play. As far as the reset not working consistently, did you do the checks discussed in this video? Did you determine if the trigger bar had enough tension to snap back up? Or was the reset related to pushing the trigger to the left or right while pulling the trigger?
So to be clear, the trigger bar HAS to actuate the sear? or you have to bend it downwards until it no longer activates the sear? I’m thinking about buying one of ur triggers, but when I look at my gun, the trigger bar actuares the sear when I press the trigger. Does that mean I will have this issue?
Its tough to say for sure, optimal is usually the trigger bar will just barely touch the bottom of the sear, and then slide under it without activating the sear. The reason this is optimal is because when the striker is cocked against the sear it will drop the sear down just a bit and puts everything in place. Keep in mind if your gun works fine with the stock trigger, it will work fine with my triggers as long as you pull the trigger straight back, just like you have to do with the factory trigger. If you do decide get one of my triggers and run into any issues, just let me know and I can help you out.

So I just bought a g3c and my stock trigger after pulled and released doesn't reset all the way. I have to push the trigger forward or shake the gun for it to reset. Is this just because the gun is new and hasn't been fired yet or could it be a bad trigger from manufacturer. I'm new to owning firearms so any advice is greatly appreciated
Tyler, no that isnt how it should come from the factory. My suggestion is the empty the gun, remove the mag and slide, lube up the lower pretty well, then work the trigger back and forth putting significant pressure first on one side, then on the other side while holding back the trigger safety. Sometimes these guns can have minor friction point hot spots that can often be resolved by doing this. If that doesnt work, you may try the other suggestions I have in this video for getting the trigger to return forward, or contact Taurus with a warranty claim.

I have SAO triggers and SA/DA triggers. Any of my SA/DA triggers will keep the DA/Restrike, but dont reduce the trigger travel quite as much as the SAO triggers that remove the DA/Restrike function.

Yes, there is a shorter pull for the reset after the first pull, but if something is causing reset issues it isn't going to go well.
@@KeepTinkering I’ve heard a lot of guys on YT complain about that like it was a malfunction. Just wanted to make sure, it wasn’t something I didn’t know about.
With mine the trigger bar part that pushes on the sear actually releases it so that the trigger resets with the slide removed. It runs flawlessly with hundreds of rounds through it. When the trigger bar pushes the sear you can see and hear it click, and the trigger will reset. Is this normal?
That sounds like everything is working fine, so unless you have any running issues I would say it sounds good.
I have heard that the keep tinkering trigger is a great replacement trigger for my G2C. I ordered a trigger, while trying to install the trigger, the spring was damaged. I have contacted the seller about three times requesting information how I can purchase a replacement spring. The guy refuses to answer my emails or send me information how to purchase a new spring. I can not use the trigger or use my gun. I will caution against buying this product as customer service is terrible.

Dang. We took one out today brand new. Not even thirty rounds amd this thing started acting up every magazine.

Honestly if you are not running into these issues, I probably would not worry about it.
You're definitely right about the trigger safety aligning the trigger. With the factory trigger, I've felt it catch on the frame more than once.
On one of mine, I'm getting a false reset in restrike. Any ideas?

I think mine is also doing this "false reset" with the slide off. No malfunctions. Did you ever get an answer on this?
i bent trigger bar down like you showed-so it made no contact with that small striker release tab--- it didnt work- the trigger does nothing- that small tab is supposed to hold and release the striker pin. so i bent it back up and it broke- very bad info- not happy with your info.
I am very sorry to hear that, as I said in the video you want it to be BARELY missing the bottom of the sear when the slide is off, if you do it like I show in the video when you put the slide on it will move the sear down just a little bit and that rear projection on the back of the trigger bar will be in just the right spot to push against the very bottom of the sear. If you bend it down way down too far, it will completely miss the sear even when the slide is on, then if you bend it way back up you are now fatiguing the metal. That was why in the video I said small steps and test as you go.
Do you know or have anybody with a pt140pro millennium to compare the triggers that fit I like the way your trigger look but if this is a millennium g2 it should work for the pt140 millennium pro

Will after market triggers for the G2c fit the G3c ?
Mine do yes, but make sure to use either one of my trigger springs, or a stock G2/G2c style trigger spring, as the stock G3/G3c trigger springs are not compatible.
Will this work pro for g3 not just G3c?

