    Outstanding video. I had to jump over to this video from your disassemble video after polishing my extractor push down Stricker pin. I needed to learn the reassemble steps. Your made it look easy ,but once I watched this video is was very easy for me as well. Trigger pull seems way smoother now. Butter smooth. Thanks you so much.

    Much obliged. I just did this R&R on my G2C, which is experiencing extraction failures at 800-850 rounds. It was filthy under the extractor, with a lot of dirt, factory lube and brass shavings. I'll edit this comment after my next range trip in about a week, with an update on reliability.

    You made it look easy. I have a heck of a time getting that extractor pin back into the slide correctly.

    Excellent videos! I understand the inverted top hat (extractor pin) and its spring (extractor pin spring) and the extractor (big external piece) and it's heavier spring (extractor spring). Looked up in the parts expanded view of my Taurus G3c. I didn't lose the extractor pin or its spring, but I may have stretched the extractor pin spring a bit. Two questions. Do you know where I could purchase the extractor pin spring? Second I understand the "restrike" on my G3c, but really do not like it. On your triggers the trigger safety goes away? Anything else have to be done to lose the "restrike". I'm not an expert, just a former Marine with some talent. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. I'll be undergoing hand surgery mid month so installing your trigger may have to wait a couple of weeks. God Bless America, L Steele, SSgt USMC (rt).

    So, I need to remove the striker as well? The only other video I found on this subject didn't mention that at all. That must be what is keeping everything from locking in (?). Thanks you SO much. By the way, I found my pin spring on the floor moments ago...for the SECOND time!!

    After removing and cleaning the extractor on my G2C I haven't had any FTE issues. My question now is: how often should I remove all of that and clean it? Since it's very tedious work I'd rather not do that after EVERY time I shoot. Or, should I? Once again, thanks.

    • @Petryfied

      I just shoot in some gun scrubbers or leave some hoppes dripped on it and it’ll soak up in it and break that gunk up and then wrk it back and forth and spray it out with compressed air. That’s only after I have taken it out before and actually cleaned it right. This method I mentioned is just going to keep it free and not froze up and stuck from gunk

      I started having FTE as well with my G2c i just cleaned my extractor on mine as well it was totally gunked up. so much grease I guess the rim was slipping out. I Don't have enough ammo to check to function ATM fingers crossed

    I have a G3 and had 3 or 4 FTF issues/extractor not pulling the spent brass out.... Is there a better after market Extractor or should I take it out and deep clean every 150 rounds or so? Also the slide spring seems very easy to slide especially compared to my Canik TP-9 and Zigana PX-9, both of which are very strong, and both are soft shooters,...

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  2 года назад

      150 rounds seems pretty often... If you give it a good cleaning that should last at least several thousand rounds in my experience. As far as the recoil spring goes, how far is it ejecting the spent rounds when they do eject? Usually a correctly tuned recoil spring ejects rounds about 6-8 feet before they hit the ground, so if they are barely dribbling out of the gun and landing by your feet, the recoil spring is too hard, and if they are zinging across the range like they are trying to leave orbit, the recoil spring is too soft.

    I just subbed.
    Hey btw, I'm in Galveston. Small world.
    Is it same on the gx4?

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  3 года назад

      I just checked my Gx4, and it is nearly the exact same, the only difference is the striker block is directional in the Gx4, hump side towards the outside of the gun, so just pay attention to that.

    Or what magazine can I use for the G2s

  • @johnwalker-qo1il
    @johnwalker-qo1il 4 года назад +1

    Do the Taurus G2s have a 30rd magazine for it

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  4 года назад +1

      The G2s is a single stack, if you want to use a 30 round mag I would definitely suggest a double stack.

    Mine has a failure to feed about every 20 rounds I feel like the extractor isn't grabbing the new round the extractor seems to push on the back of the new round and they hang at an angle before it completely enters battery. I cleaned and it ran well for 50 or so and limp wrist is real so I'm not sure if it is always the gun. G2c in 40s&w

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  Год назад +1

      Yea, a lot of cycling errors can definitely be related to how the gun is held. You can definitely check the extractor though, especially if you feel like it is hanging up on new rounds you might want to make sure the face the edge of the rounds slides against is nice and smooth, and that there isnt any gunk under the extractor.

  • @thomasbrown6332

    So, weird issue I have been having with my G3 lately seems like it has something to do with the extractor/ejector function. I can work the slide and chanmber a round, but if I were to try to work the slide after a round has been chambered the slide will not go back without force. I mean it’s so bad that I’ve ripped a bullet out of the casing while in the chamber with only the casing being ejected from the gun. Any thoughts?

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  2 года назад

      Thomas, the bullet portion of the round shouldn't be getting stuck in the barrel at all, let alone stuck so hard pulling on the casing can cause the two to separate. I would VERY thoroughly clean your barrel and then look at see what is going on in there that could cause it to stick. Let me know if that helps or if you need any further assistance.

    I would think the GX4 is exactly the same take down.

    • @KeepTinkering
      @KeepTinkering  3 года назад

      Yea, the whole upper on the GX4 is of the same design as the PT111 G2/G2c/G3 series. Not saying they are interchangeable, but a scaled and reshaped version.