Very weak reset on the g3c, aside that the trigger feels great with less travel
A reset that feels weak is almost always related to trigger spring that is either weak or has been deformed and is lacking preload, or excess friction along the trigger bar that is keeping it from popping up as it should. At the beginning of this video I cover the test for checking how fast the trigger bar pops back up, and some things you can try to get it to loosen up a bit. If none of those work and your trigger bar return seems weak or sluggish, it is possible that the trigger spring was deformed during the install. Quit holding the trigger when you reload that's why it has issues, it's not made to do that, I keep seeing people do that and I don't understand why that's a literally one of the first things you learn when you take your concealed weapons permit class or any type of learning involving guns
Thomas, when I am holding the trigger and working the slide in this video, I am emulating what happens when you fire a round, not what happens when you are loading a mag.
How long does it usually take to ship a trigger and spring
Sorry about the delay, I ship these out the same day I make the labels, but my local USPS can sometimes take a long time updating tracking, I assume they must just drop it in a box and get to it whenever they feel like it.

My double action isn’t kicking in after the SA pull. Does anyone have a fix for this?
What kind of trigger are you using? And is it coming all the way back forward on its own? Or does it come forward further if you push it forward? If it does come further forward when pressed forward, does the DA work then?
@@KeepTinkering the trigger is stock and it comes all the way forward after either pull. I am able to reset to DA by lightly pushing back the slide, but it doesn't reset after the DA pull.
I almost wish I had a second slide to test because I'm suspecting the striker is binding in the striker guide. the striker stays forward after manually disengaging the internal safety in the slide. Another reddit user showed me his slide and it appears as though the striker is supposed to float freely rather than locking forward.
@@notmyrealname2516 the striker should be sprung almost all the way forward. I can push my striker forward maybe 1/16" from its resting point until it runs into the striker block, then maybe another 3/16" when the striker block is depressed. Is that the way your striker is working?
@@KeepTinkering not quite. The striker is pretty much entirely forward. Depressing the striker block essentially pulls the trigger(so to speak). I’ve actually had the striker stick forward enough to prevent feeding if I short stroke the slide.
@@notmyrealname2516 do you have both striker springs? You should have a smaller spring that retracts the striker.

I was just getting over being really sick, including severe laryngitis, so when I made this video I could barely talk and my brain was fried. Watching it now is just painful for me, both from how broken my voice sounds and how much I fumbled for words, so I will probably re-record it at some point. I might sound like a rock singer because they also abuse their vocal cords sometimes, but for different reasons.
Taurus guns are hot garbage.
In my experience when you buy a cheaper product, you get less quality control. That is definitely an issue that Taurus is known for, but I do think it is blown WAY out of proportion. Every manufacturer and every process has an error rate, and I honestly dont think Taurus in recent years is THAT much higher than seen with other gun manufacturers. I have seen thousands of these guns, and while I dont like the stock trigger safety design, which is why I made my own, 99% of the other issues I see with these guns is related to problems with the trigger bar, which I have a video on correcting. So it really just depends if you want spend $200-$300 and get a gun you may have to spend 30-60 minutes going through to make sure everything is perfect, or if you want to spend $500+ on a gun from a manufacturer that also has a chance to have problems.
Moral or the story these are absolute garbage guns. Embarrassing to say the least they have not fixed this issue and still sell these pos guns.
That's ALL to do with the TRIGGER that you put in the gun NOTHING WRONG WITH THE STOCK TRIGGER!!
Did you watch the video? As I stated in it the problem can exist with the stock trigger as well, but is disguised by the fact that often the stock trigger when new will hang up if you put ANY pressure left to right, and it forces you to pull straight back so the issue isnt apparent. However as the stock gun breaks in and loosens up a little, or if it came a bit on the looser side new, or if the trigger bar just came REALLY out of whack, the problem can happen even with the stock trigger. Your products suck, they don't work. Gun worked near flawlessly until I installed you trigger, I tried adjusting the bar now it's worse than ever, it won't even click. Seriously don't understand what I'm doing wrong. All was well until I tried your junk.
Is your trigger bar snapping back up quickly and firmly when depressed and released? Are you sure you tweaked the trigger bar the right direction? If you could send me some pics and vids to keeptinkering@gmail.com that could help.

Best advice is never buy a Taurus they are junk
They can have their issues for sure, but once any problems are sorted out I have found these guns to be incredibly reliable.
